Tried for the first time yesterday and after taking my first bite I fell in love! Had one cheese and chicken pupusa and one Revuelto. They were so authentic and delicious! The restaurant is pretty small and not too much seating, so next time I will definitely be ordering to go. But the food is worth it. Can’t wait to go back!

First time I ever ate at Los Dubon what a great lunch we had the Aguas way different and better than our old spot in Los Angeles. We thanked the cooks and staff before we left Gacias Los Dobon we will be back soon.

This is a fantastic little Pupusa place. Parking is a little tough because the lot is small so you may need to park along the side street. I haven’t tried calling the order in advance, but if you order there, you should expect there to be a wait. It’s because they make everything to order. I had to wait about 20 minutes for my food, but it was definitely worth it. The portions are generous and the prices are very reasonable. The pupusas were delicious and I especially liked the rice which tasted very fresh and clean. The beans were delicious as well. Their cabbage slaw is really good, it reminds me a little of a light kimchi, much less salty than the Korean version. Next time I’m going to try to eat there, because by the time I got home they weren’t as crispy as I usually like them. Still they were very good, very full and flavorful. I think this will be one of my go to pupusa places on the west side.

The food is alright, I think it lacks seasoning and flavor. The beans are tasty but that’s really about it. I think the pupusas I ordered are decent but lacking in meat. All I could find was cheese even though I ordered fried pork with cheese. The tables were pretty dirty, we sat down after we ordered but our tables were never cleaned. I didn’t come her for service, but didn’t expect the place to be that dirty. Cleanliness aside, the food wasn’t as good as I’d like.

Only tried 2 things, the pupusas and the tamale. The latter not that great but the pupusas, are pretty awesome. Just got a couple on the side, didn’t do the whole combo. Do this as you’ll be able to order more pupusas. Got the pork and got the loroco. Liked the loroco much better and they’re $ 2.50 each. Totally solid deal. Take the kids and give them 1 – 2 of these and they’ll be full.

Been coming here for their lunch special since they opened, I think about 2 years now. I was stoked as this use to be a Taco Bell, so I embraced Salvadorean food in my n’hood where I work! I get the lunch special(great deal) with 2 pupusas, rice, beans and cabbage salsa. The Ayote w/cheese is amazing as is the fried pork w cheese. But I have tried a few other pupusas and can vouch that they are all so fresh, tasty and hot! The rice and beans are good too, not like typical Mexican places with the standard re fried beans and Mexican(orange) rice. I always pour gallons of their house made hot sauce which is not spicy but super flavorful. I must say each bite is full of flavors and this place is a must visit if you are looking to load up on some carbs! Man… I am ready for my nap after the fulfilling lunch I just had here. I did not give 5 stars because the windows and doors are ALWAYS dirty(greasy, hand prints) and they tend to not buss tables too fast. Since it is tiny place with only about 6 – 7 tables inside and a few out front, these areas could be improved. Other than that Dubon is highly recommended and the ladies are always smiling! I love when they are hand making the pupusas in the kitchen, very traditional! Enjoy!

Seriously, so good. I called and ordered two pupusas(one jalapeño & cheese, one chicharon & cheese) and a side order of fried plantains. It was a STRUGGLE to drive all the way home to Gilroy because my car smelt so good. By far my favorite was the chicharon and cheese pupusa! Cannot wait to return!

Second time here and we loved it again!!! The pupusas are soft and flavorful and the little pickled salad that goes along with it is the perfect combination. My favorite is the cheese and jalapeño. My husband prefers the chicken and cheese. Service is lovely and we just got treated to their fruit salad drink. It has pieces of pineapple floating in it. Almost like dessert. We’ll be back again.

This was my first Salvadoran food experience, but I went with others who had been here many times. Overall this is a good option for lunch. The papusas were tasty. They make each order from scratch so it takes a little while for your order to come out. The cabbage salad was good and had spices. The fried plantains were yummy and if you eat it with sugar it’s like a desert. I ordered the combo platter and was surprised that it was only $ 6 for 2 papusas, rice, and refried beans. It has a covered patio with several tables.

This review is for the food itself, but I’d give less stars if it was for the service etc. However, I really need to complement this business rather than get my negative on with it, because the food is good. This is a pay at the window restaurant, so if you go in a group or with friends no worries about splitting up a bill. That also means, no real service too, though they bring you your food. I didn’t do my due diligence as a vegetarian and verify that 100% the things I ate had no lard or chicken stock in them, so if you really need to know you still have to ask. Sorry! :/I was starving and kind of in a rush so was being loose with my vegetarian standards. I purchased a cheese/jalapeño and cheese/bean pupusa and the weekend corn tomalitos with sour cream. I saw on several tables this jug of salsa and was waiting for mine to come with the food, but the food came and I didn’t get any. I was so hungry I just dove into the food and I’m really glad I didn’t smother it in sauce because it was delicious! The masa in the pupusa was very fresh, just enough of the char from the grill to melt the cheese that made all the flavors pop in a really great way. I am a HUGEHUGEHUGE fan of charred melted cheese. Not burned, but charred into a crispy cheesy few bites is a big pleasure of mine, so to have that with my pupusa was super awesome to me. These babies are cheesy !! like Holy Cheesus, praise the baby Cheesus! So good !!! If you like simple flavors and want to just enjoy masa and cheesy goodness, this is a great treat. I did finally track down some salsa that I used on the tomalitos and it was just ok. Seemed part fresh ingredients and part canned so I wasn’t a huge fan, plus it didn’t have any kick to it to spice up the plain corn tamales like I was hoping. The corn tamales on the weekend are sweet and freshly moist, but just very simple and bland. I’d have loved more toppings options for these to give them a foodie oomph. I did order three pupusas but the lady ringing me up didn’t hear all three, so I only got two. When I first walked in at lunch on Saturday, around 11:30am, half the tables were nearly done with their food and the other entire half were waiting for food. I think some people waited a hugely long time. For me, it was about 15mins from the time I ordered until the 2 pupusas and 1 order of tamale arrived. So… if timing is an issue I dunno! They have 7 tables inside and 5 tables outside. The seating inside has no arms on the chairs, but the seats outside do so if you are with some curvaceous company your options to sit will be mostly inside. They have their own parking lot, but its limited, about 7 – 9 spots only. You can park on the small side street next to it if you need to, but there were ominous towning signs for the church parking lot next door. I will definitely be back, but will make this more of a to-go place than a relaxing good meal place. Though, its available via door dash so I might just do that instead too.

Wow! what took me so long to spot this place!!! I come to this area often and never realized that this place exist until I was looking up for«cheap» spot to grab quick food on Unilocal yesterday! This little hole in the wall place has about 10 parking spaces in its lot and you can park on the street too if they’re full. There are about 3 tables outside(covered) and about 6 tables inside. There were two tables of people when I arrived around 6:30 pm on thursday, all were hispanic. One table ordered their pescado plate(fried tilapia), looked soooo good! But I was in a hurry, no time to eat fish(with bones) so I just ordered two pupusas, one with carne(beef) and cheese and one with chicaron(pork) and cheese. Took about 10 minutes to cook my pupusa(they make it to order) but the wait was worth it!!! When they arrived on my table, omg!!! piping hot and delicious, gooey, chewy, cheesy, yummmmm!!! One complain was that the filling was not evenly distributed as some parts had only the masa. The cabbage slaw was also good and perhaps the best I’ve had. I tasted(And saw) some fresh oregano in the mixture. yummmm!!! I want to come back to try more of their food… btw, they offer a good selection of pupusas(honestly, perhaps the most selections I’ve ever found!!!) from just cheese, beans, spinach, chicken, jalapeño and cheese, lots of different combination of fillings. I spent $ 6.50 for my two pupusas! I was very stuffed, 1 would be enough to fill in smaller stomach!

Los Dubon turned out to be a wonderful surprise. The ambiance, though lacking, wasn’t a detractor from the original and true authenticity of Salvadorian flavors. Our orders were basic, but intentionally we wanted to try the top of the menu pupusas — chicharones y jalapeños and the carnitas y frijoles. The pupusas were well stuffed and pickled cabbage(which had cucumbers and fresh herbs) were unique in themselves. We’ll be back to sample the rest of the menu soon!

I use to work in the area and drove passed this joint all the time. Finally gave it try with my in-laws. Actually, we gave it a try a few times. I’m not sure why I kept coming back. I love food with flavor and when it comes to their pupusa’s, oh man, it was totally bland. Definitely not something I would rant and rave to my friends and family. The other day my inlaws stopped by and picked up some lunch to go. My father and sister inlaw gets the pupusa’s and my mothe in law decides to change it up and get the shrimp. Needless to say, she took 2 bites and said it had a foul taste to it and a few hours later ended up sick to her stomach, gagging and ended up in the ER needing an IV to replenish her body. I am definitely not coming back here again!

Los Dubon is my new favorite lunch spot. Less than $ 8 for two LARGE pupusas(veggie-friendly), beans, rice, AND a semi-spicy pickled salad?! YES a million times, yes! Came here with a co-worker, and this place is hard to miss, no matter where you’re coming from. They have a huge well-placed sign pointing to the humble fixture and small parking space, but fret not my Unilocalers… because there’s tons of street parking on this corner house. We ate here after the lunch rush around 2:00PM, and nabbed their 2 pupusas, rice/beans/salad lunch special priced at $ 5.99, but with a total under $ 8 after tax. They don’t have many pupusas that are vegetarian, but I thoroughly enjoyed my pupusas with spinach and squash! Both were delicious, but it was really all about them hand-made pupusa corn flour! MM-MM! I’m definitely coming back again just for that thick corn tortilla! The portion size is HUGE. Even I couldn’t eat the whole thing for lunch(I had a filling heap of oatmeal this morning), and had to take bits of my pupusas home. No problem here though… I can’t wait to eat it tomorrow :) Service is slow, but forever with a smile. The lady working cashier was such a sweetheart. She was very patient with me as I tried to order a drink, but failed to do so(ran out of horchata today). The food here speaks for itself, so this girl is definitely coming back for the pupusas. I also had my eye on their yuca dessert, so maybe that if I have more space next time. BIG points for their outdoor patio seating(under the tarp)…their outdoor space, chill/home-body vibes, and colorful menu have got me hooked!

Popping my Pupusas! Got the combo plate with everything on it. Everything was mighty tasty. I even like their side of spicy pickled cabbage. I loved it so much, that I took some home. You must try their pupusas especially the chicharron, calabaza con queso, and revueltas. I am so glad I did my research before I came here. I would love to go back and try some other items. I hope you give this tasty Salvadorian food place a try. Cheers!

I’ve tried this place a couple times and both times the food was mediocre at best and basically no flavor. The pork and cheese is just too bland. I’ve had the pupusas off of San Tomas Aquino forgot what the name of that joint was but they were amazing and I thought I’d have the same experience. Not true, this place is a no go for us. Probably not a bad thing since I can see myself gnawing on these fatty little stuffed pancakes all the damn time.

WHYWEWENTHERE: — mom wanted to treat my brother and I for lunch — for a free lunch we wanted to get something we wouldn’t normally get on our own — I’ve always wanted to try pupusas and was directed by Unilocal to try this spot THELOOK(FROMTHEOUTSIDE/INSIDE): — honestly it didn’t look or feel as clean as it should — the outside seating area didn’t look like they tend to the tables to wipe them down — the indoor seating area is very cramped — I didn’t like how the service window is used for both for you to pick up your food as well return your used plates THEMENU: — pupusas de arroz o maiz — tamales — desayunos — platos salvadorenos — sabado y domingo — antojitos salvadorenos — ordenes extra — bebidas frias — bebidas calientes — postres WHATWEORDERED: — pupusas: revueltas, chicharron con queso, pollo y queso, asada y queso — horchata THETASTE: — all the pupusas were served with a bowl of pickled/spiced vegetables — my brother thought everything was good, but for some reason I didn’t like the taste — the horchata was brown and tasted very different… I like the Mexican horchata way better

Have been here twice now. The first time I dined in and the second was for take-out. Both experiences were superb. The pupusas here are legit. I’ve always wanted to try this place out and finally came by twice in the same week. Inexpensive, fresh and packed with flavor. The cabbage, salsa and the beans here are amazing. If you’re looking for fast food, don’t come here. If you’re looking for a freshly prepared Salvadoran comfort meal… this place hits the spot!

I think I found my new pupusa spot! I’ve passed by this place endless times, but took me 2 years to finally try! Came on a Friday night and their parking lot was being renovated, so it was only one way to get in. There were only a few diners, and no one in line, so my jalapeño and cheese and revueltas(pork, bean and cheese) pupusa came out quicker than what others wait for, a little less than 10 minutes. The pupusas are close to $ 3 a piece, and they do take credit card. They were nice and hot, and I quickly drove home to indulge. The cabbage slaw is tasty, and the pupusas were nice and hot even 10 minutes later. They were so delicious, but the jalapeño and cheese was one supppppppppper spicy. My tongue and mouth were on fire! Legit pupusas, and so glad they’re near my house!
