Another solid brunch joint near Campbell. The coffee could use some work but otherwise great. Breakfast + booze is an unbeatable combination, and, honestly, I don’t know why more places haven’t jumped on the brunch booze wagon. Do yourself a favor and try one of the Hash House favorites if it’s your first visit.

In short, a brunch focused trendy spot, with more hype over actual substance. There are better breakfast/brunch places that’s worth the price and wait. If I were to break down the star rating: ~ Service — 4 ~ Food Quality — 2 ~ Food Presentation — 3 ~ Wait time(for table) — 2 ~ Wait time(for food) — 4 ~ Price — 2 If you do go here, here are some tips: — Call ahead of time to put your name down. You’ll likely have to wait 20 – 40 minutes depending on the size of your group. What’s great is that even if all your group isn’t there, as soon as everyone is, you get seated next. — Make sure everyone comes at the right time. They will not seat you until everyone’s there. Now the long of it. We were on our first quarter run of the year(I tend to set goals for running otherwise, I turn into a blob). We were planning out what we wanted to treat ourselves with as we save on $$ for not paying for organized runs. So we instead use that money on food. We decided on Hash House as we were running on the Los Gatos Creek Trail. I planned the run so it would end at Hash House. My boyfriend doesn’t run, so he goes and calls the place and plays his game while my friend and I go for a run. Well good thing we read up on Unilocal Reviews regarding calling ahead because we basically finish our run and he’s like we’re next! Awesome no wait for us. Inside, it’s a small place. It looks like a Happi House or a Pancake House as it’s structured like a house. There’s inside and outside seating as well as a bar area. There are restrooms but only one person at a time instead of multiple stalls. We were seated and greeted. They asked for our drink order right away. Then pretty much it was smooth sailing as they got our orders, and bam our food arrived. It wasn’t much of a wait either. The server was also quite friendly and all of them were very attentive to our water refills. Where everything kind of falls apart is the food. We apparently ordered within the top 4 most ordered items on their menu. #1 — Irish Hash — basically corned beef with their Hash House potatoes, 2 eggs(your way) and biscuit #2 — Fried Chicken Benedict — instead of an English muffin, a biscuit is used and instead of poached eggs, it’s scrambled. This can also come with Hash house potatoes or hash browns. #4 — BLT Benedict — standard benedict except for the pesto hollandaise. Now this is where I worry because if this is their top, I cannot imagine how everything else tastes like. Albeit, we got over medium eggs and generally people don’t do this right… or perhaps they got lucky. The Hash House potatoes were subpar to many of my housestyle potatoes I get elsewhere. They were lacking in seasoning and wish they were crisp. But depending on what you get, you may want it a little lacking in seasoning as the Corned Beef is a bit salty, so it offset that. The greatest disappointment was the biscuit. It was lacking in color and that should’ve been a sign. Once I placed it in my mouth it basically became a paste. It was the most unpleasant texture I’ve ever eaten. My friend who generally can put down food, ended up not even finishing part of her muffin and most of the hash house potatoes. For the price you get, you get a fair amount of food, but the quality isn’t there or if it is quality, then it’s not prepared right. Will I come back? Absolutely not unless a friend wants to meet there, but at that point, I might recommend another spot.

Cute little spot, about a 20 minute wait and we were seated. The hostess was not to friendly, needs to be more customer service oriented! Pancakes are ginormous, if your going to order pancakes and a meal be prepared to take food home or share with someone. Parking sucks, small little lot. The California omelette: not good at all, it had no flavor, it literally tasted like I was chewing on rubber. I couldn’t even taste salt, nothing! Pancakes: fluffy, tasty, buttermilky Eggs Benedict: we’re really good, had just the right amount of flavors, potatoes that came with it were my favorite, really flavorful French toast: super yummy! Not crispy on the outside like id prefer but it was still really good, just the right amount of batter Overall I would definitely come back here for breakfast or brunch!

I’ve been here a few times now. When it first opened, I found myself there, and it was a great experience with great food. But no consecutive visits lived up to this. There has always been at least one item on my plate that was cold when the plate was brought to me, like it was sitting out for 20 minutes, waiting for someone to deliver it to my table. The service, except for the very first time, has been poor here. You want coffee or water re-fills? You probably won’t get any while you’re here. Once I received a cracked and broken knife for my chicken fried steak, as well. Come on, aren’t these inspected before they keep getting re-used? That’s a lawsuit waiting to happen. Very careless staff here. The last time I was here, we came at 2pm, and I asked if we would still have time to eat, because I know they closed at 3pm that day. The hostess assured me that it would not be a problem. When we sat down at 2:40pm(not our fault), all the staff were itching to get the hell out and go home, it looks like. They messed up our orders and other orders around us. They also had apparently already shut down the kitchen, by the sounds of things, and it was still a full house! The deep fryer was shut down, so no french fries for any lunch orders. When I ordered hash browns, I was informed the last batch was just«thrown out, since we’re closing soon». What the hell is wrong with this staff? If you can’t serve people and want to just shut down the kitchen and go home, then don’t take anymore names on the list past a certain time. Period. That being said, the menu is extensive, but most things are only mediocre(except for the pancakes– they are really good). All the benedicts seem to be flooded with some sauce that definitely doesn’t taste like Hollandaise, for instance. It’s loud in there, with big screen TV’s and full bar. Lots of outside seating, but no heat lamps, so this is a useless option unless it’s summertime. Like I mentioned, there is a full bar, but this BREAKFAST place cannot make any type of specialty coffees. So, only mediocre stale coffee for you. But your neighbor can enjoy any mixed drink of their choice!

Breakfast on a Sunday for two. If you don’t want to wait about 30 minutes to be seated inside; there is an outside area with no wait time. Service is quick. As soon as we sat down, some one came to get our drinks before our waitress introduce herself. Food came out about 5 minutes later. Everything was delicious!

We were seated after a 30 minute wait. We weren’t ready to order since we had to seat Skye in her high chair. The service was not good. 1st lady waitress ignored the table. I had to flag someone else to get coffee and water. No refills on the coffee. I ordered a coke, cowboy omelet with English muffin and hash browns Randy ordered a Cambell omelet with sourdough toast. Randy found plastic bristles in midway into the omelette. Had to flag down another waiter who got the omelet replaced with a fresh set of toa

The first thing you might think when visiting Hash House on a typical weekend is, «It looks too crowded.» But I would suggest giving it a try anyway. My friend and I visited on a busy Sunday morning, and people were crowded around outside, but we were able to find a spot at the bar within 10 minutes. Even if we waited for our reservation, it would’ve only taken about 30 minutes. Definitely good timing compared to so many other popular brunch places! The service(at the bar at least) is very good! After getting a chance to sit down we were asked for drinks and anything else right away. And our food came out extraordinarily fast. For the meal itself: I got the 4 Alarm Fire Bloody Mary. Definitely delicious — and not for the faint of heart. It was spicy! On the other hand, my friend got the caramel apple mimosa, which was DELICIOUS. It came with fresh apple slices in the drink, and although the name sounds overwhelmingly sweet, the taste is pretty toned down and subtle. Even though I’m a Bloody Mary girl at heart, I just may have to try a mimosa next time I go to Hash House because they just looked too good to not try. Finally, food: I got the Monterey Hash. The few times I’ve gotten hash, I’ve never seen them come with big chunks of potatoes. That was a little unexpected, but the meal was still really good from first to last bite. And the best part is that it was so much food that I took leftovers to go and pretty much split the food between three different meals. They are definitely not skimping on the portions! My friend got the Fried Chicken Benedict and said the chicken was a little too dry, but overall it was still good. I’m excited to go back!

I’m not sure why I’m not a fan of breakfast food but every once in a while, I do crave waffles or french toast! Ordered the regular French toast and Cali Benedict to split with my friend. The food came out fairly quick(10 – 15) minutes and we started to started to dig in. The French toast was so delicious! The thick slices of bread were soft with a nice layer of cinnamon sugar on it. The Cali Benedict were just as good! The hollandaise sauce was thick and creamy while the egg was poached to a oogy perfection. However, the hash brown that came with the eggs Benedict was rather odd. I asked for the hash browns to be extra crispy and while they did come out like that, the middle layer of the hash brown seemed to be really mushy(like mash potatoes). It wasn’t bad but I ended up not finishing the hash browns before of the consistency. Would probably come back here again to try their waffles! PS: Their menu is pretty big for a small restaurant so you might be a little overwhelmed(like me!)

I like to have Sunday morning breakfast and eat all over the South Bay. Decided to try something different. Unilocal suggested we try here and we were pleasantly surprised. They have a full bar! The menu is a nice spin on old faves. We had the Cowboy Omelet. It was HUGE and pretty tasty… potatoes just right and even butter on the toast. We split it and still took home almost half. Plus the coffee is great! The interior might be a little curious but its kinda cool in retro diner, cocktail bar kinda way. It grows on you. Go there. No disappointments. Twenty bucks for two.

Ok, first of all, this place gets crowded. I try to go in later on weekend days(maybe around 2:00PM) so I’m not waiting thirty minutes or more for a seat. I think it’s funny that the restaurants next door actually have a sign saying their parking lot is not for Hash House! This place is that popular. It’s not very hard to see why. Ever since we’ve had their biscuits and gravy, the same dish at other breakfast places just doesn’t stack up! Eggs Benedict dishes are delicious and I love their scrambles(veggie scramble is my favorite). We always order a side of fruit with their(hugely portioned) hash browns. Staff are very polite and try to get you your food as quickly as possible — we’ve actually never had to wait too long for food despite the restaurant usually being full. Plate sizes are large, so be prepared to have some leftovers. The place is bright, clean, and pretty roomy, with some outdoor seating. It’s conveniently located on Hamilton but note that their parking lot is pretty small :)

It’s another go to brunch place like Bill’s and Los Gatos Café. I got the Monterey Hash with white eggs. It came with eggs(any style), smoked salmon(not lox FYI) and big cubed potatoes(of course) topped with a dollop of cream cheese and a sprinkle of capers, with a super soft fluffy amazing biscuit on the side, and some slices of fruit on the side as well. Everything was good only downside was the hash was a little too salty for me. I also was hoping it was a little more crunchy. My boyfriend got the chicken and waffles. The chicken was more like fried chicken tenders and not wings. The waffle was soft and fluffy and the chicken was cooked well and not dry. And for dessert… We got the churro waffle. Yas! Big fluffy waffle topped off with cinnamon and sugar with a churro flavored ice cream scoop on top and syrup on the side. Don’t bother with the syrup because it’s good as is and I am pretty sure nobody needs the extra sugar. Try it!

The portions at Hash House are gigantic! i’ll just get straight to the point. i ordered the fried chicken benedict and it didn’t blow my mind or anything. the chicken was really dry and the bacon wasn’t that crispy. here’s how i ate it: i took out the bacon and chicken and ate the egg and biscuit drenched in cheese sauce. less calories amirite? i also really enjoyed the hash brown i’d come here again, but i’ll try the waffles next time.

Great menu items, portions and good pricing! The crowd gets pretty crazy, but if you’re willing to troop it out in this cold weather, you can get seated way faster if you sit outside! I got the Irish hash with poached eggs which had lots of potatoes and was super hearty. Some of the potato pieces were a little hard for my taste but I didn’t mind. There are tons of things that sounded good so I’ll definitely be back! Their mimosas are also a good size(similar to Bill’s)

Came here on a Saturday morning and was SOOOO happy the wait was only fifteen minutes(I’m used to waiting 45m to an hour at Bill’s/Los Gatos Café). As soon as we were seated we got drink orders in, which was awesome because this lady needs her coffee. There are SOMANY things on the menu. I couldn’t decide between pancakes and a hash BUT my super fantastic waiter informed me I could sub in a pancake instead of my biscuit for $ 1. Ummmmm YESPLEASE! I ordered the Veggie Hash. It was nomz. The house potatoes are great and a nice switch up from standard hash browns. Pancake was perfection. It came out and I looked like Beast while he was learning how to use a knife and fork. Truth. Also, they were squeezing fresh OJ and it smelled heavenly!

Came here on a whim by my lonesome when I was on my way to work and had over an hour before I started… *Cue hunger pains* I arrived about 8 minutes after opening and was thrilled to see the restaurant already filled with people. Must be good! I ordered: Fried Chicken Benedict Oh man oh man, I really enjoyed the chicken in my meal! Everything else seemed just okay and were tasty, but was nothing too special. But that chicken was super delicious and carried the rest of the dish’s components. You do get what you pay for(~$ 14 for basically two meals) though. Not bad, but also wow that’s so much for one dish. I made it a goal to only eat one of the benedicts and save the rest plus 2⁄3 of my potatoes for later. Mission accomplished and I still felt full. Service was pretty aight too and my guy was there when I needed him. Thanks, mang! Will need to come back and possibly update my review once I’ve tried more of their food!

Over 600 reviews with 4 stars. Damn, we MUST try it!. And I’m glad we did… cause now we know that it’s just hype. My bf and I came here for breakfast one day with high hopes… Everything was good up until we got the food, which is strange cause that’s usually the best part. My bf ordered the corned beef hash while I ordered the fried chicken Benedict(as it was the most popular item). First of all, the food itself, BOTH of them… came out. warm. lukewarm. nasty warm, whatever. It wasn’t hot and didn’t seem fresh. The biscuits that came with it were also room temperature… Weird. My bf liked the corned beef but not the potatoes that came with it. Now mine… When I see the word«Benedict» … I’m thinking poached egg. Which is the correct way to serve eggs Benedict… While the fried chicken was good. I rather NOT have scrambled eggs folded over my fried chicken and cold biscuit(yep, cold biscuits again), with hollandaise sauce and call it a Benedict. Nope. It just wasn’t working for me. The service was really whatever… but we probably won’t be back again. This place is definitely overrated.

Hash House is where it’s at for those that are down for the big breakfasts or brunches. Came here on a weekday for an early lunch around 11am and waited a few minutes before being seated. Opted for the Western Hash since that is what they are known for(despite many other dishes sounding tasty, like the fried chicken benedict). It was quite the plate of potatoes, egg, and ground beef. So much so that I definitely had to take some home after not finishing. Overall, I like their seasoning of the potatoes, but after a while it got pretty starchy after eating so much. In any case, a solid brunch/breakfast place and would visit again!

I like potatoes and eggs and breakfast so this was pretty straight-forward for me. I ordered the veggie hash with whole scrambled eggs(not here 4 no egg whites), it came with a biscuit! Yay for flaky warm fresh biscuits P: The veggie hash has some cheese in it but also includes asparagus, mushrooms, tomatoes, spinach + potatoes of course. I really enjoyed it, it wasn’t too salty but had flavor to it. I was able to get 2 meals out of this thing since the potatoes were so heavy so if you decide to come here and eat an entire veggie hash thinking you’re healthy… you’re probably not: X Downsides as always are that breakfast/brunch places in the Bay always close by 3 pm :(I miss NYC diners that stay open 24 hours and serve breakfast ALLDAY!!! wah wah wah

Hash House in the Bay Area? Like the one in San Diego and Las Vegas? FINALLY!!! Oh wait, different one. Darn. Anyway, still thought I’d give it a shot. In the vicinity, there aren’t too many good breakfast spots(although, Scrambl’z just opened up recently on Winchester), so I figured why not. In fact, I’ve been here a few times, and while the food was pretty good, my experience on all visits, was subpar thanks to the lousy service. I know I come in with 2 kids, but they’re not like some of these other monst… God’s beautiful creatures. One visit, I waited 5 minutes to be acknowledged at the door. Another time, it took us 20 minutes to get water. And a 3rd, 20 minutes to get someone to get our check and another 15 minutes to actually get it. So, why do I come back? Because the kids love the food and don’t really understand the concept of bad service. Like I said, the food is good. The ingredients seems fresh all the time. My daughters love the waffles, and everything me and the wife have tried is darn good(I especially like the Chilaquiles). But, with Scrambl’z now around the corner, and Stacks still in Downtown Campbell, I probably won’t come here as much as I was hoping to.

My initial reaction: $ 13 for an eggs benedict dish?!? After seeing the dish: I think I’ll save some of this for lunch. Kind of pricy, but the portion size justifies the price. Ended up getting the crab cake eggs benedict. Not sure if the crab meat was fake or real(my bet’s going to be on fake) but didn’t matter to me in the end, because the crab cakes were fried to perfection and smothered in mouth-watering creamy buttery hollandaise sauce with a side of house potatoes. A very hearty breakfast meal to say the least!

Me encanto el desayuno algo totalmente diferente, pero 2.95 por un biscuit es como mucho.
