I recently gave a bad review to an oil change place for falsifying their inspection checklist. And that was my car. This is my health. If you lie about that, you know we’re gonna have problems… I recently went to the Minute Clinic to deal with some poison ivy because I couldn’t get into see my PCP. And the itchiness… so much itchiness. I think the actual health care I received was inadequate/ineffective. Since this isn’t someone who knows my medical history, I might have been willing to split the blame on that one. I get that I’m super sensitive to poison ivy. I probably would not have gone back, but I wouldn’t necessarily trash the business model. If you are uninsured, if you don’t have a PCP, if you need the extended hours — I can see a place for Minute Clinics in the world. But the copy of my «medical history» that they gave me says that I did not have a flu shot in the past year and that the provider advised me about the importance of flu shots. Now that right there is bullshit. If I had been asked about flu shots, I would have said that I got one this past year as I do every year. And the nurse practitioner would not have needed to advise me to get a flu shot. Which is good… because she didn’t. I get that it isn’t flu season. I get that the 2014 – 2015 flu shots aren’t available yet. I get that I wasn’t there that day for anything remotely related to the flu. Noting that we didn’t discuss the flu shot would have been fine with me. But don’t lie on my medical reports. Patient-provider communication is based on trust. They lost mine. If you are looking for a drop-in style health practice, I suggest you find another one.

Waste of time and money. The staff member misdiagnosed my husband, who was there for possible strep throat. She sent him to a local hospital-owned urgent care for a chest xray, which was unecessary per the physician there. My husband was then told that he should have just been given a prescription for an antibiotic, from the staff at the Minute Clinic. It is very upsetting having to pay for TWO doctors visits because this person did not do her job properly.
