Popeyes Chicken & Biscuits

It’s a Thursday night and this is ridiculous, 32 minutes to get through the drive-​through. Six cars ahead of me & don’t know what’s going on they wouldn’t tell me. No apology or discount. Unacceptable. I would’ve given up but I placed my order.

This is the complaint I sent to Popeye’s Corporate office on 1÷5÷16 about our visit on ¹³⁄₁₆. As of today I still have not heard back from Popeye’s, so that shows me they don’t care about the crappy food and service they provide.
The complaint:
My lady friend and I came in and ordered our meals. Her fish was not fresh and we both noticed our food tasted like it had been cooked in old oil. I used to manage a KFC and am well acquainted with how oil needs to be maintained in a chicken joint. I ate my chicken, but she could not eat her fish. When the young man who brought our order out brought out an order to another table she motioned him over and he said he would bring out some fresh fish. During our entire time there this young man acted as if any movement on his part was an extreme act of torture and any type of physical activity was beyond him. She waited for a few minutes and he had not brought out her fresh fish. I then had to use the restroom and guess who was coming out of the men’s room when I came in??? YES! It was Mr. Slow Bones! I spent a good period of time in the restroom, having to first clean the filthy toilet which had urine covering the seat. So it was obvious Mr. Slow Bones was not in the men’s room to clean it! When I came out my lady friend motioned me and she STILL had not been brought her fresh fish. This was at least 20 minutes after she had been promised it. I then went to the counter to inquire and Mr. Slow Bones slowly turned around and picked some fish out of the holding cabinet. It was obvious it had already been there, so there was no telling when it had came out of the fryer. And it was obvious he had made no effort to bring it to her table. By then she had me go back to the counter and get a box to take it with her. She was extremely angry by then, so it was good I went to the counter and not her. She also pointed out the woman who was running the shift was sitting at the table behind me, playing on her phone rather than minding the store. After this experience we will not return.

First time eating at Popeyes. Food tasted like a cold, greasy salt lick. Even the biscuits were (literally) caked in salt. Threw it all on the garbage uneaten. Never again.

Popeye’s is Popeye’s, At it’s best, you can’t beat it. I suggest for this location you stop at a busy time. I will say that they really have some great people working in this location and the food is more right than wrong.
Chicken fresh from the fryer is always best. It’s a cheap alternative to a more expensive chain and pretty good for the most part. Time before last they had this older lady in the lobby just walking around meeting people and making sure everything was great. One thing for sure, if you aren’t satisfied with something, they will make it right. You can’t ask for more than that.
I’m glad we have one here in Cape Girardeau.

When I’ve gotta have a fried chicken fix, this is the place! Great chicken and Cajun spiced food!

Consistently good, hot, fresh food! One of the best Popeyes I have visited. Their fried chicken is always juicy and piping hot! Prices are very cheap, would pay more for what you get!

When we are traveling through Cape. We always stop by Popeyes for some great chicken & red beans and rice.

I’ve eaten here a few times nice place has a take out quick and friendly food is great.

Food has been consistently good at this location. Love the Crawfish (November only)!
The restaurant is clean and there is plenty of seating. There is a drive-​thru available.
Employees are friendly and efficient.
