Their pour overs are excellent. I’m fairly picky about coffee to the point that I won’t order it at most places. They have several bean choices on the pour overs and the beans seem to be freshly roasted(and not over roasted like in many places). Employees are friendly. They should probably charge more for the pour overs considering the work involved in preparing it. The flavor of this coffee bears no resemblance to what you will get at Starbucks, etc. One problem: They open too late on Saturday Sunday(7am) for me to go. Hint to owner: Coffee drinkers tend to be early risers and some of us have to work weekends.

You can’t miss the giraffe in front of the store. Simple modern décor with searing inside and out. Got a Black and Tan and an americano brewed to perfection. Batista was nice and maintained conversation while he brewed.

Element is the coolest coffee shop in town! It is definitely the place I introduce my out of town coffee-lovin friends to. These guys take coffee seriously and I always enjoy asking them what they are brewing at the moment and learning more about the beans and coffee making process. Mike, the owner, is a good guy. Most of the employees are pretty cool, but sometimes in the afternoons they can be a bit distracted. As I said Element takes good coffee seriously. They used to serve Verve coffee, but now Mike met up with his old elementary school pal who opened a roaster in Redlands called Wild Goose Coffee Roasters. I think they might still be brewing Beacon Coffee as well. Good stuff. So Element is pretty much a coffee only shop; except for some cereal and donuts. The ambiance is good, afternoons are quiet and good for studying. Solid wifi as well. 5 stars for the only hipster coffee shop in Camarillo.

Can’t beat a high quality 12 ounce drip coffee for under $ 3. Really unheard of in this age of overpriced trendy cafés. Atmosphere is very intimate and quaint. Great for reading or doing a little work. Parking everywhere. Only con is food options which is limited to a variety of donuts and breakfast cereals.

It’s cool in here. Guy behind the counter was super chill. I got the small agave latte($ 4) n my BF got the large mocha($ 4.50)… Both were perfectly sweetened, no more needed to be done. My agave latte was heaven on earth. Various seatings inside, then there’s the semi patio that is dog friendly n a couple tables by the sidewalk(maybe for smokers). Lots of peeps lounging around with their books n laptops. Quiet n calm… Awesome place.

Not a fan, The owner moved the best coffee shop in town and changed the coffee shop. It’s used to be a fun layed back place! Now it’s a stiff shirt! When it was palermo’s coffee I was in there almost eveyday! They had this offer if you got a $ 100 gift card you would get a free coffee and sandwich. As soon as I would empty the card I would replace it! I loved everything about it but now they changed the menu and have different clientele. Don’t like the coffee or the feel of the place when you walk in. I miss and am sad that Palermo’s is gone!

Boooooom Chaka Laka, I am all about Element Coffee! I lived in Los Angeles for a while, so bearded, Ray-Ban clad, hipsters and a great cappuccino were never far away. After making the move back to The Conejo, I have found myself dreaming of a craft coffee that doesn’t taste watered down or burnt, on the regular. Luckily, I stumbled upon this gem and can regularly indulge in the glory of their coffee and share the company of coffee slobs and hipsters alike. Great place to study or read a book, free Wifi.

Such a cool little spot! Only about 4 parking spots in the back though. Every time we come here it’s not incredibly busy so it hasn’t been a problem. I don’t drink coffee but the wife does and she thought it was great. Not being a coffee drinker, I ordered a hot chocolate and it was amazing. Since I wasn’t a coffee person in a coffee shop, I asked what I ‘might’ like and the guy gave me a few options. I’ll be back to try them out because if there’s one thing I hate? Starbucks. I will gladly support a small business with a good product versus a corporate giant.

Just had our daily fix and we can’t complain. We tried a vanilla latte and an iced pour over; both were excellent. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. We had a couple questions about home brewing and they were happy to help. We’ll definitely stop by again next time we’re in town.

I like coming here, it’s a cozy place to relax. I don’t like the fact it’s in old town because traffic, but other than that… they have great agave lattes! I’m glad a coffee shop other than the obvious has remained here.

I enjoy coming to a place where I can bring my mobile device or book, and relax with a great drink. I love this spot because it not only serves great coffee, bites, and other beverages, but it allows you to sip and enjoy your drink as if your in the comfort of your own home. The lattes are delicious and you can relax with one of their bites. Service is great as you get your drink fast with a smile and great conversation. Parking is on the adjacent side street or on Ventura Blvd.

Good coffee and pleasant staff as usual. The place needs a good cleaning though. It’s a bit of a turn off.

Okay okay okay okay. So owner guy and scruffy beard guy seem to have come around to the idea of customer service. I’ve noticed that owner guy is now ushering patrons to the far end of the bar to order, and is prompt with receiving orders. Scruffy beard guy is more attentive as well. That’s all we customers want, Element Coffee. We want to give you our money, so take it early and often! Best coffee in town. I’d still advise that this is not a ‘grab and go’ type joint(lest the quality suffer), so give yourself some time and try not to be in a rush.

I may be a Starbucks Gold Member, but that doesn’t mean I don’t appreciate locally-owned specialty coffee shops. Yes, their lattes are more than twice the price of my 2-pump caramel iced coffee w/soy at Starbucks, but I am a sucker for latte art. Especially when the espresso that accompanies it is rich & velvety and packs a punch of caffeine that I need to get my day started on the right foot. My go-to drink here? The agave latte with soy milk – perfectly sweet and incredibly well-balanced. The ambience is what keeps me here for hours at a time. Comfy couches, fast wifi, plenty of seats and quirky décor(see giraffe statue for reference). In terms of service, I have yet to encounter any rude/unpleasant baristas here as stated in some of the other reviews. The workers here are friendly and unpretentious(*cough* Intelligentsia *cough*) So if you’re looking for quality coffee in Camarillo and have a little extra cash to spend, then Element is your place to go! FOURSTARS.

I’m extremely picky when it comes down to coffee. Having said that, Element definitely met my expectations. This is what a coffee shop should be. Minimalistic, yet great quality gourmet coffee. My rule of thumb is to always start with a latte. I had the Agave Latte. It was exquisite. The texture was very rich and the flavoring tasted really good. I then had a Cortado. It was amazing. Really strong, and the coffee taste was incredible. For those of you who like to drink coffee(no Starbucks bs), I definitely encourage you to come to Element and try their coffee! PS: service was great, as well.

Their coffee is great, and I love the foam designs they do. I second the many other reviews that tell you the line is annoyingly unspecified and that the service is slow and often unfriendly. There’s no hustle in the way they do things. It’s very inconsistent. This is often the problem with local small businesses anywhere – inconsistency in service. Makes it easy to go to Starbucks instead because the differential in coffee quality isn’t worth the annoyance. But I like to support local when it makes sense. The counter and behind it also isn’t very clean or orderly. They would be wise to start offering larger pastry selection, as they often just have a small donut selection. One thing I give them major props for is the quick pay with Square. That’s fast. It’s real dirty inside on furniture – I wouldn’t sit on any of it or outside as it’s not clear if it’s all thrift store stuff and when the last time was that it was cleaned. Long story short – if you want best coffee in area and can tolerate mess and chaos and waiting, go here. If speed and service are more your thing, you’ll probably like a chain.

The coffee is delicious BUT there’s one thing that really pisses me off about this place & that is the reason for my one star rating. You never know when you’ll show up & find this place randomly closed(after going out of your way to make a special stop here, mind you) with a BS note on the door saying«Closed for repairs». So far this has happened to me three times. I honestly think this is just what they do when an employee can’t cover the store or something like that. Because unless they’re installing a new floor, or something equally as extravagant then why would you need to close the entire shop for«repairs». It’s very unprofessional, to say the least. Business hours don’t mean anything when you basically can just throw up a «closed» sign any time. This should be the exception, not the norm.

Element is in a rather interesting place for me. Despite being a regular here, I can’t give this place a 5 star rating. I normally go here after grabbing lunch at one of the numerous nearby restaurants. The drinks here are definitely better than, let’s say, chain stores such as Starbucks or Coffee Bean. I hope not being biased or anything against chain stores. Seeing as how I have a Starbucks Gold Card, so… that means I do go to chain stores haha. The drinks are in the 5 dollar range and are rather tasty. My main gripe against this place is that occasionally, the service is hit or miss. They’re normally very friendly here and handle special request very well, but sometimes they’ll start working on your order and then forget about it. This has caused me to be late for returning back to work on a handful of occasions. Mishaps like this haven’t occurred recently(past 6 months) and I’m glad for that. Customer service appears to be improving over time which makes me glad. If you’re looking for a good cup of coffee that is made by the cup, then Element is the place for you. If you’re not much of a coffee connoisseur, then I don’t think this place will be worth your trip, although you could go here for the ambiance since there is tons of art work that’s on the walls. They tend to be pretty. Oh and Element provides paper and crayons if you want to do your own art.

I can’t say enough about this place! I absolutely loved coming here. Element coffee is a independent coffee shop with only one or two employees. The owner is really nice & loves talking about coffee. I was so amazed watching the coffee process & he saw that. He took the time to explain the entire brewing process, where the coffee originated, etc. The environment is very relaxing and chill. You can sit down and really enjoy the coffee. Everyone was so friendly & I sat next to a old man who raced about this place. The shop has also free wifi which is great for students. As for the coffee? It was AMAZING! So the owner always gets his coffee beans from various places, so my coffee originated from Puerto Rico. It was crazy how a simple iced coffee had so much taste & a hint of caramel flavor. One of the first times I didn’t feel the need to put sugar in my coffee. Yes, it was that good! If you live around the neighborhood, you have to come and check it out!

Seeing how well the foam artwork in the orders before mine, I was gravely disappointed I got zippo. Still taste gave them enough for 3 stars.
