Whenever my family is feeling indecisive about where to eat, the one place we all agree on is Sushi and Wasabi. The sushi is consistently fresh and delicious and they have a wide variety of rolls. When you order nigiri sushi, you get three pieces instead of the usual two pieces. Yeah, for bonus sushi! For non-sushi eaters, there are bento boxes, beef and chicken teriyaki, Korean bulgogi and many wonderful salads. This place is also popular with our kids(10, 13) who enjoy the California roll. The service is friendly and fast. It gets busy at times and although they don’t take reservations, the longest I’ve had to wait was only 15 minutes. There is take-out service which is very popular with customers. They don’t have restrooms inside the restaurant; You need to ask for a key and use the shopping center restrooms upstairs. Overall this is an excellent restaurant that deliver tremendous value and service. Highly recommended. Dinner for the 4(two adults, two kids) was $ 53 with tip. Not bad for sushi!

The second time we came here for dinner, we were not as happy with the service. The food is very good, but the service felt rushed and dismissive. The young lady who is the manager(or owner?) was running around the restaurant without actually attending to any of the customers. She kept asking us if we were done, even when there two untouched plates still on the table. Our request for extra ginger was brought out, and it was tiny! The food is good but not cheap, but the service made the experience feel cheap. We may go back, giving them the benefit that it was a bad night for them.

By far my favorite sushi place in the Conejo valley. Their rolls never disappoint, and the staff is so friendly. Can’t wait to eat here again soon!

Not too shabby!!! The food is great quality. The sushi is yummy, service is good and it’s quite fast! Prices of sushi are a little pricey. But that’s ok cuz the quality is there! It would be 5 stars from me but it’s a little noisy when it’s packed because of how small it is in here. But super great food. Probably gonna be our regular sushi place now

Well, I don’t know what to say. Seems to be very popular… I got a seat by the sushi bar. Ordered the 10 pieces sushi assortment. To that I had to order a roll…, and I hate rolls…, but I ordered a crab roll. Well, the 10 pieces sushi was ok, nothing more, nothing less. My question, didn’t feel exactly super fresh, but ok for what you are paying for. The crab rolls came afterwards. I had ordered without any sauce splashed on top. I had two bites which was sufficient for me! I can’t understand this American obsession for rolls, just pretty disgusting. So far from the«purist» Japanese cuisine you can go. My conclusion, if you care for Japanese food out here in Westlake & Thousand Oaks there is only one place to go to(and I have tried to find alternatives), Kanda Sushi…, really good for purist tastes, especially if you don’t care to drive in to Los Angeles and visit Shunji, Yabu, Hirozen or Urasawa … Will not return.

Love the 911 RoLL as its perfectly spicy & rounded out with the tasty Avacado as it melts in ur mouth… So Good! And the Kanan Roll is to Die for…(love the mayo with a kick) and the crunchy sesame seeds are so Yum and add the perfect texture. I keep going back to S & W over and over its just that GOOD! Only complaint is they don’t do the brown rice and I wish that was an option!!! I’m a health nut and white rice is TERRIBLE4 you. Bummer… :(I still do it and work it off the next day, but I wish they’d make the brown an option

We went in for a business lunch with a group of 10 people — called ahead, but only with about 20 minutes notice. They accommodated our large group without any problem. The sushi was on point and the service was outstanding. Kept the waters filled and the Sapporro coming. Great experience all around!

Three words: YOUMUSTGO! Oh man, oh man, oh man this place is GOOD! Came here on a Saturday Night with my fiancé and his grandmother. She loves Japanese food but has never tried actual raw fish before. I am so glad we took her here for her first experience! We ordered a lot. I have added pictures to see the food. Everything was delicious, fresh and came out in the right order! You can expect me to come back here a lot even though its a good 20 minute drive away from me and I have a ton of sushi restaurants around me that I can walk to.

Been here about 4 – 5 times. The fish is fresh and the rolls are pretty good. I’d stay away from that dynamite sauce though or you’ll have an explosion

Nori should always crisp and easy to bite through. The last few times we’ve ordered sushi here, the nori wrap has been overworked so that it is completely soggy and rubbery. The scallop dynamite says jumbo scallops but they are the tiny ones. Again the nori was overworked and the mayo was overheated so that it fell apart and was oily. The salmon skin… Just gross. I’ve never had bland salmon skin. It’s usually very salty. The miso tastes weird. The food used to be good here. What happened? We keep trying to give it another chance because the staff is so sweet and the restaurant is so close to our house. The regular Japanese entrées are pretty good. The bowls are tasty and a good value but the sushi…. Until they quit playing with the nori, we won’t be ordering sushi anymore.

My boyfriend and I come to Sushi and Wasabi 1 – 2 times per week. The food is DELICIOUS, extremely fresh and the staff is always super friendly. Emma is the best! She always remembers what we order and has it ready right away! It’s not often that waitresses take the time to get to know you and remember things about you. It’s nice to have a restaurant where we feel at home. We always get the 10 piece assorted sushi with the Washington roll. It comes with a small salad and Miso soup. All together it is $ 25 before tax– cheap for two people at sushi and we leave full!!! We have had sushi at tons of places in different cities and states. Sometimes paying $ 35 for just one roll!!! Sushi and Wasabi not only blows the other places out of the water with price– but the fresh delicious food and friendly staff will ensure that we continue to be loyal customers.

Love this place so much! Always nice staff and food is really fresh and good. Only downfall is everyone else knows this place is great and it’s always busy! Be aware they close from 2:30 — 5:30 or something close to that… So you need to plan accordingly. We have also done take out and they have been really nice enough to allow me to bring in Pizza Hut(which is right next door) so my kids can eat pizza while I eat delish sushi! We come here a lot I recommend it!

My son and I are Friday regulars. Christine and her staff are always great. It’s definitely not the best sushi but what do you expect for the area. The price is very reasonable. It’s good comfort food at a mom-and-pop place where you know you’re at home.

The Miso Soup is not good but the sushi usually is. I order take out often, def not my favorite place but never that bad of a disappointment. Ordered hand rolls to go and they didn’t wrap them so they were super soggy before I got home.

Despite being in a strip mall, really enjoyed the selection of rolls here. Can’t go wrong with their rainbow roll, baked lobster roll, or salmon rolls Great portions too. Definitely would recommend Sushi and Wasabi

This is my go to sushi spot when Im home. Their fish is so fresh and everyone who works there is so friendly, especially Emma and the owner Christine. I do miss the best sushi chef ever, Lou, but the guys behind the bar really know what they are doing. Can’t wait to be home over break and stop by here a few times. Get the 101 Roll!

The great thing about this place is the lunch specials are very good, generous portions and great price. Who wants to spend an arm and a leg on lunch. I have ordered the three item bento box twice($ 10.95) and take the chicken teriyaki and half my rice to go and I have lunch for the next day! This is a small restaurant but I have never had to wait for a table. The service is very good here and the food comes out fairly quick. Great for the lunch hour. My usual is the salmon teriyaki, chicken teriyaki and spicy tuna roll. My coworkers order a variety of other items and they have had no complaints on anything. Good food, good service and a clean restaurant. The miso soup is tasty too and a good portion to start off your meal. My green tea was a tad too bitter for my taste but was nice and hot. I will keep coming back and look forward to trying other tasty looking items on the menu.
