Great place and super friendly service. Tasty food and a broad selection of dishes. Great décor.

Really great service, totally mediocre food :(The crab spring rolls aren’t that great, all they have is crab /bean sprouts /rice noodles and that’s it. Tastes less fresh because the crab is fried too. And super expensive! 13 $ for two cut up spring rolls? I can get four plates of three spring rolls each at King Eggroll for that price, and they’d taste better.

I’m pretty sure no sane Vietnamese person would enjoy the food here. We ordered two bowls of mi nguoc, soft shell crab spring rolls, cream cheese crab wontons, and a rice plate. The mi was bland, the spring rolls were $ 12 for a bite of tasteless crunch, and the crab inside the wontons were obviously frozen. The sauce on the rice plate was way too sweet, the meat was served cold/lukewarm, and I don’t know why they used a larger grain of rice not typical with Vietnamese cuisine? I wouldn’t recommend wasting your money here; we spent $ 60+ for disappointment. Go to an authentic Vietnamese restaurant anywhere in San Jose for better quality food and price. P. S. The monkey head on the wall is scary as sh*t.

Cool interior. Clean. New. Good service. Good tasting food. This place has it all and I would definitely keep going. However, if you are looking for a real Chinese or Vietnamese experience, then you’ll probably head over to Milpitas, Cupertino, or Little Saigan. However, if you’re doing some shopping at Safeway, then why not! I would go back, but for some reason I don’t crave their food. However, 4 stars is stellar and I’m convinced they can keep it up!

Authentic Asian cuisine. Very nice taste beef soup base, stew beef also very delicious. The only cons is, only one guy is seating customers, serving, cleaning tables. He’s so busy(very nice guy). You may not get served so fast. Will definitely come back.

More like a 3.5 but service was great so it vumped it to a 4. The crab fresh roll had no taste and too much noodles. It needed something with a crunch like daikon. My wife had the jicama fresh roll which she would come back again to order. I also had the tofu egg rice plate and was satisfying. My kids gobbled up the desserts.

All my stars go to the staff — great customer service. So friendly and attentive. However it’s such a big disappointment on the food itself. Pad Thai was so blend… The iced Vietnamese coffee wasn’t very flavorful. The restaurant itself look pretty clean and modern, am sure they spent quite some time and money to renovate. But please work on the food quality, it’s the most important thing for customers!

One word comes to mind when describing this place — «meh» I came here with my mom on a weekday in the afternoon, and it was pretty empty. The place is really clean, which is a plus. I personally don’t like the layout of the restaurant. There’s a wall in between the dining room and the cashier/kitchen area where a lot of the servers are. This makes it really hard to get service since customers and employees are separated by a wall, and that makes it difficult to call a server over unless there happens to be one or a few in the dining room. This was what happened to my mom and me. But because it was empty, servers may have concentrated in the other room. Food wise, there’s nothing too special on the menu. I ordered the wonton soup since I wasn’t too hungry and didn’t want the noodles. The wontons are average, and the broth was flavorful enough. It didn’t wow me, but it was still good. My mom ordered a noodle soup that came with a variety of goodies — shrimp, egg, and pork meat. One thing that really stood out for me was how tender the pork meat was. Overall, pretty average place. Would I come again? Hm only if someone suggested going there.

I loved this place when they opened. Previously I said that the egg rolls and crab won tons were wonderful. Today I got the same items. They were sub par. The egg rolls are extremely bland. They also taste frozen now. They have a different and less delicate shell. The crab puffs are also different but not in a good way. They too are also very bad. The crab is clearly imitation. It has that bad crab taste and flavor. While previously I would say this is a home run. Now I choose and recommend you to go to other places.

Been working by this spot for like four months and only have I recently been hooked. The restaurant seems like a clean finer Asian noodle spot but it’s never really busy. I ordered BBQ chicken pad thai, fried rice and rice plate and all 3x it has been pretty satisfying. Goes for around $ 10 per plate pre tax + tip and food comes out in like 10 minutes. The fried rice can get a little greasy as u can see quite some oil at the bottom of the to go box. Pad thai was greaaaaaaaat with the good portion of crushed peanuts on the side. The rice plate came with asparagus and zucchinis which was I guess… alriteeeeeee. You work in the area and need a spot for lunch, slide through as its a quick n go food spot with a great taste! Located Next to safeway if you want to top it off with some dranks elsewhere.

First time ordered from here through DoorDash. Got the wonton soup and the pork Canton noodle soup. The wonton soup was delicious(!) — a generous helping of at least a dozen good-sized wontons in a tasty, flavorful broth! Second time now ordering through DoorDash. Got the wonton pork noodle soup again. Wontons aren’t as huge or plentiful as the first time’s wonton only soup, but the big, generous pieces of fatty pork(the kind of cha shu you get in ramen), the pork broth, and the shrimp-flavored noodles more than make up for it! I think this dish is becoming my new favorite! =)

I was happy to find there was another place for Vietnamese food in the area. There aren’t that many around here. I received a $ 10 dollar coupon in the mail from this place so I decided why not? This place is located in a plaza with Safeway. It is located in the left corner of Safeway. Upon arrival, the restaurant is very clean and modern. I like the simple colors of black and white. I noticed there were Chinese Zodiac Animals heads on the wall. I’m all for zodiac stuff but I thought this choice of décor was a little weird. It looks a little santanic to me lol and kinda freaky(See pictures). I came around 630 on a Tuesday with my family and it was empty. The menu is extensive, and detailed with pictures. I love that they serve beer and alcohol, and lots of desserts. I decided on their combination egg noodle soup and ordered an avocado shake. The waitress was very friendly and attentive. The other staff was friendly as well. Great service. No complaints here. Food came out rather quickly. My soup was huge! They only have one size. I was full about halfway. It was okay, I expected more. For me, the broth is what makes up the whole soup and flavor experience for me and it was just lacking any flavor to me. :/I feel bad for writing this. It’s just from my experience. The food is just not so great. I wouldn’t mind coming back for some alcoholic drinks though lol I also saw their soft shell crab spring rolls and the soft shell crab salad. Maybe I’ll try that next time. Their avocado shake is on point though! One of my favorite shakes and this place does it right. The price is pretty pricey as well for the quality you get. This place has a lot of potential. Location, and décor, service. Food can be better. This place is decent but I wouldn’t go outta my way to eat here.

Tried it for the first time because I didn’t want to go to Safeway deli. The décor is weird but clean. The waitress was nice and attentive. I ordered the catfish and egg rice plate. It looked delicious and good size for the $ 15 price tag. The veggies was a plus! It was over once took a bite into the catfish and sauce. The catfish was cooked perfectly but the sauce was the worst I ever tasted. Trust me, I’ve had lots because this my comfort food. The sauce was so sweet that I couldn’t enjoy the meal. After several bites, I gaged because it was too sweet. I had to put soy sauce to make it edible. This plate was not Vietnamese food. I was disappointed. I don’t know if I’ll be back. :-/ My Mom would kill me if she knew I paid almost $ 20 for this meal.

Came back for the soft shelled crab rolls. They’re so delish. We also had jicama rolls, chicken banh mi and wonton soup with Cantonese noodles. All super delicious. Service was better. We love this place. Puzzled why so empty on Sunday morning but maybe gets busier later or on weekdays.

Ah, what a disappointment! Should’ve known that when we came and we were the only ones there during lunch time. The place is nice, the service was good, but the food isn’t the best. The only real thing we enjoyed was their appetizer of soft shell crab fresh rolls. Those were definitely tasty! My husband ordered their pork and egg Cantonese soup. He said it was ok, not much flavor. I ordered their chicken pad Thai which was pretty bland also. Super duper dry as well, I took it to go and forgot about it in my fridge a couple days later. We received some $ 5 gift cards for a special they were having. We’ll be back to use them on their drinks. Their avocado smoothie was a hit with our little one.

Nice modern clean open restaurant with lots of seating and huge portions and I have a big appetite. Great service and delicious food. Started off with the SOFTSHELLCRABSPRINGROLLS had me a foodgasm. SOFTSHELLCRABSALAD cause I can’t get enough of that crunchy goodness

Ideally I’d like to give this place 3.5 too bad you can’t do that on Unilocal reviews. I came here for the first time last night cause my mom wanted to go. Ambiance is a little too stale for me — no one was talking at the restaurant it was so quiet, a little weird for an asian restaurant where you’re used to lots of loud noises and people talking to one another but if you’re up for a little quietness this place is for you. It’s a very new sleek and modern place with high ceilings and smooth wooden benches against the wall as seats. Even as it is advertised as an asian restaurant they do have a small bar area in the front serving alcohol. but most importantly the food! we ordered the… pork rice noodle w/egg(poached): 3 stars — the noodles were made well easy to chew but definitely seemed like there was a lack of flavor in the broth and the pork was okay the meat didn’t seem it was great quality — overall the dish seemed kind of bland chicken rice bowl(dark meat) w/(tea) egg: 3.5 stars — I got mine with dark meat they also have a choice of white meat if that’s your thing — I don’t really see a point of differentiating the two but there is that option if you really do prefer white meat to dark or vice versa. It was good, the meat was cooked well really flavorful! I just wish they would have cut the meat for me so I could better eat it with the rice but they do give you a knife to do it yourself so I did that or else it would just be lame to eat the chicken first instead of all together. egg rolls: 4 stars — the egg rolls are so pudgy looking compared to other egg rolls I have seen but it doesn’t take away from the delicious taste so I’d definitely recommend ordering it. 1 order is just 2 rolls and seemed to have just vegetables for the inside, it is served with sweet & sour sauce on the side. I wish they had more selections of appetizers The portions aren’t huge so if you’ve got a big appetite I’m not sure if this place is for you cause you probably will leave hungry or you can always order more or save for dessert! We didn’t order the dessert but it seemed to be decently sized as I observed the table next to us order what looked to be honey toast with 4 scoops of ice cream.

The only time I review places, I either hate the place, or love it. And I love this place. Never mind the extremely hard working young college kids working here, this place has great food. And it doesn’t sit heavy on the gut. Get some wine, Dantes Reserve Merlo.
