We have had food here several times and have enjoyed the place. Good place to get enchiladas Chihuahua style, cheese, onions and sauce only y Chihuahua

We have visited here a few times before for lunch and dinner. I am not sure what has changed in the past 6 months but our experience last night was awful. We started with the jalapeño poppers appetizer. It was inedible — raw jalapenos sliced in half with a dollop of cream cheese. I am all for a healthy option but my mouth burned for 20 minutes from one bite that I had to spit out. Our food came after a long wait(we were 1 of 3 tables in the place?) and 3 of the 6 plates were wrong. We ended up sending one back because it was opposite of what my mother ordered. My blackened chicken salad was so gross that even my 9 year old(who loves Caesar salads!) said it was«disgusting». The chicken was like chicken jerky and had a weird rubbery taste — old? I absolutely LOVE this salad at Cascada in placerville and I have had it here at Los Pinos in the past but this was seriously gross. I did not eat dinner and filled up on water and chips because my mouth was still burning from the jalapeño app! My father’s tacos were served from a stale pre-made shell? I wont comment on the service because our server had only been there a week. We will not be going back which is too bad because we love Mexican food and that it was in Cameron park. I would rather drive the extra 10 up to Cascada or go to the El Salvadorian place up the road.

Went for lunch today and could not have been more disappointed. The service took a long time and our server was not very pleasant. But most importantly our food was way below expectation and it really made me question whether I should contact the health department. We ordered a chicken taquito kids meal and the chicken was rancid. At first we thought the 7 year old was being picky but after three adults tasted it, we were all sick to our stomachs that they would serve that to anyone. When we notified the server she simply took the plate away and didn’t apologize or ask if she could bring something else. She did take the meal off of our bill at least. Our other meals were«edible» but not worth the prices and after discovering the rancid meat we all lost our appetites and are hoping no one gets sick. Won’t be going back.

I went here because they had an outside patio and I had my dogs with me(I’ve seen people have their dogs with them out there). While my boyfriend waited outside with our puppies, I went inside to let the waitress know where we would be sitting. She then proceeded to call me dumb! Because I came around to let her know. After seeing our dogs(a rat terrier and a 3 month old puppy), she then proceeded to tell us that we would have to leave if anyone else brought their dogs even though we were there first! And as if to make matters worse, when we got our food, my boyfriend’s food was cold and my rice tasted old. Horrible experience which is sad because I had heard good things about there. NEVER going there again, ever.

I was there on Friday 9⁄26 with my daughters and friend for dinner at 7pm. It was odd right when i first walked in. Something didn’t feel right. We waited and waited. Finally a young man hesitantly seated us. And again, we waited and waited in our booth. A very eager young lady, I’m assuming she was new because she was the only friendly lady to approach our table and the only reason why we were served, as the server who was serving our table ignored us. The server came to our table and abruptly took our order, however she could not contain her eyeball movements. I asked her for a drink, and she rolled her eyes, after she took our order she rolled her eyes, when we asked if we can order appetizers, she rolled her eyes. There is a pattern here: I HAD to ASK for water, I HAD to ASK for drink, I HAD to ASK for her to take our order AND she rolled her eyes every time as if I was bothering her! Again this was 7pm and it was not busy. All 4 of us ladies who were looking forward to a girls night out, were shocked and it really put a damper on our evening. WE picked this restaurant because we wanted to go have fun, laugh, chat, catch up. But the attitude of many of the workers,(besides the eager new girl) was so negative it really ruined the night. I felt as if I was putting the Server out. I have been a customer of Cascada in Placerville for years and have had so many amazing memories of celebrating birthdays, small business events, and just Friday night cocktails, I was super excited to find out about Los Pinos. And for the most part have had satisfactory experiences. However, the way we were treated on Friday 9/26, was enough to make me never want to go back. Overall the food was OK, but I was so irritated by this ladies behavior i was not feeling it once the food came out. I really struggled over leaving this review, but this restaurant has so much potential and I would hate to see this place close down as so many restaurants in Cameron Park do. We need good places for drinks after work, dinner with family etc. If I go back, I hope I do not see this lady again.

Better than many Mexican restaurants in the area. Clean and comfortable inside. Great service. Easy parking.

Rude bartender. Asked for margarita during«happy hour» and was served a decent drink but charged for the more expensive«Cadillac Margarita«. Food was ok but not the same as it was when it was Cascada. Disappointed and will definitely make the drive to Placerville next time. Chips and Salsa were never offered either.

Beautiful building and nicely furnished and decorated. Too bad the food didn’t match. Had the daily special merely because I was disappointed in their chips and salsa. I have eaten at enough Mexican restaurants to know that if they don’t serve authentic salsa and good chips, look out for the food. I was not wrong. I had a simple carnitas tostada. How can you mess that up. Tasteless and the salsa did not help. They had green rice that wasn’t completely cooked and had nothing to flavor it. Nothing! Black beans from a can sprinkled with cheese. To add insult to insult, the rice and beans were cold. It took a lot of ingenuity to prepare this meal. Not! I usually never judge a restaurant by one visit but I won’t go back for the second.

Restaurant was clean and has a nice décor. Hostess greeted us right away. They bring chips, 2 salsas and a bean dip to the table shortly after being seated. Menu has a varied, but not overly large. I asked our waitress about the drink special posted and she had no clue what I was talking about. We tried 4 different entrees and 2 alcohol drinks. My mojito was great, but the margarita tasted a little watered down. The entrees are served with cilantro rice and black beans. They were okay, but I prefer a variety of options like pinto or refried. My pork taco also had a corn tortilla that was warmed, but not fried or grill so it just spilt in half. Overall service was quick and efficient, but I wasn’t Wow’d by the food. 2 ½ stars.

We’ve been here numerous times and always have a great time. I love their tortilla chips & the assortment of salsas/dips you get. Although the bean dip can sometimes taste like it has lard in it. That would be my only complaint, and it could have just been that batch of dip on that day. I usually always get a salad here, any one of them are fresh & delicious.

Nothing compared to cascadas! But same prices. Salsa looks the same and good quality. Casa Ramos is way better in quality and more choices! I’ll never be back to this place :(

The food is not authentic, if you’re looking for that. We were not and thought everything was awesome. The bean dip is complementary with the chips and salsa and is was delicious, as was the chicken in my burrito and the rice. Surprisingly flavorful. The outdoor patio was pretty. Guacamole on the burrito was generous. Overall a really nice lunch!

We have been coming here since it opened and I have always loved the food and people, however it seems they have gotten new owners and the food quality has gone WAAAy down hill, needless to say I don’t think I will get my husband to ever return after his meal and I don’t blame him. I ordered the balsa tacos, my long time favorite and it was ok until I took a bite of my husbands which ruined everything I ate after that. He ordered the waitress recommended salmon. It was honestly the nastiest thing I have ever eaten. I have felt sick since I left there and we tried to get ice cream after to help settle our tummies. The salmon was super old, freezer burned and chewy very chewy. It makes me sick thinking about it. I am very disappointed because I really really liked this place.

Terrible meal. Apparently they have new owners and the owners don’t believe in quality food or cooking. Picture this. Four people, all starving after spending most of the day doing post-moving work. We decide to try a local Mexican restaurant that has been around for a while and get some food and drinks. We start with the complimentary chips and salsa. They bring two types of salsa and a bean dip. The salsa was thin and watery. The bean dip likely came out of a can. Food arrives. Two people had avocado served on their plate that was rubbery and inedible. None of the food had much flavor. This was a Friday night and they only had two people serving tables. We did get seated fast, but that was simply because there was only one other table taken. When we complained about the quality the waitress tried to smooth things over, but basically told us about new owners and got a little defensive about the bad avocados. We suggested they go across the parking lot to Bel-Air to get some fresh avocados and were informed they were not allow to do this because of blah blah blah. One person felt sick to their stomach the next day. I honestly have nothing good to say about this place other than the convenient location.

Our friends from El Dorado Hills invited us to dinner and suggested Los Pinos for Mexican food. I was excited to try something different and outside of Folsom so we hopped on the 50 freeway and headed towards Cameron Park. Lots of parking around the restaurant, so don’t worry about finding a close place to park. We had no problem getting seated quickly for our party of four(plus one baby). The staff were super accommadating to the little baby and allowed us to put the car seat on the ground. When we arrived, they immediately brought over free chips and salsa & dip! Addicting! I ordered the steak quesadilla for my main course(even though it was an appetizer order). The steak quesadilla was actually amazing. The steak was FRESH and the meal itself was HUGE. I had to take half home. Overall, good customer service and I would totally come back for more! My husband ordered some enchiladas and enjoyed his meal. Everyone at our table had something different and yummy! Outstanding food and I would recommend to family and friends. Cameron Park definitely has a hidden gem here at Los Pinos!
