I haven’t been here in years but I ate here last Friday. I found the service to be rather slow but I just assumed that this meant everything was being made from scratch. Which I had no problem with. I ordered the«Gutt» which is hands down the ultimate hangover meal. It had all the essentials; the grease, the sugar, and of course the home-fries. I wasn’t hungover at the time, but let me tell you, if I was, this would be my go to breakfast item.

Nice job. I got 2 of their tacos. Both were generously filled and well balanced. I think next time I’ll stick to the pork. The tofu was a good change of pace, though. Joe thoroughly enjoyed his burger(it looked tasty). We both enjoyed his expertly-fried sweet-potato fries. Expertly – how do I know? Because they were still delicious even after they had cooled down to room temp. They couldn’t find the key to unlock the wine ‘cellar,’ suggesting that they must not sell a lot of their house red. It was amusing, not annoying. Super friendly staff. We went before seeing a play(UVM’s very moving«Our Town») and glad it’s there for a nice night out. A few details: if you’re not a UVMer, you won’t get WiFi. The students seemed nonplussed by our presence. Didn’t feel like we were, you know, obvious. Self-bussing, so as a result, may want to check and make sure your chosen table’s basically clean. And they do have metal flatware for on-site use.

It’s expensive, but that’s a given considering its a university dining place that also occasionally serves non-UVM people. The burgers are about $ 10. The only thing I recommend here are the milkshakes, especially the vanilla or maple. They occasionally come in a Mason Jar. If you are to eat here, come on Wicked Wednesdays. Everything after 8pm is half off.

During the day, Brennan’s is a restaurant and lounge area and most people come here to get lunch such as chicken fingers, burgers, and a few other specialties. During the evenings, it becomes a bar with live music. It is located in the Davis Center at the University of Vermont, and is patronized mostly by students. It’s a pretty decent place to hang out on lounge chairs and meet people for a chat. Food is average and the prices are pretty high.
