Where to even begin??? I didn’t know what apple hill was until I came to Mill View Ranch! I thought they were all so similar until I arrived here! Between KID’S TOWN, the FANTASTICFOOD, and the EXCELLENTSTAFF, I will be returning for many years to come! Not only was Dallas, the girl behind the counter, very helpful in suggestions, but she also made all the tasty treats herself! Very impressive and exceeded all expectations !

Get the pulled pork sandwich. Surprisingly delicious. Oh, and get the regular apple pie. God help me. Whoever runs this place should be punished for not carrying apple fritters.

BEST apple fritters you will ever taste. Its always our first stop on our annual apple hill trip because NOONE has apple fritters like theirs. BUT now that they are open year round, we stop every time we go to Tahoe. The people are so nice here and the views are great if you want to enjoy your food on their patio. I am a forever customer!

I came for the caramel bacon apple donuts which were made up fresh for me since they had run out & were crazy AMAZING! Even when warmed up the next day they were bonkers yummy. What surprised & delighted me were their gargantuan cookies. They had several varieties that were overwhelmed with toppings & deliciousness! Everything was divine & if I don’t lapse into a diabetic coma, I’ll be back for their wide array of baked goodies. If I AM in a coma, someone send my nurse to pick something up for me!

This is always our last stop in Apple Hill before heading back home… end on a high note, that’s what I say! Nice grounds and nice people. I was sad to see that they didn’t have any caramel apples with nuts, but my frown was turned upside down when the girl said«we’ll just whip you one up.» So, after getting hubby’s huge apple fritter, and my two yummy apple donuts, I went over to the«other» door to wait for my freshly-made caramel apple. The lady told me they had the walnuts and pecans, but couldn’t find the peanuts, to which I said I could handle pecans, and thus my caramel apple with pecans was completed. There was joy in Mudville… Another successful venture to Apple Hill! BTW, we were smart and got to Apple Hill around 11am. By the time we left at just after Noon, the line of cars to turn off 50 on to Carson Rd was backed up substantially, with a few choice idiots sticking out onto 50 blocking traffic(morons). Moral of the story? Get there early on the weekends!

Mill View Ranch breakdown: Too lazy right now to write sentences and paragraphs Pros: — Bakery: Donuts, cookies, pastries, pies — Kids area — Shop full of various items Cons: — Parking is on dirt. Wet dirt = mud :( — Didn’t see much apples

I enjoyed Mill View Ranch. They had a gift shop, a bakery with lunch menu, and vendors outside selling paintings, jewelry, soap, etc. Also had an area for children to enjoy and a little photo booth which was really cute. We had lunch here; the menu was a bit disappointing but we were rather hungry so whatever was consumed was delicious. The polish dog($ 5) was good but I wouldn’t order it again because they do not have a variety of condiments and toppings. My friends ordered the chili cheese dog and pizzas and they definitely looked better. Garlic cheese fries were also good. Apple fritter, cinnamon apple donut(75 cents) and apple cider were sweet and yummy. Just wished the donuts were warm. I bought a super cute jewelry holder for my rings, only $ 3. All vendors were nice and welcoming! Met an older gentlemen who never seen a selfie stick before. It was cute that he was so amazed. Of course we snapped a photo with him using the selfie stick. Downside: only portable restrooms.

The family loves Apple Hill and Mill View is always our 1st stop as they have the best apple donuts! Plus they have a small kids play area so they can run around after the 2 hour car ride from CC. Plus unlike a few of the other farms they do not charge anything to access the kids play area.

We went in recently and were very disappointed. Slow service and really bad food. I should be clear we went for lunch. The bakery items looked good but we got food not bakery so I can’t comment on the bakery items. They were out of some foods(no tri-tip) but the food they did have was really not good. The french fries took 25 minutes and were half cooked and the pulled pork sandwich was inedible(a pile of greasy fat in a nice roll). The manager was very rude to customers and employees which was disappointing to witness. It was just very disorganized behind the counter from what we saw and having a manager berate employees only made it seem worse. Having said all that it’s a nice setting, nice view, some tables in the shade, great play area for little kids, etc… We might go back but just for some baked goods and not a full meal.

Totally great service, wonderful food and a FANTASTIC play area for the kids! My wife sent me back for another tri tip sandwich and my kids enjoyed the pizza. I’m taking a pie home to bake later! Will be coming here every time we go to Apple Hill!

Tried their Dutch Crust Apple Pie today, disappointed to say the least. Needed more sugar & cinnamon, also apples not fully cooked. Better pies available in Apple Hill.

Awesome pies and such! Everything I wanted is here! Their pecan and apple pies are amazing. Another place down the hill was much more expensive and out of the pecan pies I drive over an hour to find. I’m coming here first next time! Great customer service. Thank you all!

Oh man, it hurts to write this update on a place that I used to absolutely love. This place was the whole reason to wait until October, sometimes even September if it got chilly enough. That was«before». Now, they’ve expanded. And everything that goes with that. Gone are the nice elder ladies in the small kitchen devoted to baking the best fritters, pies, and apple-based pastries. Gone are the time-honored homemade recipes. Gone is the quaint feeling of coziness, the feeling of walking into your grandmother’s kitchen. That has all been replaced with churning out large quantities of sub-par pastries to sell to tourists. The apple fritters, of which I pined for all year long, have been replaced with ones that seem to have been popped out of a plastic wrap. It would not surprise me at all to learn that they were not even made on premises, but bought from elsewhere. There is no way that these are made from the same recipe as in the past. The selection has increased across the board, but the quality has decreased substantially. You can now buy a full lunch, along with 3 – 4 different flavors of donuts, and a host of other pies. But none of those will taste any better than anywhere else, yet you will get to pay the«Apple«Hill» premium for them. Prices have gone up, flavor has gone down. I strongly suspect that an ownership change has taken place. There is also now a home-built playground. When I saw it, I just started thinking that it was a lawsuit waiting to happen. As an engineer and the father of a 4-year old, I can’t help but wonder when, if ever, any of that equipment was inspected or what qualifications the builder had. I did not see the name of an actual construction firm anywhere. Teaching your children to take care of themselves is an excellent goal, but taking needless risks with untested structures is quite something else. I won’t knock any stars for the playground, though every parent should be aware of the risks. Sorry Mill View, but I probably won’t be back. It was fun while it lasted.

My bacon caramel apple donut was very hard. The caramel was difficult to manage but the bacon was well. The glazed apple donut would taste better if it was fresh. It tasted a day old. Epic sad face. My friend ordered the apple fritter which is supposed to be award winning(and the only reason we stopped) which when the line died down(there was 7 people in line) we tried to get a fresher apple fritter. My friend is from Minnesota where fritters are as common as Kleenex. The cashier just ended up refunding her $$. Their pumpkins are expertly crafted. The colors are vibrant and they were displayed were beautiful.

We came here to do u-pick, which they advertise for, but they didn’t really seem on top of it when we inquired about it. They sent us out back with a plastic bag. We spent 10 min looking, but there weren’t any apples left. What a waste. 4 stars because the kids loved the playground here. It is cute, imaginative, and homemade. Check it out!

Mill View gets five stars from for a couple of reasons. First off, their apple donuts are out of control and outrageously delicious. Also, this farm I think still sticks to the spirit of what I think harvest festivals and events should be. This farm’s location is relatively easy to get to off the main road through Camino and Pollock Pines. Besides the farm itself the location has an old converted building with a small kitchen and a little bakery. The bakery area ended up selling me two different kinds of apple pies, half a dozen apple donuts and an apple empanada. The kitchen sold me a couple of sausages my daughters ate for lunch. Everything was really good. Besides this, they have a little kids play area with some neat original built«houses» to mimic an old west town. Plus a few craft booths during the fall harvest events. The craft booths are annoying to me but at least there weren’t too many here.

Grand ol’ time! Live music, great atmosphere, and friendly people. Dont miss the apple donuts! These guys are the regular circular donut that come sugared, glazed or regular. When I normally eat donuts, I get a terrible bloated feeling. However, these apple donuts dont do that to me! If you have only enough time to visit one apple farm, visit this one, as it will give you the most classic experience.

My favorite Apple Hill ranch. Everything is delicious. LOVE the apple doughnuts, especially the glazed ones! Cider and fritters are good too, and I think I’ve had some seriously good pumpkin pie here in the past. Great view, great service. They have a gift shop too!
