Where do I even start? I was actually offended by what they put in front of me. Most horribly constructed rolls I’ve ever seen. The avocado was brown and mushy; think day old guac. The fish was poorly cut and obviously not fresh. The only thing that went right was my Sprite. I’m hoping this was an off night for them and I am hoping we do not get sick.

Still excellent as always. I live out of the area so I have not been there for a long time but it is still excellent. I can especially recommend their lunch special, 6 pcs of California roll and nigiri, soup and some edamame included.

We found this place in Unilocal and it definitely worth the 4 stars! They greeted us with delicious miso soup and edamame. We order a couple of rolls and lunch sashimi. So thick slices and so fresh! We will definitely come back!

Small place on Hamilton Ave between Winchester and San Thomas. The service is mediocre at best since the waitresses don’t seem to be happy or very attentive. The cuts of sashimi are decent size and fresh. However, the rice is not good and the rolls fall apart. Two problems here: They need to supervise whoever is making the sushi rice until they get it right(rinse rice until water is clear and add right portion of water), also add more rice vinegar and sugar to make proper sushi rice. Probably need to buy a different brand of rice as well. The second is that they don’t make the rolls tight enough and they fall apart. These days, there just aren’t many places to get good sushi and they all fall into this mediocre category. That would make it easy to rise above their competition if they are passionate and commit to serving the best food they can.
I would not go out of my way to eat here unless they improve.

They serve ample portions no matter what you order. The sushi is always very fresh and tasty, never been disappointed here. It is usually crowded although last Sunday night was not so crowded. The Wife had salmon Teriyaki and it was great, large portion. They always give you edamame, miso soup and salad as appetizers. I had the sushi & sashimi combo dinner and it was a giant plate of food. You definitely get your money’s worth every visit.

Once in awhile we all crave super saucy Korean made sushi right? Super small establishment, 2 four person table, 3 six person table and bar seating. What I like about this place is all their complimentary items. So if you’re extremely hungry and can’t wait for the food to come out, here’s the place to go to get freebies. free miso soup and edamame! Normally we’d get bean sprouts too but not today. We ordered our usual. Eddie’s Special Roll $ 13.95 –deep fried, shrimp tempura, cream cheese, avocado and yamagobo.(Love!) Hailstorm Roll $ 12.95 –spicy tuna roll with cucumber wrapped in salmon. We always ask for unagi sauce over the top.(my daughter found a pin bone in the salmon today.) Tried something different. Tommy’s Roll $ 12.95 –spider, avocado, cucumber roll wrapped with salmon, unagi and white tuna with tobiko.(a little dry and bland. needed that unagi sauce over the top!) I would suggest topping all the rolls with«unagi» sauce which is basically sweet teriyaki. I love that sauce on errrrything. All 3 of our rolls had that sauce on it, if it didn’t originally come with it, we’d ask for it to be specially added on! Service we a little off today. there were only 2 other patrons and for some reason, the waitress was oblivious to our table. I’d wave her down to place our order and she seemed to look everywhere but our table. I’d walk over to try to use the restroom and she’d be in my way. not even aware that there’s a customer behind her. Or she’d clean a table and cut me off to get to the back before I could reach the restroom. lol. It’s just one of those restaurants where you don’t expect the best customer service but you just come back for the food. I’m comfortable with listening to k-pop music and overhearing the waitress and the sushi chefs chatter nonstop in Korean. Just serve me promptly and I’ll be ok with all of that.

This is my favorite restaurant of all time. The rolls are always fresh and well made. The sizes of the rolls are also fairly large, which is super nice. Customer service at TGI is fantastic. I go about two or three times a month, and it is always the same waitresses and chefs, and they often bring me a free dish on the house since they recognize me. I love sitting at the bar because the chefs are so friendly and funny. I have never waited more than 10 or 15 minutes for a table.(This only happens with larger groups of 5+ people usually.) And, because the food is primarily sushi, it usually only takes about 5 minutes after I order to receive my roll(s). All in all, I absolutely love this restaurant and I always feel great about spending money to support this fantastic business.

This a good sushi place with tons of selections. They don’t have sashimi but do cover everything else. The prices are competitive with most places in the area. Very high pace and be ready to eat as the move lots of people through quickly!

It’s a decent place, small buy cozy. Fish is fresh but not amazing. The nigiri could use better fish to rice ratio. We ordered rolls, appetizers, and a few nigiri sushi. It filled our stomach, but this wouldn’t be my number one choice of Japanese restaurant.

Every establishment has bad days and I think my visit to TGI Sushi was one of theirs. It was a rainy Saturday and my daughter was craving Katsu. We Unilocaled the closest and best Katsu and TGI came up with rave reviews. The strip center is sketchy and parking kinda sucks but we thought we’d give it a try. It was after 1:30 and the place was packed. Really good sign. No waiting area inside so we had to wait in the rain. Not for long though. We were seated at a shared table with two other nice ladies who were just waiting for their check. My first impression was this place smells kinda funny and feels greasy. Sushi is supposed to be clean and fresh so why is everything covered in a thin layer of grime? Eeks. My daughter and I were a little apprehensive to stick around but she was starving and getting hangry. We got our menus water and miso soup very quickly. I ordered the tempura veggies w/shrimp and my daughter ordered the chicken Katsu. The ladies sitting next to us were still waiting for their check and their pile of dirty dishes were piled up between us. One of them mumbled to my daughter that the service was horrible. Hmmmm Finally after what felt like a really long time, our lunches came out. So did the nice ladies check and they were out the door in a hurry. Tempura: über greasy. I’m serious when I say«über». There were broccoli florets dipped and fried that just oozed grease as you bit into it. So gross. The salad was nice though and the dressing was good. Chicken Katsu: a touch over fried but I thought it wasn’t terrible. Pretty large portion size too. My daughter did an internship in Hawaii and fell in love with Katsu. She said this was nothing like she’d had there and actually felt it tasted unpleasant. What was totally unpleasant was the Katsu dipping sauce. I swear it tasted like straight up A-1 sauce. So weird. Service: staff was friendly but once our order was placed and food was delivered, no one ever came to check on us. It’s like they disappeared behind the back curtain into Narnia. Neither of us finished our plates when we were done. I finally flagged down a server, handed them my card and said we needed to go. It was a lot of food for $ 23 so the value was good but the quality, service and cleanliness was so lacking that we’d never come back. We didn’t get sushi so maybe that was our mistake? Guess we’ll never know. 20 minutes later the abundance of grease in my tempura caused a sprint to the restroom. I’m truly shocked this place was so highly rated. To each their own but this was a big thumbs down for us.

This little hole in the wall sushi place is absolutely delightful! The store is actually run by Korean owners. You can tell by their speaking and the Korean pop music they play in the store. My friend and I ordered two bento boxes even though we knew this place is more famous for their sushi. I have to tell you we did not get disappointed! The tonkatsu and the sashimi were delicious with very generous portions. Following Candice’s advice, we also tried Jessica’s Special, which featured spicy jalapeño on top of tuna and yellow tail. It is absolutely delicious! We are so happy that we finally found a good Japanese restaurant near where we live(yes we have high standards after having tried Furusato and Santouka ramen). We would definitely come back to visit again! Just beware that it is a very small place with limited seating, so during busy hours, be prepared to wait both for the seats and food!

A-OK… Not the biggest fan of sushi, but our group decided upon this place. I didn’t mind since I was low on carbs that day. At fist sight, the restaurant is located next to a food mart and a taqueria. The place itself doesn’t look all at that fancy, came in and we got seated immediately. The interior is really small and cramped as multiple cooks are located in the dining room rolling rolls. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. She gave us enough time for our decision. The menu is pretty extensive consisting of sushi rolls, appetizers such as edamame, grilled meat such as Teriyaki, tempura, and lunch items that come w/rice or soup. I got two rolls, one cucumber and one avocado. They were on the small vegetarian list of the sushi rolls. Each were 4.50 and they are pretty small. I was a little upset, as the two rolls left me hungry. The rolls itself are heh… Alright. I definitely had much bigger better rolls in my past. I could tell the avocados were fresh, but the cucumber lacked crunch. Seaweed /Rice on them was alright, nothing to write about. Service was a hit and miss. They attended us on the spot, but left us hanging after we ordered. My glass of water never got refilled, and just checked on us too see if we finished to give us the check. Overall, I had much better rolls and service than @TGI’s. Service was good upon entering, but needs some work as it lacks communication between the customers and staff.

Small little place, could get a bit crowded but the rolls are best I’ve tasted in a long time. I think I’ve been here before but that was before the invention of iPhone and apps. The service was great, very personal, they really show or tried to show that they care about you!

Solid sushi dive that’s great for a quick bite! It’s a tiny location and not the best for large groups. Home of the Johnny Luv Roll.

We were looking to try a new sushi location, and we were near the Santana Row area, so after doing a few minutes of Unilocal research we decided to give this place a shot. It’s a smaller location, so come early if you don’t want to wait in the freezing cold outside. We got here just at the right time, so our wait near non existent. However, we were seated next to a couple at the bar who were having a melt down of sorts. The lady was crying at one point, and then they were nearly making out the neck. All at the local sushi joint. It happens. The service was spot on and quick, and maybe a little too quick as were asked what we wanted to order about 5 times in 5 minutes. The food itself was great and gigantic. Try the flying duck. It’s quacktastic. Overall, another great sushi spot in the Bay. There are a lot.

This is my favorite sushi joint in Campbell. TGI’s is consistent, Korean-owned, but a bit pricier for rolls. They do make you feel better about the prices by providing complimentary miso and edamame. They’ve been doing that for years, and I think that’s such a plus! In Campbell, there’s not much good Japanese or Asian food to begin with, so TGI’s is a great place to get fresh sushi rolls. I’ve been here multiple times with my family or with friends, and all have been positive. The rolls are made quickly and sometimes with too much rice: fish ratio. They do have a large selection of rolls, which is what you’ll be staring at half the time. If there’s a wait(which there usually is on weekends for dinner), grab a menu and decide before you get seated. They have pretty good sake and pricing isn’t too bad. We’ve shared a small one between my friend and me and we got about two sake glasses each. Ambiance isn’t really conducive to talking because tables are a bit close to another, and there’s constantly K-pop videos playing distractingly on TV. I think this is a great family spot for sushi, but it doesn’t really fire the loins if you’re coming here for a date. In all, TGI’s gets the job done on an above average(for Campbell) standard!

Not gonna lie, I’m tempted to write a mediocre review about this place because I don’t want other people to find it and make it popular and crowded. But damn this was some of the best sushi I’ve had in the south bay. Walking into the place you wouldn’t expect anything special, just a small hole in the wall where you grab a quick bite for lunch before heading to your important everyday business. But after taking that first bite I already started contemplating how much effort it will be to drive down here every weekend for this deliciousness that’s in my mouth. I will refrain from saying what roll I got because I actually forgot, but I did take a picture of it. The lemon zest on top of the roll was what made it amazing. The hint of citrus balanced very well with the salmon and tuna pieces on the sushi. I will definitely be trying that when I attempt to make my own sushi. All in all, solid 5 stars. But seriously though, it’s not that good, don’t come here. Edit: I found the sushi’s name! Mr. Netscreen.

This is a hidden gem for sushi in Campbell. This place is hella small so be prepared for a wait if there are a lot of people. The sushi taste extremely fresh and good. Ordered the sushi boat for a plethora of fishes. The service was great. But like every sushi place… it can get pricey. Parking: Private lot. not an issue. Overall: Will return to try everything else on the menu.
