Never fails to impress. Great happy hour, great cocktails, foosball and pinball in a large and comfortable space. By far the best bar in the area.

My seat was adequately stable. The beer was exactly as advertised. I felt that at 4:26 on a Saturday afternoon I was sitting in the engine room of a finely tuned machine. The bartender has gentle eyes and strong hands. Out of politeness I initially refused his embrace. On second offer I accepted and I immediately found myself on a magic carpet ride to all the things my parents never gave me and the world took away from me. I am complete. Oh– the microwaved chicken patty sandwich was really good. I’m completely serious — perfect little snack at the right price. I totally recommend it. And the bartender was totally cool, left me alone in a good way but was still friendly. I like that in a barman.

I’ve never been here but I’m sure it’s great. I bet I’m going to walk up the bartender and go «hey bud» and he’ll say«hey man, you’re looking great today!» «Thanks I’ve been trying lately!» «Well it shows!» And then I’ll go «30 push-ups a day!» And he’ll be real modest like«Wow that’s 30 more than I can do.» And then he’ll pour the beer and hand it to me. And I’ll say, «looks great, do you accept credit?» And he’ll go «Nah, but for you we do!» And at this point I’m pumped, «Bartender, you’re the best!» And then he’ll get friendly, «Call me by my real name.» «Sure what is it?» he’ll say something dope like Luke or Sal. «Alright Sal or Luke, I’ll see you around!» And then he’ll end it with some trademark closer of his, «Take care man, never change.» Never will man. Never will.

The Owner Likes To Harass Black People A friend of mine ordered two beers and shot, but realizes too late that she only has 1 buck for a tip. Oh well. Not her finest hour, though she offered to charge despite it being a cash only bar(which, like, it’s 2015, dude, stop cheating your taxes). The owner of the joint, some young German-flag bomber jacket wearing guy, start harassing her at the bar, but she removes herself. This is the insane part: He follows her across the bar and ~continues~ to harass her, this time opening up his tantrum onto me and my partner, the two people sitting with her. Finally, he tells us he’s not throwing us out, though we should leave. BUTTHEN: he looks my partner up and down, the only WHITE person among us, and says«you’re probably fine.» When I and the other black person involved – the only two black people in the bar, as it turns out – had tried to deescalate the situation, it was the white guy he chose to leave alone. I’ve heard anecdotally that this has happened to A LOT of black people at this bar. Don’t come here, unless your the sort of person who the owner seems to be keeping this place for, the sort of person who scares when then there’s a little extra melanin around.

Casual. Nice layout. Big back area to sit in. Nice front bar to sit at, too. Spacious. Read: you’re not being jostled about every 30 seconds, and excuse-me excuse-me’d to death. $ 3 Budweiser is a godsend in a neighborhood that now gets its rocks off on selling basic beer for absurdly high prices. This is a nice respite. If you want something casual, albeit standard, this is a good place to stop in.

Gotta say, I really dig this place. I went here for the first time on Halloween weekend, just after partying with some friends in the area. Nice place with a bunch of sweet pinball machines in the back(there wasn’t a change machine, which was the only downside). The bartenders were nice and the prices were good. Nice drink selection overall and the atmosphere was laid back and cozy. Lots of seating and room for a group of people to come and hang out. The bar was really clean and is easy to get to via public transit. Plus side is it’s close to tons of fast food that’s open late, so you can grab a bite before or after.

YES! This place rules. Now that my favorite bar in Bushwick got shut down by the assheads who own the«Whiskey Brooklyn» franchise, I’ve been looking for a replacement. Birdy’s is the shit. Great bartenders, super personable, lots of space, both at the bar and plenty of benches. The back has three pinball machines, which I approve of. The lighting is cool and low, but not too low. Definitely get to this place– whoever owns it obviously cares about what makes a good bar great. And doesn’t hurt that it’s a Mets bar. The place has a tv, but tastefully, it’s never on, except I imagine when something unmissable is happening. I really like this bar. Good job, guys!!!

Love this new and upcoming bar. Met the owner Andy, and must i say, class act guy. Felicia and Dave are the best bartenders, hands down in these parts of Brooklyn. Pinball and old school photo boths in the back, along with some extra seating if you have a party more than 5. Overall, i say COME and support this bar and trust me, you ll leave happy.

Mets bar. That is all. Just kidding. Here comes my review! I’m not a fan of overpacked and super loud bars. So I love Birdy’s as it is right now. Chill place with plenty of booths and bar seats. The one bartender there when we came in was very friendly and attentive even as he tried to watch the World Series game that was on at the time. I don’t know how the $ 7 cocktails work. Does the price only apply to the ones on the menu or any cocktail? Anyhow, we ended up grabbing a few beers. Decent selection. I was definitely tricked into getting«Damn Good» beef jerky though haha. Was definitely not what I’d been expecting, sadly(hint: packaged). But it was all good. I was hungry. PS: There are some arcades in the back.

Summary: pretty standard new-Brooklyn neighborhood bar Value: High; shot and beer specials are a great value and other good prices on drinks($ 4 beer) Location: There are a few spots popping up along Myrtle in the area but Birdy’s offers a more casual vibe that the others. Ambiance: I was there around 8 on a Friday and it was crowded but not packed. The bar offers a few pretty large spaces with plenty of tables to sit and talk. It seemed to be mostly twenty-something people that work in the city but live in the area – dress code was not corporate but tattoos and piercings were limited. Recommended if you live nearby and are looking for a reliable cool place that won’t cost too much.

Love the vibe here! Cocktail menu is interesting and there’s plenty of room and booth seating. The bartenders have a nice attitude and music is pretty sweet. All and all a nice new local bar. Can’t wait to go back.
