If you grew up in Canandaigua, you will see someone you went to highschool with here. Guaranteed. Nicely location on Main St. Easily walk to when the weather is nice.

If only rating the food this rating would have been higher. When we walked in for dinner, (we had a gift certificate) I was expecting a bad experience. The place is dark, felt dirty, a little cob webby, and in lack of general repair. There weren’t many people eating so I thought we’d get a couple drinks, an app, and get out. The waitress was very friendly although working by herself and trying to cover the bar. After looking at the menu we decided to order a sandwich also. I was very pleasantly surprised at the portion size and flavor as was my wife. I couldn’t finish my meal but enjoyed it the next day. The cook came out and asked how we liked our meals. We will definitely be back. Hopefully the owner or manager will take some time to clean the place up, replace some light bulbs, and maybe staff it better.
Couple notes to the owner/​manager:
— why keep around beat up, old, stained menus. What does it cost to keep them new & fresh looking
— get rid of the cob webs!!!
— replace bad light bulbs
— get rids of old lighting that isn’t used any more (we saw black light bulbs all over) and put in lighting that is appealing (once the place is cleaned up)
— organize your staff so you can cover the bar and the tables. Or get your waitress/​bar tenders to not stand and chat up the bar stools when there are table customers
— make sure the place feels clean, clean, clean
— the smokers standing out on the sidewalk in front of the front door are not inviting *except to other smokers
— your cook is good — exploit that!

Calling this place a pub is being a little too kind. When we arrived on the Friday after Thanksgiving, it reeked of cigarette smoke and was full of kids who didn’t look old enough to drink.
The DJ was blasting some hip-​hop tunes, which I enjoyed, and the beer selection was decent and reasonably priced.
Definitely not a destination bar, but if you’re in the mood to watch teens awkwardly dancing to hip-​hop, this could be your spot!
