Horrible. Downloaded Unilocal just to review this place. Waited 40 minutes(only one other party here) for an appetizer and it was disgusting definitely not sushi quality fish. Still waiting on our rolls. Never coming back.

Stopped in right around 4pm on a Saturday for a light bite to eat. We were the only people there and the sushi bar up front didn’t seem to be in use. We began to worry about it a little and what kind of fish quality we were going to get. I guess they just opened or something. When I went out to my car 5 minutes later the sushi guy was up front setting everything up. It seemed much better. We ordered 5 simple rolls for the 3 of us. They came out relatively quickly and looked nice. I didn’t try the philly or cali rolls but my daughter said she liked them. I did eat the spicy tuna and the salmon roll however, and both were excellent. The spicy tuna had a vein of something crunchy in the tartar it that made it. The salmon roll had a big fat slice of fish in it that was soft and fatty and absolutely delicious. As good or better than any other sushi I’ve had.

Although the overall atmosphere is warm and inviting, the quality of the sushi is average and the service leaves a lot to be desired. Prices are on par with what most sushi restaurants charge, but the inattentive service is what really dampened the experience. Waiting at least 15 minutes to order a beverage and another 10 minutes until it arrives doesn’t necessarily make the greatest impression, especially when there’s only a total of four average size parties being served.

Hands down the best sushi in butler. Mizuki is always fresh and delicious. The sushi is some of the best I’ve ever eaten. Weather you go for lunch or dinner it won’t disappoint. The place has a welcoming atmosphere and the staff are friendly and helpful. And don’t worry if you’re not a sushi fan they have a variety of cooked dishes to choose from. Try a bento box you’ll get a little of everything. My only criticism is if you’re ordering for pick up call early sometimes it takes a bit. But that’s ok because what you’ll get is superb!

I’ve been here a few times and the sushi isn’t the best, but it’s also not the worst. When you walk in there’s a beautiful sushi bar and a table next to the front to window. It’s kind of awkward to get to the dining room, you need to pass through a hallway that has a reach in refrigerator to get to the dining area. The couple of times that I’ve been here, the dining area was not very busy, but there seems to be a steady flow of people getting take-out. So, it’s pretty safe to say that they do more take-out than dine-in. The service is so-so, the wait staff are attentive but, not attentive enough, for the lack of people dining in, it seemed like our sushi took a while to get to us. On my last visit the wife and I ordered an assortment of sushi; the Pearl Roll was very yummy. Unlike other sushi places in the area they don’t give you a salad and miso soup with your sushi, which is fine. Since the take-out is so popular, I’m going to have give it a try next time.

Just came home from ordering takeout at this place. It was completely empty and it still took 15 minutes to make my order. The place is dirty, dust everywhere. I ordered the California Roll, Shrimp Tempura Roll and Spicy Tuna Roll and its was not tasty at all. I’ve had a lot of sushi so I know when it’s bad and when it’s good. And this place is horrible. The rolls all have a funny taste to them, and the spicy tuna roll tastes so bad that I had to spit it out. I’ve never written a review on this site but I felt compelled after one bite of eating from this place. Do yourself a favor… go somewhere else. Save your money. I just wasted $ 22 dollars

My husband and I have been here many times. I have brought out of towner’s there because of the food ONLY. The solo waitress was never attentive. We had loved the food. Last night was our last trip. First let me say that there is No ambiance to speak of, every time we have gone we were one of two or three tables at the most, many times the only table. You sit in a large empty room alone. They never put music on and I have had to ask for it. I used to be a waitress many years ago and would think that most waitresses would know to bring a bucket for your white wine. We needed to request that and that she refill our water, bring more ice, bring forks. I felt like I was bothering her texting time. Which we could actually see this visit as we requested to sit in the front window which was in full view of the waitress station. Last evening the quality and portions took an enormous dive. When I sent back my tempura for not being hot, my server returned the exact same pieces after they were dropped in the fryer again. After our meal while my husband was out if sight she actually asked the question…“How was everything ?” I did complain and she made no apologies, she just said«Ok «and that was all. When the food was awesome we could dismiss the rude server, when both are no longer decent we won’t return.

I went to this restaurant on Valentine’s Day for dinner with my child. Upon arriving, I noticed there were several tables occupied. The hostess hurriedly seated us and we sat for several minutes with no menu. There was no request to provide us water or tea. Once we got the menus, it took a good 15 minutes before our order was taken. Listening to the hostess talking to other customers, it turned out that 2 waitresses called out that day because they were unable to get in. While I understand that things happen, we should have been notified that there would be a long wait as a result of this. Nothing was told to us. So long story short, we were there 1 ½ to 2 hours. While the food is actually not bad, I would have hoped for at least a 10−15% discount or a coupon for a return visit for the inconvenience(which it was). Nothing was done as a courtesy. I do not look for freebies, but when I am inconvenienced, I would hope the establishment would somehow try to make things right. I am debating on whether or not I will return.

Very good, fresh sushi & rolls. Very attentive service! Tried the seaweed salad, pepper tuna appetizer, sushi regular, a few rolls, and a few desserts. My green tea was kept hot and filled, was great to not have to ask! Will definitely go back!

Two tries and we would not return. A previous reviewer mentioned that the restaurant was«uncrowded». There’s a reason for that! The atmosphere is very unappealing and the service is terribly slow, considering that we were the ONLY diners at the time. The salad dressing was watery and there was about a 6 inch hair in my salad(not my hair color). The Tempura was heavily coated and tasteless. The Sushi was actually pretty good, but there was no excuse for the rest of the problems. Our first visit was when they first opened. We figured the problems were due to that, but now – 3 years later – the problems still exist. Being that there is another Sushi restaurant in the same town,(Yuki Hana)-I see no reason to return to Mizuki. It’s too bad, because one wants to encourage any restaurant that is serving something OTHER than pizza!

Above average BYOB place. Do the Beef Negimaki appetizer, Green Phoenix roll & Hawaiian roll without eel.

Surprisingly delicious sushi in this generally uncrowded restaurant. The staff is great and they always have a nice selection of jazz in the background. Definitely recommend!

I love this place and I always love coming here. The sushi is great, the salad is always fresh tasting, and the food is amazing. I usually order a bento box and that is a really great value. But all of their other entrée options are wonderful. Their dessert menu does not disappoint either, I recommend the tempura ice cream its amazing; Pretty much, Ive never ordered something that was bad. My only complaint? There is no ordering something different from the menu. Example, I asked if I can get a side of noodles instead of a full entrée size which I was told no because the chef cant cook a small portion. I don’t really get why but don’t let that stop you from coming in. And if you never had marble soda, don’t forget to order one they’re great. Its very quiet and nice, and every time I go there’s barely anybody there so no wait time. There isn’t much décor or atmosphere, but that doesn’t bother me at all. If you want amazing sushi and a great jappanese meal, definitely come to Mizuki.

For the first time in many nights out with the Mrs. for dinner, we didn’t go to our mainstay restaurant. Instead, we went to Mizuki, which is only about 5 minutes from where we live. I was very pleased with the food. I ordered the tiger roll(spicy tuna and eel) and scallops teriyaki. Both very good. Too many onions on the teriyaki plate, but otherwise quite delicious. And for dessert, we ordered the bananas and cheesecake tempura, which was simply delectable.

Surprisingly decent food in Butler, of all places. Went with my(elderly) father, who seemed to enjoy an entrée of Volcano(salmon) rolls. My vegetable and tofu soup was tasty, and the avocado and sweet potato rolls were also good, if unremarkable.

I am extremely happy to have this wonderful little Japanese place near me in Butler. I just ate there today with my girlfriend. The teriyaki chicken was excellent. Not too much teriyaki, the correct amount for a good dish. it’s not BBQ sauce, it’s just a flavoring. My sushi rolls were very good. Spicy Salmon is a classic, and I got one with chicken and cucumber which was excellent as well. Edamame was good, it’s hard to screw up steamed pods lol. I plan to go back to Mizuki as long as they’re open. I hope the people of Butler keep this place open too.

It is hard to believe that Butler NJ has two Japanese restaurants. I am a fan of Yuki Hana, and have always feared it could close due to lack of local interest in such wild and crazy cuisine such as Japanese food(Yikes, not pizza!) but much to my surprise, not only is Yuki doing well, but now we have Mizuki. The restaurant is a brand-spanking-new 3 days old and in the former location of Ribeye Jax(or John’s Pizza for you oldtimers) right on Main Street Butler. Red lanterns and flags, you can miss it. The layout hasn’t changed much since the Ribeye days, but a nice wood Sushi Bar has been added in the front, and things have been substantially spruced up all over. I only had time for a quick lunch, so this will be a brief review until I can set into some serious sushi decadence, but I am pleased so far. I had a Tonkatsu Bento, which included Miso Soup, Green Salad, 2 Shumai, Rice and a single cutlet. I added two pieces of sushi just so I could try it out. The quality, flavor and presentation of the sushi was excellent. The fish was cut a little large and thick for my taste, which seems to happen more often than not in sushi places that are not Japanese-owned, yet the texture was still excellent. The pork was very flavorful and well prepared, with a nice bit of sauteed veggy on it. The salad dressing was a bit watery, and did not have a great ginger bite to it. If you are a fan of ginger dressings, try the one at Yuki Hana, it is much better. The shumai seemed slightly over-steamed, and the dipping sauce was served under it, and was also a bit thin. Overall though, these are minor criticisms, and they have only been open for a few days, so I expect things will only improve. The service was extremely attentive, and they are currently(and automatically) adding a 20% grand opening discount to the entire bill. Don’t know how long that will last. The Bento was about $ 10, and the sushi about $ 2.50 per piece. Total bill was $ 13 after the discount, so the price was pretty reasonable considering I over ordered for lunch, and sushi is fairly expensive overall. All in all this is a major upgrade for this area, which is basically pizza, sandwich shops, Chinese, diners and the like. It will be interesting to see if they can survive the unadventurous eating habits that seem to rule the roost here, as well as the tightened belts that resulted from the recession.
