Pier 1 Imports

I don’t usually leave reviews but I couldn’t resist after having such a wonderful experience here. Deanean and the rest of the staff were extremely helpful in answering all of my questions. Most importantly though they were patient and kind to my two young and restless children that I had with me. Not to mention all of their furniture is beautiful and well made.

Great people to help you and really cool stuff. See Leo as he is very helpful, has good ideas and is very customer oriented. Both managers are really great.

What could be better than shopping at Pier 1 Imports? Oh, I know, how about shopping at Pier 1 Imports when you’re the only customer in the store! Yes folks, I must admit, I am a bit of a celebrity over in Ventura County, where like J. Lo, I too can call ahead and shutdown a store to the rest of the world, for my own VIP shopping excursion. Okay, so maybe that’s a slight embellishment, but with the rampant imagination I have, it sure was fun to pretend that that was in fact the case.
Gosh, I just love interior decorating and all the nuances that go with it, from picking the right color scheme, the proper accents, to all the little knick knacks needed to invigorate one’s space with your own personality, sense of style and intended vibe. By no means did I major in interior decorating or anything like that, but I still enjoy it and am confident in my abilities to create a warm, inviting, pleasurable space. In fact, my sister asked me to be her interior decorator for her birthday present and help her to outfit and decorate her new studio apartment. If that’s not the best birthday request that costs me nada, but greatly satisfies her wants and desires, then I don’t know what it is.
I also have an affinity for accompanying people when they spend a lot of money that isn’t my own for pretty, cute, fun, stylish things. Hence, playing the role of interior decorator during the many money dropping excursions of the big sis has been, well, nothing short of fabulous.
So, among one of our many, many stops around town in LA and Ventura, we stopped into the Pier 1 Imports located in the Camarillo shopping center around 8:00pm on a Saturday evening. As we pulled up, we lost a bit of gusto thinking it was closed, since there were no cars parked in its immediate lot, nor were there any visible signs of human activity taking place inside. We decided to try anyway because these days we live by the motto of «Yes We Can» no matter what the circumstances, and to our delight, Pier 1 was slated to be open yet another hour more. Woohoo!
Once inside, the fun began as my sister, Mom and I fluttered about the store like little butterflies drawn to the many sweet and pretty things within the store. Pier 1 has some of the most pleasant smelling candles one could find, and I was dizzied by their amazingly fragrant aromas on several whiffs. My favorites were «First Rain» and «Indian Patchouli». You can also find a plethora of statues and figurines of all colors, themes, shapes and sizes. My sister created a beautiful, green hued family of three statues that will soon adorn her living room. Pier 1 also has a small assortment of fake plants, that while often discouraged in Feng Shui, can be allowed if placed properly to add a nice touch to your space. We found the cutest mini tree in Pier 1, and had it not been $ 300, surely would have added to our long list of interior décor. At the time we were there, Pier 1 was having a great sale on some wonderful, plush, comfy and stylish sofas. Their side tables are also very decorative and nice as well.
Let’s see. .. what else? Lots! Pillows, dishware, flatware, lighting, tables, dining sets, seasonal décor, ottomans, chairs, calendars, jewelry boxes, bath gels and salts, and a myriad of so many other things. Perhaps my description would lead one to believe that Pier 1 is more appropriate for the ladies, but that definitely is NOT the case. My parents, father included in that pairing, have found several items to decorate their living space from Pier 1, that are classy, beautiful, equally balanced between masculine and feminine and reflect their respective personalities well.
You are bound to find some gem of a find here at Pier 1 among their assortment of decorative goodies and do so at a reasonable, although sometimes more lofty price. It’s definitely worth a visit in my opinion. You may even get your own VIP treatment like we did at your respective Pier 1. Happy decorating!
