Disappointed with their beer selection and standard pub fare. Service was decent but probably wouldn’t go back.

Waited 15 minutes before a waitress dropped a coaster in front of us. Then, I ask her if there is a beer let, and she pointed to the wall behind me – no way I could read it since my back was right by the wall in a booth. She brought out the onion rings and put it on the table, and left. Had to get another waitress to bring us napkins and silverware. Clam chowder looked like milk soup… had to fish for the clams. She was a HORRIBLE waitress! She overcharged us for the beer — verified when I called the restaurant and was told their was happy hour going on. The burger was the only thing that was fair. Save time and money… so many other places to eat at Cannon Beach.

Super tasty burger and terrific scotch ale. Highly recommend Bills if you’re looking for a good spot in Cannon Beach.

Bar food. It’s crowded. Not sure how you can make fries crappy but they succeeded. My advice is to drink beer if you are eating their food.

Great clam chowder and great beer. I had an IPA and my husband had an ESB. Both were really good. Nice atmosphere abs service too. Would definitely go again and recommend to others.

Visited here on a recommendation. Unfortunately, it was New Year’s day, so it was super crowded and people were lined up waiting for a table. I ordered the four piece cod fish and chips which came with french fries and garlic bread. I also ordered the Black Berry beer per my friend’s recommendation. The fish was excellent! Large, tender chunks of cod with a good batter. It was super filling, but pricey, at $ 14. It came with lemon and tartar sauce. I wish there were an option other than fries, but I didn’t see one on the menu. I honestly was disappointed by the beer. I guess I was either expecting it to be a little sweeter, or a little bit more of a black berry taste. Instead it was a little washy, with flavors that didn’t taste like a black berry beer at all. I loved the woodstove fireplaces, even though I think there were gas fires inside. They were really putting out the heat on a really cold day. Great service. This place had the best food that I’ve had in Cannon Beach for sure.

Overall terrible experience. We were given water glasses that had disgustingness along the top of them. Our food took 45 minutes and came out wrong. I think the server forgot to fire it. He never checked on us and when I asked to speak to management he said he was voiding our bill and we could just leave.

Best beer! Love the local beers they have featured as well. The food was on point! We ordered the onion rings and they were the best, they have awesome fish n chips too! Had to try their batter. The service was good as we came here two days in a row for the beer and then had to try another food item. We enjoyed our food and time here and will for sure be back again when we’re in cannon beach. A must stop!

Oregon Coast 2015NIRT(No Itinerary Road Trip) has been an amazing relaxing meander down our beautiful Highway 101. While staying in Cannon Beach I once again found myself at Bill’s Tavern and Brewhouse. It seems to be on the regular rotation when in town and winding down from a hike in Ecola State Park or a meander along Haystack Rock. I love the location right on the main street, the chill coastal pub atmosphere and that they have great house microbrews. That’s where my love ends. The service can be great, nonexistant, or weird(example: the waitress leaned over and startlingly yelled in my dining partner’s face while her ample bosom was two inches from his face… this was not a good kind of cleavage in the face experience!). The food is really not good. If the above-mentioned love wasn’t a factor this would be a 2 star review. On this occaision I wasn’t feeling very peckish and ordered the clam chowder(a must at every restaurant when on the coast) and a ½ tuna curry sandwich. The clam chowder was just ok, but the tuna was terrible — covered in curry and mayo, and the sandwich fell apart. On previous dining experiences I’ve always come away with the same feeling — so lesson learned, just go for the beers and not for the food.

Bills tavern… I came with a group and the male waiter we had was rude! The man with glasses and red hair. He Does not know how to treat customers. He insulted my family, and friends as he was taking our order. I’m assuming he might have been racist. I had to get up to ask for our tab and sauce since he did not come back to ask if we needed anything. The food took a long time to get to us. The cups were dirty, a ring around the top of the glass. The female waiter was nice, just did not pay much attention to us. Will not come back here. The halibut was good. Defiantly will not come Back in case I didn’t make it clear.

My husband and I have been here several times and their beers and hamburgers are amazing. The restaurant is located on the main street of cannon beach. It’s within walking distance of the beach and other shops. It is separated in two with the restaurant on the left and the bar on the right; however, you can eat in both sections. The staff is always friendly and helpful when he have been there. The burger meat is the best I have ever had; coming from someone who lived in cattle country. I get the cheeseburger everytime. They also have an assortment of beers that they brew on tap. I highly recommend for dinner dates or going out with friends!

We were visiting Cannon Beach for lunch and used Unilocal to find a quick place with good reviews. We ended up at Bill’s. I’m giving only 2 stars… One for the ambiance and the other for the blackberry beauty Beer. We took away a star because our waiter came up to us as we sat down and asked us what we wanted to drink, mind u we haven’t opened the menu nor settled ourselves to being first timers… He pointed to listing on wall and we felt pressured so we ordered what I read on the Unilocal reviews. Minus another star for the Shrimp and Cheese sandwich fail! I was not expecting baby shrimp. I was expecting nicely grilled full size shrimp sandwich. Ate half only coz I was hungry. And took the third star off because we never saw our waiter after he gave us our food. Will not eat here again… If anything, just go the bar and order beer.

A cozy, no-frills spot in Cannon Beach. I started with a fruit beer(blackberry?). Really satisfying and not overly sweet like many fruit beers. My husband and I shared the seafood stew(tomato-based) and a grilled cheese sandwich for dipping. Completely hit the spot on a cool evening. Honestly, the stew was my favorite dish in Cannon Beach!

Let me start by saying that the burgers are incredible, one of the best I’ve ever had. The only downside to this place is the service. If I was rating it just on food then it would be a 6 out of 5. The service isn’t the best. The food takes a long time to come out(I’ve been several times and this is always true). However, waiting really isn’t that big of a deal, since the burgers are so incredible. A second issue is that they claim to only be able to take 2 cards per table. I’ve been with a group of 4 and this was an issue; how can a restaurant not split a check more than 2 ways? I don’t get it. Overall: burgers here are the best. The service isn’t. I would still recommend it.

My husband and I stopped here when we were in town for our honeymoon, and we loved this place! We grabbed a seat on the patio as it was a beautiful fall day. Keep in mind you need to order inside or you won’t be served. I got a grilled chicken sandwich, and it was SO good! My husband got a burger and tried some of their beer. Loved this place! Would recommend if you’re shopping in the area or need a break from enjoying the beach.

I always love to support a local spot. The beer was fine, the service was mediocre and the food was just okay. All in all, there are many other spots I’d visit in Cannon Beach before heading back to Bill’s. If you’re in the mood for a greasy burger or sandwich and don’t want to worry about a wait, Bill’s is probably your place. For me, though, when I visit the beach I’m ultimately looking for a sweet, cozy spot with delicious northwest fare.

I just had a beer here this time, but I’ve had food here before too. For a beer I had the blackberry wheat which was really tasty and had a lot of fruit flavor. The beers were reasonably priced. Just by looking at the menu the prices were not horrible for Cannon Beach. There was a 5 piece halibut & chips for like $ 15 or so. Not a bad deal! If I were in a Cannon Beach i would stop here again!

Bills is a bit of a mixed bag. We stopped in on a Wednesday night and were seated immediately, and the waiter brought menus and drinks very quickly. We placed our orders and waited. And waited. And waited. The waiter checked in with us and the kitchen numerous times, refilling our drinks, clearly trying his best to get our orders moving. It wasn’t just us, either — all the tables seemed to have a long wait for food. The kitchen is S.L.O.W. When the food finally arrived, it was quite good — basic burgers, fish and chips. Nothing extraordinary, but we both enjoyed what we ordered. I think Bills would be a good place to go if you wanted to have a few beers before eating, or hang out a good long time. It’s not a good place to go if you’re already hungry when you sit down.

F**K MESIDEWAYS the blackberry beauty beer is delicious!!! I don’t drink much beer. In fact, I probably drink a 6 pack annually. But this beer was amazing. Holy s**t was it delicious. It was light and refreshing with a nice taste of blackberry. It was a little hoppy but nothing heavy or overwhelming. Definitely a nice light beer for anyone who doesn’t want something filling. The burger was pretty awful. The meat didn’t taste fresh, the buns disintegrated into oblivion, the bacon was tasty though, and the tillamook cheddar was awful. I know Tillamook products are the pride of many and maybe the cheddar is great as is or with some wine but it was TERRIBLE cooked. It let out so much grease that it took us awhile to figure out where all that grease came from. It’s definitely not a good cheese to put on a burger. I had a difficult time finishing it because that cheese just had so much oil it made it difficult to enjoy the actual burger. The service was wonderful though. I feel sorry for the lady working the entire restaurant by herself including the bar, but she multi-tasked really well and was really attentive throughout the meal. DISCLAIMER: I’m giving it 4 stars because of the service and that amazing beer. I’d pass on the burger and fries though and give that a 2 at best. One of the only places open in this sleepy town that’s still off-season.
