Heard the new«5 Star» has closed. Doesn’t surprise me.

Looks obviously can be deceiving, me and my boyfriend went in barely any people, our waitress lost her notepad, forgot certain foods, and seemed high. They didn’t have the food that we originally ordered and flies were all over the place. Finally we go to pay and our waitress forgot how to use the cash register, she grabbed a waiter from his break and he smelled like he smoked 80 packs a day, I would’ve overlooked all of this if the food was at least good but it was bad.

While it has been 6 months while I have been there that in itself should tell you why I have rated so low. The one and only time I was there I had an awful experience. It took the way over sat waiter 20 minutes just to get us drinks. At this time a family of four is seated in the both behind me. They got there meal before us. When we finally got are meal it was cold.

Had never stopped in here before and never will again. Like an episode of Kitchen Nightmares– I kept looking around for Gordon Ramsay. Place was empty but it took a long time for us to be able to put in our order for simple breakfast items. While we waited we could hear arguments in the kitchen and at the cash register. Other people walked out and so did we when our waitress told us after half an hour our food hadn’t been cooked. Probably just as well since the place was dirty(crumbs all over the booth seat). Wow.

Went in because we saw the new management signs out front. Our previous experiences weren’t great so we wanted to give it another shot. As soon as we walk in, the ATM/credit card machines were broken. We waited for 5 min and no one sat us and we were turned off by the people serving the food that looked really shady. We left without even getting to the food. Seems like it’s business as usual for this spot.

I have never sent back food in my life. After waiting an hour for the«5 Star Wrap», which was supposed to be grilled chicken, fried onions, bacon, and barbecue sauce, I got grilled chicken, white onions, no bacon, smothered in some sort of sweet and sour sauce. Oh, and I ordered sweet potato fries but got regular fries. This was after the waitress had checked our order with us literally 3 times. Dolphin Diner had some issues, sure, but we were hopeful for the new management of the new«5 Star Diner». We were so very disappointed, and are giving up on the diner for good – no matter what name they slap on it.

Horrible experience! They had a menu full of things they didn’t have in the kitchen. They changed our waitress 3x and there was like 1 other customer in there. They had an advertised special that they didn’t give us. We ordered potato skins finally after 4 attempts at other things that were all«not available» and they were burnt.

My husband and I have been eating at the Dolphin again to see if it had improved. We again had the nicest servers and great food. Both our dinners were great just like they used to be. Keep up the great work!

This was the worst diner I ever been to in my life. For diners my expectations aren’t much so I usually stick to fried foods — frozen food thrown into a fryer not hard to execute right?!? WRONG! Ordered shrimp dinner for me OMG shrimp tasted bad and it was soggy. Ordered chicken fingers for my daughter it was so bad we had to send it back(and I’m not a person who really ever sends food back). I would never come here again. Service was just as bad as good.

As far as diners go, this one is just ok. I appreciate that when you ask for something like«extra crispy bacon» you get what you ordered. But then they don’t offer to refill your coffee until after the check is brought to the table? I would’ve asked the waitress for some earlier, but she did not come over to check on us as she was busy(very loudly) gossiping with the other waitresses at the end of the counter.

This place was okay. The service was great – food was nothing to write home about. The milkshakes were delicious though. It’s right on 130 so location is convenient. One thing that rubbed me the wrong way is there is 1 small container of crayons for the whole restaurant. Talk about cheap! If you are going to cater to kids what is the big deal about getting a bunch of containers – they are not that expensive.

Pretty horrible! Service was super slow and I had egg shells in my French toast. I will not be returning.

It’s ok there. The service is usually top notch. The food leaves a bit to be desired, but the service makes up for it not being just okay.

Needed a diner turkey club fix in the middle of the day and was sadly disappointed and unfulfilled here… I think my timing of day was off bc I’ve had great experiences here in the past. but this time I thought I’d share that it could be hit or miss. I was given a sad turkey club with ice cold fries with pretty good coleslaw/pickle. Like most places it could be good or could be bad but it’s not a place you find yourself saying its always great…

Like another user had mentioned, the previous incarnation of this diner was great. Sunday morning, wife and I want some breakfast. This place is gorgeous, inside and out. First thing I noticed was no uniforms for any wait staff. Sit down to a very small menu. Common staples like Eggs Benedict are missing. Glance over to a ‘breakfast special’ card stand that runs Monday-Friday. Ok, waitress takes drink order and we hear hostility from the kitchen-bus area. Order is taken, although not confidently(asked for cream chipped beef, waitress asked what kind of toast I wanted my sour cream on.) Then the kitchen hostility escalates to more raise voices. All on a Sunday morning at 9:30! It was clear that one of the men raising his voice was affiliated with ownership. We canceled our order, go to leave and I almost get bulled over by a waitress carrying food. Really negative atmosphere.

My parents live in the area so DD is our spot when I’m in town visiting. I love diners and DD is pretty much what diners are made of. The staff and management are very friendly and always attentive – which is cool – it gives it a real neighborhood feel. The décor is pretty cool too; it’s clean which is rare when it comes to most diners in the northeast. So…about the food. Are you kidding me right now?! The menu is overwhelming with everything from comfort breakfast delights to savory dinner platters – and everything in between. They have daily blue-plate specials that are reasonably priced AND abundant. I’ve had many items on the menu and always leave with a doggie bag and a huge smile on my face. The chicken parm is off the chain! Every meal comes with some sort of starter like soup, salad, bread… fuggettabowdit! I love this place! If you want a solid meal for your family and friends, and everyone has a hankering for something different… this is your spot. Forget the totally gross buffets on 130 and hit the Dolphin Diner. It’s the closest you’ll come to homemade outside of your crib. Oh… the desserts. They’re huge too, but I’ve never had them on account of being too full. Just one con: The chipped beef is horrible. But to DD’s credit I’ve NEVER had good chipped beef from a diner. Go figure! It’s one of the simplest breakfast dishes to make but every diner gets it wrong. Anyway…don’t walk… run to the Dolphin Diner and enjoy one of the best meals you’ll get in Joisy!~

This diner has a super cool building. Food was EXCELLENT! There weren’t any dolphin entrées on the menu, which I was relieved about. I like dolphins because they’re smart. Service was also EXCELLENT! There is a graveyard across the street. New favorite diner!!!

Stopped here the other night just for the hell of it. I ordered the ham steak with mashed potatoes, applesauce, and a side salad while he ordered the chicken parm with pasta on the side. My food was okay, although our server usually forgot extra requests(slow refills, forgot extra salad dressing, etc) It’s a diner; what more do you want? I will also note that the interior decorating is rather cheesy. They try to make you feel like you’re in a fishtank(glass with fish and turtles and waves on them), but the bathrooms are normal and quite nice for a diner.
