Max Is Back

Bought a $ 1000 Christmas tree there and over 700 of the lights keep burning out. They won’t take the tree back to fix it until April/​May! I’m going to Strawberry Blossoms on Rt23 — the owner isn’t a Nasty miserable old guy. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE but I guess they don’t give crap about there customers — what a waist of money!

Max is Back is a great place to buy a Weber grill or beautiful patio furniture. When spring comes around, I go there several times, and love picking out beautiful colorful container plants, and later the perennials and annuals to make my garden thrive. Their selection is infinitely better, and their plants are much healthier, than the local building supply stores. In addition, their staff really knows about what they sell and can help you choose the right plants for your particular location. I don’t know any of their names, but I recognize the same faces year after year, and they are always helpful. It’s nice to have someone always ready to load a heavy item into my car, as well!

Just bought our tree home today. The NY Ranger fan that helped us did a great job picking out the perfect tree! Merry Christmas and Go Rangers!

Max is back was very easy to work with while purchasing a patio set… they always have been a place of great value for the garden, yard and Christmas decorations… they have always have great prices and they are very appreciative of your business… it beats the big box stores… hands down…

Horrible — Go to Home Depot instead !!
They don’t even guarantee an item that was defective. Their policy states not returns after 7 days. I just wanted the same item replaced. The manager was quite rude and only offered me a store credit. I will continue shopping at Home Depot — At least they guarantee the items they sell. Buyer Beware !!

Came here with my boyfriend looking for a Christmas tree for my parents. We were late in the game for getting a tree so our expectations were not high in finding the «perfect» tree. We looked around began walking toward the back and were stopped by one of the workers. This man may possibly be the absolute best employee next to the guy who loaded our tree but I’ll get to that… He educated us on the growth of the trees they offered, the pricing, the reason for buying one of the nursery trees etc. I told him how impressed I was with his knowledge and he thanked me. I also want to add he took the time to tell us all this while a line of people waited to have their trees loaded to their cars. After educating us, he bid us farewell and continued his job busting his butt carrying 2 trees at a time to be paid for and loaded. We found a tree, paid for it and waited in the LONG line. The men loading the trees were outstandingly hard workers, especially one in particular who loaded our tree. Younger guy… SPRINTED across the parking lot to make sure people were being taken care of in a timely fashion. He loaded our tree, took the time to notice our ice skates in the back seat of my car, quick small talker and a joyous worker. He wished us a merry Christmas and we were on or way. I couldn’t have been more impressed with this business. GREAT JOB KEEP IT UP.

Kind if ironic that a store that has wall-​to-​wall Christmas decorations, and an abundance of Christmas trees and outdoor displays, has a staff and manager that appeared to have been bitten by The Humbug. We were enjoying the displays & decorations, feeling the Christmas spirit. Then, we asked for assistance. We felt like the good feelings we had were sucked out of us by staff that too busy to help and abruptly dismissed us, or gave snippy replies to our questions. If you don’t mind being waited on by the Grinch, they do have beautiful items, which is why I gave them 3 stars.

Got a fantastic weber grill at a great price. Free delivery, arrived in a few days, they called before they arrived. Free grill cover included and a $ 50 gift card to use in the store which is jam-​packed with seasonal accessories– I bought covered kebab skewers, some grilling utensils, and gardening soil. The seeds I bought produced hundreds if not thousands of delicious cherry tomatoes. The sales person took time to explain the types of grills, and also helped describe ideal growing conditions for my seeds, and how and when to plant them. The store is small and a bit pricey but gives you a hometown feel and great customer service that you can’t get in big chains like lowes or Home Depot (I shopped there first before buying from max is back.)

I live locally in Butler and always go to Max is Back for my flowers in the spring and my chistmas tree in the winter. Home Depot and Lowes are very close by but their selection is aweful and their plants are always half dead before you buy them. Max is Back has a wide variety of flowers, plants and shrubs to choose from and plenty of friendly approachable people on staff walking around to help you if you have questions. They will always help you load your car and never exoect a tip, but are delighted when they receive one. Highly reccommed.

Max is back is a great home and garden store, focusing on the garden side of things a bit more. The selections of plants cannot be beat. The staff is mostly local high school kids but they are friendly and helpful. Prices are pretty good for the plants at least and can be on the higher side for items like garden equipment. Their Christmas tree selection is also incredible and prices are very good. They also have a huge selection of artificial trees too.

Good variety of plants and far better quality than the crap u get at Home Depot. This place has thrived for years, even since Home Depot and Lowes opened up right down the road, for a good reason. Also a very good selection of BBQ grills and very good prices on grills end of season. Also a great selection of artificial trees, ornaments, etc. at Christmas time… and very good deals right after Christmas. And best of all, cheap, fresh Christmas trees.

r.b. from Astoria should stay in NY. N.Y. is rude, arrogant, obnoxious and overpriced. I’ve shopped Max is back for almost 15 years. Only plants that last and continue to grow. Lowes, Home Depot and everywhere else, the plants die, or don’t grow that big.

I purchased numerous decorations from this establishment and one of them broke, so I tried to return it. Aside from the fact that they would not exchange it or give me a refund (or any compensation whatsoever), the person who I spoke to was rude, nasty and told me «It’s not my problem». Their prices are ridiculous and I will never ever shop there again.
