My husband and I love sushi tried this place out today, the sushi was okay, I’ve had better. It all looked very beautiful and the service was great but after eating basic sushi nothing amazing and getting a bill for $ 70 ehh probably won’t be heading back.

Hands down my favorite sushi place in the area. Very friendly staff, very nice atmosphere, and very affordable. They have a different roll for everyone, whether its a basic roll, or something more complex for the sushi connoisseur.

korean/japanese combo place. Good food(I especially like the combos with kalbi and soondubu) although less familiar with their sushi offerings than their korean offerings(pretty sure the owners are Korean so I’d guess their Korean food is better in general). smallish restaurant but reasonable ambiance. friendly service. decent value. not a bad place for getting some japanese/korean food around the canton area.

Very nice and I’ve had meals there 30 times. Very good sushi and the staff is great. They bring over rolls I didn’t even order just to try them out. Very good. Love it

Great food and excellent customer service! My daughter and I came for dinner. Our food was fresh and very tasty. When it came time to pay, I realized that I left my wallet in my work bag and didn’t have a way to pay. Our server, Jean, offered to cover my bill until I could return with the money. Who does that anymore?!? I was grateful for her offer and while I was able to obtain the info to pay my bill, I really appreciated her offer to help me in an unusual situation. Thank you, Jean, for your wonderful service and kindness. We will be returning for dinner again :) We had the goyzo, California rolls, Hungry roll and it’s the only place that I liked the miso soup! YUMM!!!

Good quality sushi. Delicious. The spicy tuna salad has a nice portion of that and seaweed salad. Say yes to Michigan roll. Udon bowl very good as well… ask for shrimp on the side so you don’t soak away that delicious tempura crunch. The ambiance was more intimate and conversational than a typical sushi place. I’d go back!

The good here was amazing, the Miso Soup is the same anywhere u go but the rolls were way better than many places I have been, we had the Vegas Roll, Spicy California roll, the Canton Roll, Sushimi. It was all amazing and fresh rolled, the vibe is really cool along with the service being really quick and spontaneous. I would definitely recommend this place and come here again.

My wife loves the sushi and I hate the service. Came here on a busy Sunday evening. Everyone was being waited on intently and our server greeted us promptly. My wife’s sushi order came up promptly to share with my daughter. I waited another 20 minutes before I stood up and asked for the check prior to my order being served. They asked me if I wanted to have the food to which I replied«I don’t care I want to leave». They give me my check(which of course included the food I had ordered almost an hour ago) and I walked out. Most likely never to return again

I’ve been there a few times this past month, and I just love this place. Bi Bim Bab, Kolabi, soups, dumplings, and sushi rolls … all were great. I’ve lived in New York for a couple years, and was looking for a good Korean place, and this has definitely filled the void. It is a little pricey but not too bad. They do have a small seating area, and they do fill up fast at peak hours.

Best sushi in town. I’m from San Diego and this place tops a lot of sushi restaurants in Cali. The sushi chef is very proud of his work and puts a lot of thought, effort and perfection into each dish. The place is really small but the food is so damn good it doesn’t matter. The cucumber salad is simple but has incredible flavor depth(as well as each roll I have tried). I love this place and highly recommend it. Katsu chicken is also delicious and a huge portion.

Excellent choice of creative fresh and tasty rolls. Small seating area, but food and service make up for it. Plates and drink glasses are plastic which makes for more of a diner feel compared to the Dearborn location’s classy feel. Will definitely be back.

Small little sushi place inside the strip mall area with Buffalo Wild Wings. Good food, not amazing but decent sushi for Michigan, I suppose. Most of the fish in the sushi is actually cooked, much of it deep fried. They do have some bento boxes of raw fish you can order, but it doesn’t come as part of a sushi roll. And the crab appears to be all imitation crab. Was bummed to not see the sushi boat on the menu. Miso soup is good and pretty much complimentary with any entrée or sushi roll order. Osaka roll was bland but Canton roll was delicious. Calamari is definitely an appetizer only portion and comes with sweet and sour sauce. Comes in rings and all you taste is the fried. Staff is friendly although they rush around like it’s rush hour in Tokyo(and while I’m sure Canton tries, they just can’t muster quite the crowd). They were attentive though, even if they did try to rush off in the middle of our order. Oh, also, they push around a dirty cart with good and/or dirty dishes on it. And they cut off customers when walking through the aisles because they are in such a rush. You can order a Shappiro and Asahi, as well as a type of sake and Coke products. Probably seats 40, but turnover is pretty quick. Ample lot parking. Single bathrooms but they are clean.

My absolute favorite place to get sushi in Metro Detroit! I have been coming here for almost 3 years now and I have a wonderful experience every time. They bring you miso soup free of charge with all sushi orders. It’s so flavorful and savory! My favorite rolls are the Chili Tai, Nicholas, Paradise Roll, Spicy California, and Spicy Shrimp Tempura. I have also had several veggie rolls including cucumber and avocado! All very fresh and flavorful! Their spicy mayo is yummy too! I usually dip my rolls in that or soy sauce with a little wasabi mixed in. At the end when they bring the check the give you orange slices which I think is a cute gesture. The staff is always friendly and makes you feel welcomed! Highly recommend.

Just went here, very disappointed overall. We ordered Kalbi, roll, and a seafood pancake. The Kalbi was really chewy, and gamey, would not get it again. The pancake and sushi roll were just ok, the pancake was really burnt. We often eat Korean food and will not be back here.

Went here today and all I can say is WOW. Like many others have said the outside looks a bit sketchy but the inside is comfortable and nice looking. The sushi was very fresh and delicious and the meal came with complimentary miso soup whiz was a nice touch compared to the sushi place I usually go to. The have a wide variety of rolls. And the gyazo(dumplings) were delicious as well. I’m not familiar with many of the other dishes, but from the looks of the tables around us I wouldn’t mind giving them a try. This place is definitely something I would recommend !

Very impressed with the sushi here. I highly recommend ordering 1– spicy tuna crunch 1– calamari crunch 1– shrimp tempura The service is great! The inside is a bit small, but it’s a nice environment. The staff seem friendly and answered any questions I had. I never would of went into this restaurant honestly because of its location and looks a bit sketch next to ikea; but it’s definitely a «hole in the wall» business. I’ve tried many sushi restaurants and this is a return to!

Came across Kabuki on a Saturday night when Izakaya was packed up(as usual). Needless to say, I’m very glad we did. We made a return visit this Saturday for a date night. The space inside is very intimate, which is great for a couple or a family of four, but I wouldn’t recommend trying to seat a large group. The staff is relatively lax but very friendly and welcoming. The sushi quality is very good, I don’t think as good as Izakaya but comparable to O’Sushi. I’m a big fan of the Canton roll. Frankly though, the best part of the menu are the Korean entrees. My fiancée got the bibimbap and I got the kalbi and soondubu combo. The soondubu and bibimbap are both serve in stone bowls which keeps the food nice and hot throughout the meal. It’s ends up being a ton of food and the flavors are fantastic. The spice level was balanced too, sating both her more sensitive palate and my love for heat. The bibimbap has become her go-to for whenever we visit Kabuki, and I may end up alternating between sushi and the combo because they’re both so enjoyable.

Perhaps we came on a lazy day, but that’s what we got: lazy food. Preparation was mediocre, and once again, temperatures and flavors were flat and cold, respectively. We happen to be in the area to do some shopping at IKEA, and were in the mood for some Korean food. I know what you all might be thinking, «why would you go to a Japanese named restaurant for Korean food?» You see, though Kabuki has an array of sushi rolls, they also have Korean selections. We went with their seafood soondubu(per recommendation from Liz W. — thanks chica!), bulgolgi, and gyoza appetizer. Tofu soup had good flavor, but it wasn’t hot. In fact, it didn’t come out bubbling like it’s supposed to, and they already cracked the egg inside and didn’t even mix it. It just clumped up into a hard ball, and wasn’t appealing. Because the soup didn’t come out bubbling, it made us wonder how long it had been sitting there, or if it was even made fresh. Portion size was typical, and for the $ 10.95 price tag, it felt short in the quality and variety of seafood. 1 shrimp, 2 bay scallops, and 1 clam doesn’t scream variety to us. The bulgolgi($ 12.95) had good flavor too, but once again, lukewarm to cool in temperature. Even the onions that were served with it weren’t cooked evenly. Some were raw still, and some were nicely caramelized. Strange, no? Good portion though. Our gyoza appetizer had 6 nice size pieces, at $ 5.50. Crispy skin, and good filling, but the dipping sauce was horribly flat. It tasted mostly like sesame oil with sweet soy sauce. No heat, no acidity. Blah. After a couple dips, we just ended up eating it without the sauce. Banchan were below average in quality and variety. Kim chi wasn’t spicy enough or with enough acidity. Too one note, and in this case, it was sweet. The pickled daikon and carrot were probably the only ones that were good, providing good crisp, cool, and tart texture/flavors. Fried tofu slivers were okay, but everything else, were a pass. Although our food wasn’t to our 100% liking, the ladies who were manning the floor were sweet and quick on their feet. Big smiles on their faces, and they did check up on us. I just would have liked things to be a bit more put together when it comes to food preparations, quality control, and execution. Like I said, maybe it was just a lazy day that we came on, and I’d be willing to try this place out another time.
