Had the pleasure of dropping by with a craving for some breakfast. I’m quite particular when it comes to the doneness of my eggs — fortunately I was not disappointed with my veggies omelette cooked soft with some extra fixings and rye toast. My waitron, Alba was very friendly and service oriented as was her colleague. This is a nice family style establishment with diner style menu options. Its can be a bit difficult to find in the plaza where it is located but there is moderate amount of parking space. Inside it was clean with bright finishes. I was satisfied with my experience here. Prices are reasonable

Much prefer to eat here than at nearby hotels where you get ½ the food for twice the price. It appears to be a mom & pop place favored by locals. Good breakfast! Highly recommend.

I feel ripped off! Food was good but it took over twenty minutes to get. Then when the bill comes they added 18% gratuity to the bill. I asked about it as there were only four in my party. I was told«that is what we do for bills over $ 40»(my bill was $ 41). Is that even legal? I have never heard of adding gratuity to a bill based on the amount of the bill. Nowhere did i see this information posted in the restaurant. Maybe next week they decide to add 20% gratuity to bills over $ 20. Be warned!

My last review was for the eggs Benedict I usually always get and I’ll say that the quality has started to decrease over time. I’ve been going there more often and it’s still good, but it might be starting to lose the nostalgia I once had for it. I tried getting a garbage omelette and it wasn’t really that great. Average at best. I still love the owners and employees, but if I’m gonna be honest with myself it wasn’t as great as I once thought. 3.5−5 would be a fair unbiased assumption as what I think about Jimmys now. I would still recommend it to folks as its a nice local dinner.

Definitely a stereotypical«diner» in terms of the staff, the look, the food. It’s a small hole-in-the-wall, and it was pretty crowded on a Sunday morning, but we sat right away. The wait for our food was a little bit longer than it should’ve been, but not too bad. The food was very good — generous portions made it worth the price(about $ 22 for 2 omelets and 2 iced coffees). The waitresses were super friendly and attentive. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars was because the seating was very uncomfortable. We sat at the«bar» and the stools were tough to sit in for the time we were there. I think they could improve their ambiance a bit without losing that old-fashioned diner vibe.

Food is regulation diner breakfast food. Good but waaaaay too ‘townie’ for me there. Went in with my family and was stared down like I was an alien.

Exactly what you would look for in a local family ‘greasy spoon’ diner. The staff was friendly enough for working since 6AM. The food, cooked to order, may have taken a while to come out, but was hot and delicious. We went with the omelets, which came with home fries and toast. Omelets were chock full of the fillings promised and constructed well. They weren’t as massive as some breakfast places, but I liked this because I was actually functional the rest of the day. There was definitely more than enough food on my plate for breakfast or brunch. Home fries were super hot, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Prices were 8 or 9 $ for our omelet plates, a good price for the amount of food we got. We’re happy to have a nice diner spot like this nearby and look forward to coming back to try more of the menu.

What a great place for breakfast! The prices are awesome and the food is excellent as well as the service. I have eaten in and done take out and every time the food has been above average. Unlike places like IHOP, Jimmy’s allows you mix up how you want your eggs to be cooked. They offer three eggs and I always get 2 scrambled and one over easy. The bacon is awesome and crispy like potato chips, just the way I like it! The pancakes are out of this world as well as the Hot Shot Omelette. I can’t wait to come back and try more items off the menu.

Based on all the positive reviews, I was sure I was walking into a great little dive. My impression is that it’s just a dive. I was in the area, and I love diners, so I thought I’d give breakfast a try. Large list of omelettes, tried the Portuguese omelette because I love chorizo. Took longer than I expected, it appears the one short order cook would make omelettes one or two at a time. I grew up in NYC and for me, home fries, are the product of sitting on the grill for hours with a great crunchy, sometimes burnt, outside and soft creamy texture within. When my dish finally arrived, I was horrified to see deep fried tater-tot like«home fries.» They were dry, overcooked and probably had ten minutes of attention for the day’s batch. Strike one. The omelette was more eggs than ingredients, which was hard to do considering there was(theoretically) chorizo, peppers, onions and well, the cheese was over abundant. The pieces of theoretical ingredients were chopped so finely it was hard to tell exactly what they were, and of course, they were over cooked, like the eggs. The only thing cooked properly was the cheese, which overpowered everything else. The omelette was so dry, I asked for ketchup, hot sauce and A1 to make my own moisture revival therapy for the poor thing. This was not the sort of place that I felt would be interested in any feedback that was not positive, so I didn’t say anything. I’m not one to whine online without attempting to let the place know, but I didn’t think it would matter or be appreciated here. I’d like to write off the quality to the number of orders, but since they were prepared sequentially, that’s not really the case.

Great diner-type food in a small and cute place. We waited a few minutes for a table since they were all full(a good sign in my book). As soon as we were seated we ordered drinks right away. Everything we ordered(omelettes and home fries) was correct and tasted wonderful. Short wait for the food too. Decent sized portions and all of it served hot. Prices were average and service was way above average. Constantly checking if we need anything is another plus! We’ll definitely be back!

I grew up working in a diner. I have been a short order cook, a waiter, a host, prep cook, meat slicer, and on and on and on. My standard for a good diner/breakfast place is extremely high. Jimmy’s family restaurant meets those standards. Normally a large menu turns me off. I don’t know how someone can cook so many meals so well with fresh ingredients and such consistency. Jimmy’s family restaurant can do that. Whether lunch or breakfast, if you see something that piques your interest I highly recommend you indulge yourself. The home fries aren’t quite to my taste but the eggs at breakfast and the burgers at lunch imply an expert grill man. That coupled with the friendly and polite waitstaff rank this place at the top of my list.

Precisely what we were looking for: a typical American diner serving a large, inexpensive, tasty breakfast. My sausage & cheese omelette and my boyfriend’s «kitchen sink» omelette both had excellent fillings-to-cheese ratios(neither too sparse nor so much going on that the egg strains to barely contain everything). The side of bacon was crispy and generous. The French toast was DELICIOUS — I rather wished I’d just gotten a full meal of instead of just one piece as a side! Free coffee refills, plenty of nearby parking, comfy booths, and friendly waitstaff rounded out a pleasant brunch.

J&D review Service was very good. Coffee was bottomless and service was fast. 3 egg, Hash browns and toast for under 5 bucks. Food was cooked to order and fresh. Bring cash, no cards are accepted. Overall J&D would come here again.

Stopped in for breakfast while visiting family. Good solid no nonsense breakfast with honest prices. The eggs were good sized the meats were tasty and the coffee was hot and tasty. The place had lots of locals in it. Always a good sign. I’d go back in a minute.

Great little diner. Owner and staff are welcoming and friendly. Food was delicious. Space is small and seating limited. The wait was a little longer than I expected but there were 2 cooks serving the whole place. Give the guys a break! You must stop and enjoy this place.

Jimmy’s is a small diner with nothing particularly special to offer. Not terrible by any means, but I wouldn’t go back. I ordered eggs benedict, which was served with a slice of American cheese, which confused me. Our server was very nice and attentive, which was the best part of the experience. She kept our coffee cups full, which is always appreciated. The food was served quickly. Worst of all, I was surprised at the end of the meal when, upon sitting with my credit card on top of the check for ten minutes, we were informed that they only accept cash. The closest ATM was a several minute walk across a very busy road. Also, a tip: This place is set back from the road and can be difficult to find. It’s in a small shopping center with a bunch of brick buildings that you can see as you drive by. Turn into the shopping center even though you can’t see a sign for Jimmy’s from the road and drive toward the back.

Friendly staff. Good food. Probably the only Diner style place in that area. Place gets quite busy during weekends. Mexican omelette is wonderful and their Chicken Sandwich is awesome as well. Stay away from their orange juice.

Horrible food. Horrible service. Owner who argues with you that the food is good when it clearly is not. Rancid condiments and pickles were old and soggy … and the charge ala carte for low quality items.

I ordered a regular ham & egg Bennie, and it took 30mins«no exaggeration» for my food to arrive. When I finally got my food, the eggs were way too over cook and the sauce for the Bennie tasted literary like cream cheese. I won’t recommend going to this restaurant if you are looking for some good quality food. Beware, this place«ONLY accept cash». it was a good thing that we have some cash, lol. Otherwise we will be washing the dishes.

Every Friday, the office orders breakfast from a nearby diner, Jimmy’s Family Restaurant. The diner has been family owned and operated for many years and serves your typical breakfast foods featuring 38 omelettes on their menu and that is not including the«Build your own Omeltte» choice. They also offer a variety of lunch options ranging from sandwiches to seafood entrees. I’m not proud to admit that I usually get a bacon, egg and cheese on a toasted bagel to cure my hangover from«Thirsty Thursday.» Not only do I eat my own sandwich, but I also freeload off my boss’s Home Fries and toast that comes with his usual order of Tomato and Feta Cheese Omlette. I guess you can say, this weekly régime has definitely added to my waistline, but who can resist bacon? Once in a while, I get the Homemade Blueberry Muffin that is grilled lightly to a perfect crisp on the outside and warm and soft on the inside. It truly does melt in your mouth. Prices are slightly higher than your typical diner fare, a bacon, egg and cheese on a bagel will cost you about $ 4.60 not including tax. Considering the quality, consistency and service, it’s all worth it! Next time you are craving a good homemade breakfast, stop by Jimmy’s in Burlington, It’s definitely worth a try!
