Harper’s first hair cut was a dream. I was worried about her first experience, but the environment and the competent hair styles who were fast, friendly and easygoing with kids made it easy!

Four stars because the cut was little uneven at the top at first. So I asked to have it fixed and one of the stylists did right away although they were booked back to back. Other than that, I was completely satisfied with customer service and the way staffs treated my son. I will come back for his next haircut.

I brought my son to this Snip Its location for his first haircut. It was walk in service. We were there on a Tuesday morning at 10am and they took him right away. The cut itself was uneventful, other than me snapping pictures constantly of him in his first smock and salon chair, and it didn’t take too long. They honored a 12 dollar coupon for his first cut, which can be found on their website. They told me the coupon needs to be printed for them to honor it. My son received a prize and a certificate of achievement for his first cut. It was sweet, but I am not sure if I will continue there long term.

My son is a wonderful child, but he’s not always the bravest. This is never more evident than when it’s time to take him to get his hair cut. In the year and a half we’ve been getting his hair cut, we’ve probably tried six different people. He’s only not cried two or three times, and one of those was at Snip-Its. The woman who cut his hair was very friendly and laid back. I warned her that he is terrified of the sound clippers make, and she didn’t give me a hard time about not using them.(This has not been the case with others. I had one woman tell me that she couldn’t do his hair without them. When I told my stylist this, she was like«Yeah, that’s a lie.») She did end up using them at the end a little but only after it was apparent that he was comfortable enough in the situation that he wouldn’t have a meltdown. When he did appear to be getting stressed, she turned on a video(just a stupid promotional thing where shears and hairdryers dance and sing but still…) and let him play with a little airplane. At the end you are given a card which you put into a machine that then spits out a prize for the kid to take home. We also got a sucker for my son and animal crackers for my one-year-old. I’m actually looking forward to taking him back there because it was so stress free. However, there were bits I didn’t adore. You can’t make an appointments, unless you have a VIP membership — whatever that is. You can pay ahead for five cuts or something — maybe that’s the VIP thing? Which leads me to my next complaint — it’s not cheap. I know you’re receiving a specialized service(I guess…), but it was almost $ 23 with tip for a two year old to get his hair cut. Maybe that’s not bad, but it felt steep. The waiting area is also very small without many things to occupy kids. This may not be a big deal most of the time, but we were something like third in line, and it felt awkward squishing into this small area with two other mothers and five kids. And because you can’t make appointments, we ended up being there for an hour, which is a REALLY long time to occupy kids in a small space. So, it worked for us, but I wasn’t in love with the experience.
