I have been to cobra club NUMEROUS times and never had a problem until a few weeks ago. Some colleagues and I came in at 8am on a Tuesday for«happy hour»(we are nurses who work nights) the girl behind the counter took my ID and then told me that she couldn’t serve me because my license was expired(which I knew and I had the temporary ID but was still waiting for the official one to come in the mail) — being 31 years old i havent had to worry about showing ID lately but I left the bar and went home to get my passport in addition to 2 school IDs. The passport expired May 2016 which was that month. She STILL would not serve me which is pretty ridiculous considering I don’t even think she was old enough to drink herself. The law is the law I get it, However this employee was absurdly rude to me and the rest of the people I was with. When one coworker went to go get another drink she was asked«is that for HER» and pointed in my direction. It was really over the top and borderline comical to be honest. I understand that maybe she didn’t want to be serving booze at 8am(the bar also does breakfast and coffee during the day) but guess what, we didn’t really want to be up working from 7pm –7am…needless to say these nurses will be finding a new place to have morning drinks at because who wants to be berated by a rude 20 year old… we get enough of that at our job!

Bought one drink and left my card open. Accidentally left without my card, so I called the bar that night and multiple times the next day. No one answered; just a machine that says they don’t check messages. So the next day I go all the way back to the bar, and the bartender says it’s not there. I asked him where else it could be and he insisted it wouldn’t be anywhere else. So because they don’t answer the phone, I got to waste over an hour of my day going back to this bar to pick up a credit card that they lost.

Punk rock, beer, and karaōke. If I’m looking to hit up a place that’s perfectly loud and gritty, this is it.

This review is for the children’s classes at Cobra Club. This is one of the only places in Bushwick to bring your kid when you can’t go the playground and we appreciate it so much. My daughter loves the variety of things to participate in. The classes range about $ 13-$ 18 or you can buy a class pass. I love that you can also get coffee and snacks in the same place.

The next kind of bar I love after tiki bars, are just straight dive bars(the best tiki bars are usually dive – but I digress). If you are looking for a great dive, look no further. Reasonably priced drinks, great staff, and usually a good crowd.(Speaking of crowds, yes it does get crowded but great vibes anyway.)

The host of the Friday Night Karaōke is incredibly aggressive. He called my girlfriends and I «b-words» and to «get off the stage» when we misunderstood the name he called. He pointed in our faces and was incredibly rude even after we apologized for the misunderstanding. I know this is a hard job but if you don’t like it than choose a new path.

To the scumbag who stole my fiancée ring out of my bag i hope you die. To the owners and staff. I love you guys. The best bar in Brooklyn.

This place is an institution in this area, which in the past few years has acquired the extremely annoying moniker of «Jefftown», after the Jefferson Ave L stop that serves it. Most will agree that this area surpassed environs of the preceding Morgan L stop some time ago, despite that area having a but of a head start with its development(gentrification?) with Robertas and what followed. This bar, like the best establishments in the area give a glimmer of hope to some of us long time New Yorkers and indicates that the neighborhood, in spite of rapid and inevitable yuppification, nonetheless is home to some amount of the edgy creative energy once found in the now-Disneyfied precincts of Williamsburg, the East Village and Lower East side. The spiritual descendants of the gritty and proudly dirty types that once filled the late lamented dive institutions eras pasts in those hoods carry the torch as much as possible in this increasingly financial city here and at other like minded neighborhood haunts. Drinks are cheap(ish) weirdos abound, and all types of randomness is featured in the expansive but appropriately dank back room including, most importantly my favorite Karaōke in town!

Unpretentious bar where you can do whatever you want really… shoot pool, make out, have a smoke in their side outdoor garden, shoot things at their arcade games, dance, sing, whatever tickles your fancy. No one really gives two shirts what you do.

After last night, this is my new spot. I don’t even live nearby, but it’s worth the trek out from Williamsburg. Friday night I typically want to ply myself full of liquor to forget about the harsh work week I just had and then crash on my couch staring at the countless hours of DVR shows that have recorded all week. But now I have a reason to actually go out on Friday nights. The Friday night, back room comedy show which transitions into karaōke. Pretty much two of my favorite things in the world. I love to laugh at undiscovered comedians and I love to drunkenly sing. Win win.

Amazing place on the inside– although seeing it from the outside, you’d be weary. Bartenders are great, nice beer and specialty cocktails. They have a pool table and it’s a huge plus for me. The devil lock and who killed Marilyn cocktails are amazing. Also the seasonal watermelon beer is a fav!

Jesus I had so much fun here. I came to see Force Majeure, a vaudeville show that was taking place in the back room. I’ve been to the Slipper Room, and Tiny Dangerous Fun at Branded Saloon, but that’s been my only experience with burlesque/vaudeville. The flyer said ‘mind guaranteed blown” and I left very satisfied. The very first performer was Albert Cadabra, who had the audacity to drag me up on stage to be his beautiful assistant. He may have gotten a little more than we bargained for, and despite being terrified, I ended up having such a great time up there. And getting to see a little male burlesque is always a rare treat. We also got see Corn Mo, described on the flyer as a novelty rock god and as our hostess of the evening aptly asked, How is this guy not famous yet? He plays his crazy accordion with original songs that follow these rambling awkward hilarious stream of consciousness stories. My favorite act was the last one, a burlesque performance done by Ula Uberbusen. I will follow this woman anywhere. This had to be one of the most powerful, disturbing, and beautiful performance pieces I’ve ever had the honor of seeing. I had tears in my eyes and gave a violent standing ovation. I won’t describe it, giving anything at all away would ruin it, but seek her out, you won’t be disappointed. All of the staff, from the hostess of the show to our cocktail waitress was extremely friendly and kind. The crowd in general was extremely friendly. I ordered the Devil Lock cocktail, tequila with more than a little Tabasco, it will wake you the hell up. And the music was amazing. I wasn’t expecting to hear Dio and Iron Maiden, and I wasn’t expecting to be digging Bushwick so damn much. Good on you Cobra, good on you.

Who doesn’t love a dimly lit dive bar blasting heavy metal? I don’t know what it’s like on most nights, but it struck me as a biker hangout from all the heavy-set, bearded, tattooed men throwing down shot after shot. T’was a cool place to stop in, grab a few cheap drinks, and catch up with a friend. Found the bathroom graffiti oddly charming. Would come back for the karaōke experience everyone else is talking about!

I’m a big fan of this Bushwick dive bar. Besides the(very) dim lighting, Cobra Club has all I want in a local watering hole — cheap prices, friendly service, bar games(e.g., billiards), and a patio space. I was particularly impressed by their generous happy hour: 4−9pm, ALL drafts for $ 4.(And we’re talking 21st Amendment and Six Point, not your average Miller.) Can’t beat that! I also want to give a shout out to their weekly FREE comedy show Friday nights 9pm, which was a lot of fun when I went. I look forward to coming back.

This place has karaōke which is cool and a TV running weird movies on it. It’s got a decent amount of space, but the bartender was a total dick to me and I didn’t end up staying past one drink. Pretty cool place to hang and not too expensive though.

This place kind of reminds me of El Bar in Philly… awesome karaōke, cheap ass drinks, apparently there’s food. I’m a fan! The people that come here REALLYREALLY suck, which unfairly detracted from the experience, but hey I guess that’s what Bushwick is now. The bartenders are sweet and I had fun though!

This is a bar you could live in. In the morning, great coffee shop setup in the morning with an awesome brew of freshly ground Counter Culture coffee and pastry rack with Dough doughnuts, muffins, croissants, and vegan stuff. Also metal yoga. Haven’t been, but love that they have that in a bar. In the evening, solid happy hour and all the house cocktails are named for misfits songs. Sometimes Larry plays cartoons on the weekend. Trivia night, live bands, burlesque shows, and lots of themed parties are also all pretty sweet.

I’ve been here a few times and I always thought it was decent. However, this morning was not a pleasant experience. It began with me and my two friends going in for coffee and pastries. The bartender took roughly ten minutes to make two lattes and one drip coffee. We sat and ate our pastries, and then I decided I wanted a alcoholic coffee drink. I asked him for a mixed drink, something with baileys or khalua in it, and he offered me an irish coffee but asked for my ID. The bartender then proceeded to spend 10 minutes making a bloody mary for another customer. When he finished, he spent another five examining my ID. After looking at it thoroughly, he proceeded to tell me it was fake(I am 25 years old, both of my friends are 22). I asked him why he thought it was fake, and he proceeded to just tell me to, «try it somewhere else, but not here». My two friends showed him their ID’s to confirm that mine was in fact real, and that we were all of age. He threatened to take the ID and call the police, which I told him he was more than welcome to do. My friends and I asked him again why he thought it was fake, and he proceeded to tell us to «get the f*** out». Our ID’s are from a neighboring state, and any experienced bartender would have seen them and recognized them as real. Furthermore, any bartender that cares about returning customers would have been much more respectful about the whole situation. I will not ever return to this establishment, their bartender is extremely rude, and they clearly do not care about maintaining a quality business that brings customers back. On a side note, my pastry had raisins in it. It was a travesty, it was dry and awful. and I hate raisins. There was no warning sign to indicate the presence of raisins.

cant go wrong with a hybrid karaōke bar, ammi right? Crucially, the karaōke happens in a back room so you don’t have to listen to anyone except for your friends sing(who really enjoys that?) the bar area is fun, complete with video games with GUNS! also, outdoor smoking area with wooden benches for making drunks friends! this place is a gem, worth heading out to bushwick to check out.

I loved this place right off the bat! The atmosphere was welcoming and the tunes were amazing! Nothing quiet beats the heat it the middle of the day like listening to the Clash, drinking a delicious iced coffee and eating a yummy bran muffin with chunks of ginger. I was drooling over the«Dough“nuts! They had flavors from Dulce De Leche to Hibiscus! Next time! I will definitely be returning.
