Every time we go the food is awesome!!! Sit at the bar a couple of times and the sushi chefs get to know you. We’ve never been disappointed. Our favorites are the sashimi salad with a yummy mustard dressing, oishi roll which always creatively served, garlic edemame, and the magic mountain roll with the hot vegetables on top is super!!! Place is always full so sometimes there’s a wait but it’s worth it. A packed restaurant tells you it’s good!

Sushi Nishi is the bomb – whenever I come, I always have a delicious experience! The environment is very welcoming – everything is well-lit inside, especially at night. The restaurant is very clean and service comprises of lovely Korean waiters who always make sure that you’re having a good time. Food is absolutely spot on every single visit! What’s really awesome is that sometimes the decorations of each roll is a little bit different every visit – for instance, I ordered the Oishi roll one day and it came with the cucumber cut up as an upright star, and a few weeks later, I ordered that same roll, and it came with daikon and a carrot slice shaped like a flower! Also, you can manipulate the rolls to your own liking, such as swapping for brown rice instead of white rice, or even eliminating the rice from the rolls all together which is what I do often. No flavor or taste sacrificed at all! Somethings you should always order are the Oishi roll, Dragon roll, salmon sashimi, Nishi roll, sashimi combo and rainbow roll! My only downfall is that there are no heaters by the outdoor tables, so you have to bring a thick jacket because it gets super cold!

Great food!!! Service a little slow but food is totally worth it. I recommend the spicy tuna rice cake(really spicy)! I also ordered some ribs that I couldn’t get to and when I left I forgot the box on the table. The witness ran out with it to give it to me, which was really sweet.

I keep hearing about this place from my friends so I finally had to opportunity to go for dinner. I’ve been getting mixed reviews from my friends, but in my opinion, this place was definitely worth the hype. It’s a pretty casual setting, and they have an wide variety on their menu. I definitely recommend the Uni Rice(especially if you enjoy uni). I will definitely be coming back to this restaurant more often!

Welcoming environment, clean, friendly staff and great sushi makes Sushi Nishi a great spot to try in Calabasas. I just finished my Pilates workout in the same strip mall and came over to Sushi Nishi for my first meal of the day. The service is phenomenal and the sushi chefs are so fun to watch especially if you’re sitting at the sushi bar. I had the Marylin Mon roll with spicy tuna, cucumber and avocado on the inside and albacore and fried onion on the outside. I added a Yummy Roll as well with spicy tuna, shrimp tempura and avocado. Both were great! I would come back to this sushi spot next time I’m in Calabasas.

Maybe my expectations were too high after reading all these good reviews. No doubt, food was good. But we left hungry and had to pick up some fast food after dinner here. We are not big people by any means, so that doesn’t happen often… Or at all. 2 people, $ 70… Still hungry! Service was fast not I wouldn’t say they’re super friendly, probably because they’re so popular and busy.

Overrated. Snapper carpaccio was sliced way too thick, like gnawing on thick cartilage. The sauce was good, though. Agoura roll had too much spicy mayo and/or seasoning. Servers were friendly. We went there because of the high rating but definitely did not meet our expectations.

Love Sushi Nishi. The food is always consistently amazing and the service is tremendous. They remember your previous orders, drinks once your become a regular, which is something I always value. We’ve never had a bad experience. The only gripe is the music — too much Adele and sad music, but I blame Pandora.

The best sushi West of the Valley bar none. Spicy tuna on rice cake and yellowtail collar beat Nobu and Nozawa!!! Just don’t invite too many people so I have a place to sit. Top notch

Came here last Thursday night for the second time. Review is still the same — great food and fresh sushi but I wish I could say the same about the service. Throughout our whole meal, they didn’t refill our water once and didn’t check to see how we were doing — even though it wasn’t crowded. It’s almost like once you’ve gotten your food, there’s no need to check up on you. There are so many other good sushi places in the area with great service, friendly sushi chefs, and great sushi — I think I’ll just stick to the other establishments. One of the best parts about a sushi restaurant is that all the sushi chefs yell/greet you when you walk in and yell when you leave. Nope — don’t expect that here. Also, do not get the charsiu ramen. The soup is packaged powder that they throw in — our server told us. It’s literally instant ramen. Pro: The charsiu pork is pretty good and they let us add a soft boiled egg. Also, the roll with the sashimi salad on top and amberjack sushi is a must-try.

Still looking for Good sushi in this nonethnic food area and found it today. As soon as you walk in you’re immediately welcomed by the staff yelling greetings(in Japanese) out loud. The staff is friendly and accommodating. They are attentive and are at your beg and call. We ordered all their Specials as this is a sign of how good and fresh their sushi is. We sat at the bar as it’s the beat place to get your order quick and you can see them make it. We were served by Calvin. I think he’s the owner or at least the big hauncho. There was about 10 or so Specials and we tried them all. Everything was fresh and portioned very well. The fish melted in your mouth. Excellent food. To make it even better, they bill was very reasonable which is unusual for this area. This is why I’m giving it 4 stars. Will definitely come back.

I go to Erawhon Market whenever I’m in Agoura because it’s a better shopping and PARKING experience than Whole Foods and was surprised I’d never noticed Sushi Nishi. Someone mentioned it was there when I mentioned Erewhon, so I decided to stop by with my daughter when we were in the neighborhood. The sushi was fresh and they actually had red snapper which always makes me happy. Try the Red Snapper Carpaccio and the Seared Albacore with Crispy Onion. We loved the Garlic Edamame and Cucumber Salad. They also have Popcorn Lobster which I’ve heard is outstanding. I have to admit I had the Tempura Spicy Tuna Roll and loved it. Also loved the Lobster Hand Roll and the Nishi Roll.

Came to Sushi Nishi on a Monday night and was surprised by the freshness and quality! Everything we ordered was really great. Here is what we had and what I recommend… Lobster Roll(krab, cucumber, ago, with baked baby lobster out) — SOOOGOOD Calabasas Roll(krab, cucumber, shrimp tempura, with spicy krab and shrimp out) –MYFAV Honey Roll(spicy krab, scallop, tempura, w/spicy tuna out) — Good but a little too spicy for me Spicy tuna on crispy rice cake– good but again a little too spicy They have so many amazing rolls on the menu. Would definitely be back to try some new ones and get the Calabasas roll or Lobster roll again.

Amazing sushi! The fish is so incredibly fresh tasting. One of the best quality fish I’ve had at a sushi bar in a very long time! I will definitely be back! Here’s what we had: Miso soup(5⁄5 stars): finally a miso soup that isn’t too salty. Garlic edamame(2⁄5 stars): small portion, undercooked, and garlic not distributed evenly. Albacore sashimi with crispy onion(5⁄5 stars): I wasn’t a fan of how huge the crispy onion pieces were but the albacore just melts in your mouth. Yellowtail sashimi with cilantro and jalapeño(5⁄5 stars): toppings were minimal, but the fish was so amazing it didn’t need much added on. Albacore sashimi with mango(4⁄5 stars): a little too much soy sauce, but again fresh melts in your mouth fish. West ridge roll(5⁄5 stars): a tempura roll with spicy tuna and baby lobster and topped with spicy mayo and tempura crunchies. Not the healthiest choice, but so good!!! Marilyn mon roll and tuna inside out roll(3⁄5 stars): I wasn’t that into either of these. Very friendly, prompt service and loved their pottery dishes. Overall, great choice to check out in the Calabasas area!

Great local sushi spot, come here if you live nearby, it could soon become your go-to. I have to recommend the sashimi, since it’s so generously portioned and thickly cut. If you love fish, this is for you! My brother’s salmon sashimi was extremely impressive. The flavor and fattiness were all exactly perfect. As for rolls, I got the spicy salmon roll, the mango salmon roll, and the Philadelphia roll. They were all great for different reasons. The spicy salmon is truly spicy and go for it if you like that kind of thing. The mango roll had a great, casual sweetness to it that was not overpowering – dipping in soy sauce created this addictive sweet/salty combination that would inspire me to order this roll again in the future. And, I love me a Philadelphia roll. Man. The combination of salmon, cream cheese, and onion is so perfect, whether on a bagel or in a sushi roll. Here at Sushi Nishi, I really like how much onion they give you. Definitely one of my favorites! I’ll be back for sure!
