The food here is really good! Had the bbq ribs and bbq pork. The ribs were Korean style galbi and the meat was tender. Prices are very reasonable as something similar would run at least 50% more in cost. Lost one star as the restaurant is very bland and plastic forks are not so cool if you are eating in. I would definitely go again!

5 stars for the food value. I would give 3 stars if it were based on amenities, service, and dining experience. But still, what most of you are interested in is: should you make a choice to eat here? Yes, you should. The food was fresh, hot, and a great value. The chicken bowl is only $ 5.95, and it could easily sell for $ 7.95. It was big, fresh, and delicious… And ON A PLATE! Too good of a value for only $ 5.95. The bathroom is way down the hall, dark, and scary. If there were an extra staff member, and they re-did their front window display, and fine tuned their menu pricing and overall branding and ambiance inside, this restaurant could compete with anyone. Food value makes it a definite go!

I’ve gone in here a couple of times for lunch due to it’s close proximity to my office, and both times I have been disappointed. The first time I ordered a side of gyoza, and I wasn’t terribly shocked to hear the microwave door opening and shutting as well as the beeping a minute later. While I don’t agree with it, perhaps the gyoza is an afterthought being on the appetizer list. Last time I just got the teriyaki chicken and heard the same familiar beeping. I noticed this time that the skin that was left on the chicken was slimy, and did not taste freshly grilled. I understand the cost saving aspect of cooking small batches and reheating as people shuffle in – this restaurant is almost always completely empty — but reheated slimy chicken served as teriyaki, which is almost always graded on the«fresh off the grill» taste is inexcusable. The people who work there(I’m guessing the owners) are the only reason for the second star. They have always had a smile and been pleasant to speak with. In my opinion there are other, tastier options to spend 10 dollars on for lunch. I just hope they get it figured out before it’s too late.

This place is my favorite! Me and my buddy go every Tuesday before youth group and have been going for over a year. The food is amazing and I will never get tired of it. The staff is super friendly and look forward to coming in every week. The prices are definitely reasonable for what you get. I always get the #14 orange chicken. You get a good size portion of the best orange chicken around, a really good amount of rice and some vegetables. All for around 7 dollars. Definitely recommend this place to anyone!

Rice Time is a local teriyaki place I’ve been going ever since I was in high school. Though it may be a small rural town venue that isn’t the most fanciest, I love their food and how it’s been a part of Historic Downtown Camas for so long. They actually did a remodeling a little while ago and now it looks more together and has kind of a café vibe which I like much better than what it was like before. They’ve got good teriyaki(may it be chicken, beef, pork, or heck, tofu even) as a «teriyaki» restaurant ought to have, but what’s REALLY good is their Yakisoba and Sweet Hot Chicken. I’ve been to many teriyaki places but never could find a good yakisoba, not even the one close to Rice Time’s. Guaranteed the best you will have. And their Sweet Hot Chicken is to die for, especially if you like spicy stuff. Another thing I love is their Beef Ribs(Korean BBQ style short ribs) which I usually share with someone because it’s too big of a portion just for myself. If you’re looking for a place with well portioned and nicely priced Asian food with good service, Rice Time is definitely a place to try!

I used to go to Rice Time quite a bit. But never again. Never trust a restaurant that hides it’s kitchen behind a tiny window with curtains drawn closed. The food was«passable», and not very Asian in taste, but at the time, that’s what I wanted. Much like at times you want Taco Bell, but don’t want Mexican food. As someone else stated before, the vegetables taste frozen. And their policy on getting a side of teriyaki sauce is tyrannical, with tons of «rules and regulations» on it’s self serve use. The atmosphere is very bedsheet for walls and random tables like. Nearly always empty. My last visit was when I ordered a beef and rice combo with no vegetables to go. I got my order with vegetables and no rice, when I told them it was wrong, the owner tried to convince me I should just take it and pick off the stuff I didn’t want. I insisted he make what I ordered. He took back my order and shoved it behind the kitchen curtain to his wife, with a few whispered instructions. Through the crack in the curtain, I SAW his wife pick off the vegetables by hand, stir and hand it back out as a new meal. And yes, still no rice. The owner tried to convince me I ordered noodles. At this point, I wanted my money back, which he did begrudgingly, with no apology and I was promptly ignored afterwards. Never again.

This is one of the few Mom and Pop restaurants I will pass on every time. Nice people though. I went once with my kids, but even they were not impressed with the frozen veggies in the fried rice. To be fair, my visit was about a year ago(that’s why I put 2 stars instead of 1). I just hope that no one thinks that is what Asian food is supposed to taste like.

Camas’ only teriyaki joint serves up decent grilled chicken at moderate prices. The interiors leave you wondering«who’s idea was this?» but there’s an overall sense of calm in the space. The chicken, beef, pork or shrimp plates are full of rice, veggies and meat lovingly grilled with their signature sauce. Nothing really sets them apart from other teriyaki spots around the metro area, but being the only one in town allows them that luxury. The sushi(California rolls only) leave something to be desired, leaving you feeling a little hungry after throwing down $ 6 for the plate. The U Don($ 6.50) however, will leave you quite satisfied. I tried the chicken and it came with two large pieces of grilled marinated chicken, sliced thinly along with carrots, broccoli, cabbage and sprouts resting atop the noodles, soaking in hot broth. Just what I needed on a cold, rainy, Camas afternoon. Don’t forget the Sri Racha!
