Direct Optical

I came here for the first time for an eye exam. The staff is very professional. The doctor was very succinct in his answers. They weren’t pushy in trying to sell me glasses. Very pleasant experience getting my prescription.

I have been a customer at Direct Optical for many years and when the Canton store opened I followed Mariana there. I would never get glasses from anywhere else. The store is beautiful and the staff is more than awesome. They will always make the best effort to give you the best pricing possible. I have a big melon, so it is can sometimes be difficult to find frames that fit me and that don’t make me look like a «Get in the Van!» man. I have had awesome luck with Prada and Tom Ford and they didn’t break the bank. My absolute favorite pair of glasses has to be my Oliver Peoples that Mariana picked out for me. The one time I picked out frames for myself and Mariana was not there it was not good, I looked like a hot mess. Robert is fantastic and they have a lab right there on site, twice now I have been able to walk in, get my eye exam and walk out with completed glasses. They aren’t always able to do that, but in a pinch they can generally make it happen. Do not go anywhere else, do not trust your vision to an other optometrist. Even if you think you cannot afford nice glasses, go see them, I have noticed that they have a price-​point for everyone, my entire family goes here because we have been patients since the 80’s but we all started going to Canton when it opened. The atmosphere is much different than most other eyeglass places, they treat you like a member of the family, even if you have never been there before or are just browsing. Cannot say enough good things about this place and its staff.

Great selection and caring staff, would not shop anywhere else. The atmosphere is very relaxing and I enjoy stopping in frequently to see what new frames have arrived, as they are always sure to carry the newest styles! Thanks Direct Optical

I called Direct Optical in 2104 researching glasses. I spoke to the owner. She was so responsive, reassuring and enthusiastic I decided to go to DO instead of other optical stores I’d researched. I received excellent service and nice glasses though a bit higher price than I’d planned. One year later in 2015, though I cared well for them, my glasses broke. Upon my return to the store, the manager immediately replaced my glasses with a similar pair without question. That’s service. But it remains to be seen what they will do should I have another problem. I’ve never had glasses break in such a short time. Meanwhile, I’m very happy with my experience at Direct Optical.

The only reason I’m even writing this review is because of Robert (I think he’s customer relations). The doctor was very straight forward and to the point, I forgot his name. The staff seemed pretty nice. Robert was outstanding. He is very easy to talk to and knows how to correct your misinformed perceptions about the products without making you feel like an idiot. He went above and beyond on helping me order my contacts, explaining the benefits of ordering through them instead of the Internet, and he made me feel like I was the only client they had even though he only spent a few minutes with me. I felt rushed with everyone else in the building but Robert did not make me feel like that at all, and what’s funny is he didn’t spend anymore time with me than anyone else. There’s also an African American lady that sits at the front desk who is kind and will bring you refreshments if your wait for the doctor will b a bit longer. Overall it was a good experience. I will be coming back because of Rob though, he was the deciding factor. They would get 3 stars if it wasn’t for him.

I have purchased glasses for the last 3 years from Direct Optical. I have been serviced by both locations Canton and Farmington Hills. I have found the selection of frames at both stores to be great. They offer a variety of frames by different designers at all price ranges.
My service has always been stellar. I recently broke a pair of Tom Ford Frames that I love and they were able to provide me with a pair of frames while mines was on back order!
The staff is always knowledgable, friendly and attentive. This is also a place to check out for Sunglasses and kids frames.

I have been here several times now and each time I walked out happy. They are always so friendly and helpful From the time I walk in to the time I leave. I wouldn’t go to any other place for my glasses and contacts.

After a bad experience with a big chain eyeglass company my cousin told me to go to Direct Optical where he got his glasses and was treated well. When I first walked in I was greeted by the friendly staff who were eager to help me. The doctor there was very nice, professional, and thorough. He took his time with me instead of rushing me out like «the other place.» They have a ton of nice frames to pick from. They sat me down when they were finished with my glasses and made adjustments to make sure they fit perfectly. I’ve never had a place take so much time to make sure that my glasses fit so well and that I was 100% satisfied. It’s nice to do business with people who actually take pride in their work and enjoy helping their customers. I think I was in there for a total of two hours before I walked out with my new awesome glasses… and that’s only because I spent AT LEAST a half hour picking out frames! I love my new glasses and I would highly recommend that everybody go to Direct Optical to get theirs as well. You won’t be disappointed!

I came here after hearing their ad on the radio it was a great experience. I was in and out within two hours and with a new pair of seeing eyeglasses that are fabulous Christian Dior! I walked in and was greeted right away with a pleasant lady who ran my insurance card, and got me in right away for an eye exam and tried on many different frames. The doctor there was very professional and so kind. I was also pleased to find Mr. Savich there as he is one of my mutual friends and was so helpful and excited to see me there. After my exam, my lenses were cut and my frames were fit to my measurements. I love my new blingy frames and will be coming back for anything else I need. Did I mention they have a huge enormous amounts of frames to choose from? Huge!

We had a terrible experience at Direct Optical. We set up a discount program with them for our company and they gave us the dog and pony show to get us in the door and its been down hill since. They were to directly bill our company and they sent personal information of one employee to ANOTHER employee! An employee went into their location misinterpreting the program we had set up and received a very unprofessional response in return. In response to the misinterpretation, the owner of the company called yelling at me, not giving any kind of opportunity to respond or render the situation. The heated conversation was all over $ 29! Direct Optical has lost the respect of myself and my entire company.

I got my first pair of glasses ever from Direct Optical in Canton. I found almost all of the staff friendly and helpful, and the one issue I did have was promptly and professionally handled. Working in retail myself gives me a really deep appreciation for how a company fixes an issue if one arises. The optometrist who performed the exam, my first in over 12 years, was very polite and honest to a degree I wasn’t expecting. My glasses were delivered 5 days before the end of the time frame I was given, and the process of picking them up and getting properly fitted was fast and painless. Despite the rather shocking review I found when I logged into Unilocal today, I can only find good reasons to recommend this company. I look forward to my new plan year and getting a pair of prescription sunglasses which I will certainly get from Direct Optical. Here’s to hoping there is some sun in January! Even if there isn’t, I know it’ll be at least warm and friendly at this store.

Awesome customer service. They greeted me right when I walked in. The gentleman helping me pick my frames was mindful of my tight budget and didn’t try to con me into something more expensive, plus the frames he picked looked fabulous on me. He has a great eye for what looks good on people!
The woman who helped me with my order was also mindful of my budget and didn’t try to push me into unnecessary add-​ons. She also straightened out a minor issue with my insurance.
The frame selection is tremendous and the prices are very reasonable. I am very happy with Direct Optical and will return when my daughter needs glasses this fall!
