Typical candy store with local Tillamook ice cream. More of taffy and other barrels of bulk candy.

They served Tillamook ice cream and had salted butterscotch! ! Amazing! Reminds me of Midwestern butter brickle ice cream that’s impossible to find on the west coast.

Fudge and saltwater taffy are great. I recommend the peanut butter fudge. I could do without the biblical quotes and Creationist Museum posters on the wall though — leave that stuff out of your business.

I could do without the teenage attitude /inefficiency. But I think that’s part of the package. Scoops are small and cones taste old.. I prefer the Grill and Scoop for my ice cream. Less flavors but the cones are fresh and the scoops are bigger. Teens, but less attitude.

Pros: taffy selection/quality is very good. Younger people working there tend to be very friendly and helpful(some of the older ones, not so much). Has a strong selection of lots of different kinds of «old-school» candy, along w/ice cream, and other soda fountain goodies. Cons: the #1 reason I come here is to get a pound of cappuccino Jelly Belly beans to last me a few months, as I cannot find them in Portland. However, both last year and this year, I found that they had mixed in a large assortment of chocolate beans w/the cappuccino ones. Evidently, they simply cannot tell the difference between two completely different brown beans. Very disappointing to get home and find I only had half as many cappuccino beans as I had wanted. My recommendation is to not blindly dispense something w/o ensuring it is what you wanted(took me two trips to figure that out). Overall, not a bad store, and deserves a similar rating to Bruce’s Candy Kitchen(although for different reasons). However, if you really want even more selection, I highly recommend Seaside, especially The Buzz on Broadway.

With a wonderful assortment of quirky candy, Schweitert’s is another one Cannon Beach’s must-visit places. Do you need a lollipop with a bug in it to gross out your friends? They have it. Bertie Bott’s disgusting jellybeans? They have it. There’s also some damn fine ice cream, house made fudge, and other delights. My favorite part is the saltwater taffy assortment, which takes up much of the floorspace, and features a unique selection of flavors like cherry cola and chili mango. It’s all quite good.

The fudges, chocolates, candies, and more are beyond amazing! Every time I’m at Cannon Beach, I make a point of stopping by.
