This is my favorite sushi spot in Agoura. The fish is always fresh and I’ve never left here unsatisfied. My two sons love the ramen. 5 stars for the food. –1 star because the customer service is hit or miss.

My guest and I ate there last week. We both got food poisoning! The sushi tasted«off» and I should have followed my instincts. I can’t even express how sick we were! I don’t know if I will ever eat sushi again.

I think I’ve found my new favorite spot for local Sushi. Located in a strip mall near the Regency Agoura movie theater and just a jump away from Padri’s, Wood Ranch, and The Canyon Club, this little treasure is tucked away. The setup: ======== Sushi Su is cute as a button, and you wouldn’t know it from the indistinguishable mall-like glass windows exterior. Inside, creative and hand-done wood by a true craftsman — beautiful décor. It is actually quaint and quite enchanting. So much more so as we near Valentine’s Day, lit little pink and red candles all along one wall. Nice. Two senior itamae’s were behind the sushi counter, laying down the law with smile and glee. Good energy exudes. Some of my Unilocal pals have bagged on the service by a gent that was rude and terribly in a hurry(mostly in 2014) — not my experience! A nice young lady was our server, and while she did not possess good English, the result added to the charm. A nice double-sided placard menu clearly displayed the rolls and sashimi, and a menu accompanied for other Japanese hot foods such as teriyaki and gyoza. After a quick glance at the menu, my order was easy: get it all! The order: ======== 1. Nigori Sake($ 12, 5.0 stars) — large size bottle gave out about 6 double-shots of unfiltered cold heaven.(5.0 stars) 2. Spicy Tuna Rice Cake($ 12, 5.0 stars) — Deep-fried anything is good, but 4 pallets of fried rice sticks with amazing finely-diced albacore mush rules the planet. Probably, the best I’ve ever had. 3. Rock Shrimp Tempura($ 12, 4.5 stars) — if Panda Express offered up this fine dish, they’d be an ultra rock star. So good, and a healthy portion. 4. Caterpillar Roll($ 13, 4.5 stars) — come here little green baby! Eel, with eel, eel, and eel sauce mixed with avocado. Awesome. 5. Tiger Roll($ 13, 3.5 stars) — missed, lacking consistency. Tempura shrimp was cold and hardly fried and tasted like cold shrimp cocktail without the yummy sauce. Okay, but far from great. The conclusion: ============ The love has bred many little Sushi places around the area, large and small. Most are good, some are really good — and this one, Sushi Su, is in the really good category. Small, great sushi, charming — two thumbs up.

If I could give no stars, I would. After our regular sushi place was closed for a few days over the holidays, we decided to try a new place. Sushi Su’s had a number of great reviews so my family and I decided to give it a try. We called and made a reservation for 5 people. When we got there, our table was ready, but the waiter — the only one in the restaurant managing customers coming in as well as taking care of all the tables, took forever to help us out. Once we were seated, we asked for some water for everyone, hot sake for 2 and a glass of white wine. The sake was not terribly hot and only 2 people got water(the ones who didn’t order any alcoholic drinks). We had to ask numerous times to get water for everyone. We placed our order which was fairly simple — 3 sashimi platters, a sushi platter and california rolls with miso soup for all and edamame(2 orders). It took forever for any type of food to arrive. We only got one order of edamame and it took a long while before the second order arrived. We finally got the soup and salads. The soup was luke warm and tasteless– definitely not piping hot as you would expect. We had to ask several times for our entrée. It took almost 1 ½ hours. The sashimi didn’t seem as fresh as it could be. All in all the waiter was not attentive and those working the sushi bar were not attentive either until we got up to leave. Then everyone was delivering food to our table. I would NOT recommend this sushi restaurant to anyone.

The seared tuna salad was awesome, and my mom loved the fact that they had a bowl of jelly beans on the way out.

I love this place. Ask for Birdie! After following a sushi chef for over 25 years and having him close down his restaurant, I wondered around in search of another excellent, but low profile sushi bar. I am so happy I finally found it and it is at Sushi Su.

This location had the most fresh and authentic tasting sushi I have ever experienced. My boyfriend and I stopped for some late night sushi on our way back home from a short road trip, best decision ever. I ordered the yellowtail roll, which had spicy tuna and a few other ingredients, and I was 100% satisfied with the flavors and overall aesthetic. I tried my boyfriend’s roll and it was very good as well. The location was well kept up, and is located in a «rich» looking shopping center. Why I rated 4 stars? The service of the waiter was not the best. He kept giving me the«bitch face» all night long and did not check in with us more than three times(when we ordered and when the food was brought out). I didn’t let it bother me and even tipped him extra thinking he might have just had a bad day, but still, it was terrible customer service.

Ok, it’s only taken me 17 years living in LA to round out my top three. And I couldn’t be happier that my #3 is in my own neighborhood. Great prices and great quality, very fresh fish. I’m a self proclaimed sushi-snob so I’m extremely picky when it comes to my fish. No soy sauce for me, just fish straight up. Very rarely can you find a sushi restaurant where you can stomach the sushi without some kind of sauce smothering it. Well, Sushi Su– you have made my top three. Thank you. And thank you Keith! I will be back!

Wow where do I start? The tender bbq squid, the tasty yellow tail collar bone, the shishido peppers w/eggplant, the spicy tuna rice cake, the tempura, the fresh sashimi, and the rolls! Literally EVERYTHING was yummy! And the staff is so nice and welcoming. Def a great spot for sushi!

Our favorite Sushi place in the Conejo Valley. Sushi Su gives the impression it is a Mom and Pop, and I mean that in the most complimentary way. Friendly staff and skilled chefs. They are a little slow, but only because they care about the presentation. There are lots of interesting items on the menu and innovative roll choices. Compared to the rude service at the areas OTHER sushi joint, this hidden gem is worth a visit.

Awesome sushi spot. One of the best! If you are looking for fresh sushi then this place is a must. Their Yellow Tail Sashimi under the«Chef’s Special» is delicious! The Spicy Garlic Albacore Tempura Roll is amazing! Also tried the Yellow Tail Roll and yummerz! Kevin is such a sweetheart. The entire staff is friendly and welcoming.

The food here is excellent. You can either eat at wooden tables or watch the sushi get prepared at a bar. I got their sushi dinner special for $ 18 and got a LOT of food for that price. I will comment that the service was a little awkward, but the food more than makes up for it.

Grabbed dinner with two girlfriends at Sushi Su after attending a mini concert at The Canyon Club across the way. By the end of the night it was clearly unanimous how we felt about this place — good food, but HORRIBLLYRUDE service. Our waiter sat us, and got our drink order. Returned two minutes later, basically threw the waters on our table, and even grabbed the menu out of my friends hand out if nowhere to make room for one of the waters. He then proceeded with«soo are you guys ready yet?». Taking into consideration we had been there for 5 minutes we responded no. He came neck rather hurriedly soon after again and we finally ordered. THISWASTHELASTTIMEWESAWOURWAITERTHEENTIRENIGHTUNTILTHECHECK. I got the baby lobster roll — which was to die for. Well cooked. Amazing flavor. My two friends got the rainbow roll, which both agreed was great. Unfortunately the food arrived after 40 minutes of waiting — In which the entire restaurant was EMPTY– and not once did we see our waiter checking in. Out of nowhere we get served by some cooks and random woman working there. Once we were done our waiter, with his I’m too cool to be working here, attitude came back with out check conveniently. Our check came out to $ 60 for 3 rolls, 3 miso soups, no alcohol. Mind you this was the least of our worries as the food was delicious. Would I come back? That I am not sure.

Still can’t seem to like this place as nearly as i would like. I have tried other dishes; the toro(which is one of my favorite fishes), but getting it here, it definitely wasn’t as fresh as I have had it. I also had the Ramen, which I could make better ramen, didn’t have a whole lot of flavor. The pork was good, i’ll give you that, but nothing special besides that. I only come here if someone else wants but, but really I’d rather not. I’ve tired this place about 4 – 5 times now, trying different rolls and just can’t seem to care for this place.

Went here at 2pm on a Wednesday with my son, after taking in a matinée at the Agoura Regency. The place was empty; here’s the breakdown: 1. Food — 4 stars. The albacore sashimi was 4 small pieces, but very fresh and flavorful. Next spicy tuna handrolls, also very fresh and decent sized. Then a Dragon Roll, 8 pieces of shrimp tempura, avocado, and eel. Good but could have used more zip. Finally, yellowtail sushi; the rice was clumpy, but the fish was again fresh. 2. Service — 2 stars. For being the only customers we didn’t feel welcomed. The server was cool to the point of dismissive. A female chef started our order, then left us to the male chef. While he was preparing our food he was enthralled by Keeping up with the Kardashians, which I would pay not to be exposed to. 3. Value — 1 star. I did a double-take when the bill arrived. 8 pieces of albacore for $ 22? We weren’t at Nobu. For 1 small beer, 8 pieces of albacore, 2 hand rolls, 1 eight piece roll, and 4 pieces of yellowtail, the bill(with tip) totaled almost $ 80! I won’t be back.

Why must you burst my bubble, Sushi Su? I really wanted to like this place, always on the quest for a great sushi restaurant in my neighborhood, but I can’t recommend. They aren’t very gracious as a small business should be. I get that you think that you are busy, but let’s get a grip! The server was running/shuffling around, muttering to himself some sort of negativity half the time. No poise at all. I came in for a takeout order, wasn’t greeted, and had to really work to even get my order in. They quoted me 15 – 20 minutes; I didn’t get my order for an hour. During this time, I had nothing but time and boredom to observe how they run their business, and let’s just say I was not impressed. The majority of guests seemed disgruntled or displeased at the very least with many of them canceling parts of their order after confirming that they were never placed or started in the first place, running their own orders from the counter, walking out, or registering some kind of complaint or other direction. I can’t say that the restaurant handled these in a professional way. It seemed that they only reacted or gave some type of sloppy service to those who complained or voiced a request by flagging them down. If you were patient or quiet, you were ignored. Because I was working on my New Year’s resolution of patience, I had to wait. It wasn’t until 20 minutes of waiting when I decided to add an additional order of sushi did the server even PLACE my initial order. I was pretty confident that this was going to be the case when I made the amendment. It served as a reminder of my order more than anything. The food was okay, but my toro was hardly toro. For $ 10 for two pieces, I got a lighter colored maguro. Because the completed parts of my order sat and waited every time they stopped working on my food in order to tend to more vociferous customers, my food that was completed in the beginning stages of its preparation started to sag and tip over. So sad. Even with all of these negatives, I would’ve been completely forgiving had they been gracious, happy, or hospitable, but they were not. And for that, the only thing I can conclude is a negative review. They’ve got a lot to learn here. When my order was finally ready, the server(the only person I had interacted with all evening, btw) assumed I had already paid. If I were less scrupulous, they would’ve lost $ 50+ for a small order in one fell swoop. So disorganized and full of chaos. This is not how you run a successful or passion-filled business! Oh, and P. S., they aren’t Japanese, if that kind of thing is important to you; I heard them communicating to each other in(I think) Vietnamese(?). I find it in poor taste and semi-fraudulent when they«fake» Japanese by half-heartedly greeting customers with«Irashaimase» and responding with«Hai» when the sushi chef calls order up… just like you would find it tacky if I opened up a Jamaican restaurant and suddenly started speaking with a faux Jamaican accent and responding to orders up with«Ya mon.» Lol. I’m not saying you MUST be Japanese in order to run a sushi restaurant, but you also shouldn’t pretend to be when you aren’t — You don’t see PF Chang waiters running around pretending to speak Chinese, do you? They don’t greet you with«Ni hao, welcome to PF Chang.» Lol. Ugh, I really don’t like to give negative reviews, but want to spare you from misspending your hard-earned money. I hope this was maybe a terribly off-night, we all have one of those, and that you’ve had or will have better experiences here.
