The Keep

I’d love to come back here! This place is decorated really cool. Never boring. They even have a motorcycle inside. I wonder if it still runs?
The bartender was cool and approachable.
Graffiti in the bathroom is cool.
Backyard would be good on a summer night, but inside is more entertaining.
They have live music on the weekends.

This is one of those bars that the owners put in their lives and souls into. It is off the main street, secretive, excellent vibe, great interior deign, and most importantly, great drinks and service.
This is an excellent bar to show off to your tourist friends when they visit New York.

Love this bar. So laid back. Draws a great crowd. Great bartenders, amazing décor. I bring everyone here who visits Bushwick. Wednesday night Gypsy Live Jazz is amazing. Little smoking patio out the back is basic but fine. So much to look at in there. It is curio-​central with great style and I always see something I had never noticed before. Super clever also the way they renovated with the fake window/​mirrors along the wall across from the bar. Love the place. Oh, and Stephanie is lovely :-) I left my pay check in there once and she opened early the next day to get it for me. Good people abound here.

It’s a bummer, but NYC residents tend to become inured to awesome things: there are so many here, it can be hard to keep recognizing and being blown away by them. But The Keep succeeded in getting my attention and keeping me spellbound. It’s a huge place with a beautiful back patio that’s absolutely dripping with lovingly-​curated objects of all sorts. It’s like an antique store-​carnival-​1800s-​salon that serves (good) drinks! My friend and I had a great time just admiring it all. Plus the bartender was super friendly (something I am never inured to) and offered to deal us in on his card game. I will be back for sure! Oh, and there’s a *great* pizza shop next door, and you can bring the pizza to the bar if you want to.

Since The Keep is only a block away from my apartment and has such a laidback atmosphere, it tends to be my go-​to on nights where I just want to kick it with a good cocktail and a friend or two. Reminiscent of your grandmother’s attic in the best way — it’s brimming with antique décor that’ll keep your eyes entertained for days.
Some nights they have a live band or a DJ playing old school hiphop, techno or 80s jams. I can dig the music.
Overall a great local spot, I recommend it.

I don’t know what I would do without The Keep in my life. What a respite from all the tiny, pricey obnoxious bars out in Bushwick/​Ridgewood. Beautifully decorated, managed with love and the staff seem to genuinely care about the business and its clientele. I didn’t know what I was missing until I found this gem. Long live The Keep!

Awesome spot for great beers and fun drinks in a really cool atmosphere. DJ on the weekends, calm and cool during the week. Definitely a great spot to get drinks any day of the week!

I don’t want to review this place because I hope to keep it a secret but I’m so in love that I have to show my love!!! The pear bourbon drink was amazing. The battle tender (I think his name was Tom?) was amazing and the décor — yes, you guessed it. AMAZING! Added bonus that you can get delivery from the burger joint down the street. This is my new go to spot.

If there are more bars like these… I think I’m going to be an alcoholic forever. I love the vintage touch to this place; from the antique sofas to the random fixtures decorated across the lounge, I’m smitten. My friend and I enjoyed our visit in the bar area. We only ordered beers ($ 6 on draft). One star knocked off for the bartender assuming that I had finished my beer. I wasn’t done, and she took it away.
Quick tip: Pizza place next door is AWESOME and doesn’t close until 2am!

The space is so unique and amazing… the owners are even better! One of my favorite places that is close to my apartment! I highly recommend it for anyone coming to Bushwick /​Ridgewood.

I’m surprised this spot doesn’t have more reviews. It has more character than any other bar I’ve been in. And it’s not manufactured pipe lighting and rustic furniture generic-​gentrified character either. I’m talking, I think they have a full-​time curator.
You’ll feel like Arthur at his round table, a King in his court. Check this place out.

The keep has a great atmosphere. Interesting and eclectic collection all throughout. $ 4 beers are a lifesaver. Stephanie is a gracious host and will make you feel at home. They have a backyard. The only reason I didn’t give it a 5 star is cash only but there is 24 you atm next door.

Love this place! Great décor, kitschy and comfortable. Good vibes, and the pizza spot next door is the best.

Such a wonderful time here last Friday night! I got together with a small group of friends, and we wanted to check out a new place. One of my friends suggested The Keep mainly because it looks a little like a haunted house inside. There are antiques all over the place and there’s A LOT to look at, the vibe is really chill and I love the décor. The fancy drinks are awesome, and I literally can’t say enough great things about our bartender Lauren. She was sweet, professional, chatty and made us some great drinks! We’ll definitely be coming back.

I was here for literally 15 minutes, once, and I already want to go back and bring everyone I know.
The inside of this place is like the haunted mansion of my dreams. Everything is sparkly and intriguing yet old and classy AF. Our bartender was a doll, and the orange martini she handed me for $ 10 was on point.
Bummed that they don’t *yet* offer food, so I had to take my hangry friends elsewhere. But I’ll be back, and I’ll have satiated homies, and all will be good.

I love the décor of this place. It reminded me of Jekyll & Hyde’s in the Village. It has a lot of thrift store paraphernalia all around. They have a full bar with craft beers on tap. They have a lot of lounge seating too. No food as of yet but there is a good pizzaria next door, as well as a large deli & Chinese food two doors over. There is some seating outside in the back alley for smokers too. The bartenders are all cute as well.
