I like to go to IHOP a couple times a year; my dad and I usually go around Christmas time and I like to try the seasonal specials. This IHOP is near my bff’s mom’s house but it’s been awhile since I’ve been there. I wanted to try the Tropical Pancakes they’ve been advertising and so we went here. And yeah, it’s an IHOP. The service at this location was pretty good but the food was only so-so. Not bad, but not as advertised either. I saw the bacon chicken with potato hash dish and it sounded awesome, but I had some reservations given that it sounded more like a dish at a fancy non-chain brunch restaurant and I didn’t know whether IHOP could pull it off. But I gave in and ordered it along with the banana macadamia nut«tropical pancakes.» So, yeah, neither dish was bad, but neither was as advertised. That hollandaise sauce that the chicken dish was supposed to come with? Not there. But the potatoes were well seasoned and came with fresh-tasting peppers and onions, and the chicken was decently cooked. I also didn’t notice any macadamias in the pancakes, but the butter rum sauce was awesome. So yeah, standard IHOP. It was pretty crowded this afternoon(probably the after-church crowd), but they told us it would be a 15 minute wait and seated us in about 10. It took a little while for the food to come out, but all in all it was reasonable.

It’s a real shame that I had registered a complaint on the IHOP website about his location on Friday June 17, 2016 and not one time did I receive an email or phone call apologizing for the extremely lack of service my 4 year old son and I experienced. So since they don’t care let me just go ahead and tell the entire world of how piss poor of a service was given on that day. It happened to be a day to which I finished work early and that my son was out of daycare for the day. We decided we wanted pancakes from IHOP. We go there and were seated rather quickly. As probably should because it was around 2:00pm and hardly anyone there. We waited almost ten minutes for anyone, someone, for that matter an insect, to come to the table and at least take our drink order. Nothing happened except seeing the wait staff gathered around talking to each other or taking care of other tables(weren’t that many tables to take care of, 2:00pm remember?), not even a manager in sight. So I had to tell my son no pancakes today to which telling a 4 year he can’t have something that was promised is not a good thing. I dare you to try it. So since the powers to be at IHOP could care less about how my son and I feel then I could care less about giving YOUR company any of my money again. Especially the Central Ave in Capital Heights location. So good luck and hope you’re glad that you’ve pissed off a long standing customer! If I could go below one star, I would give about a negative 100 stars for the LACK of care, concern and customer service.

We just had a terrible experience at this IHOP. Slow kitchen to the point of three of us being done with our meals before the fourth meal came. The ONLY good part was our server Donald. He was pleasant and apologetic. He asked the manager to come talk to us and the manager wandered around doing nothing but never came over. Donald took care of it though.

I wish I could give zero stars. My family and I just left this horribly run establishment. We were immediately seated but once seated sat for 20 minutes without acknowledgement. There were about 15 servers standing around the kitchen and cleaning tables. We heard multiple servers say no I don’t want that table or I’m off. This was one of the worst experiences ever. We refused to spend our money if we couldn’t get service. After waiting for what felt like forever, we left and took our business elsewhere. IHOP you have TRULY gone down hill. No longer will we visit an IHOP again.

Longest wait I ever had. The manager asked me for a quickie just so I wouldn’t write this bad review! I cannot believe this place, terrible service. They probably never get any tips.

This is what i get for breaking routine. Every friday i go to Golden Corral for breakfast. Since i had extra time to kill i said let me go to Ihop on Central Avenue. BIGMISTAKE. I get there and make my order at 7AM sharp. I order a California Scramble and they say it’ll take 15 min. I sit down and talk with another patron who’s waiting on his food also. Needless to say 30 min go by and no food. Even the guy i was talking with that ordered 1 minute before me finally got his food after 35 min. 40 min go by and I ask one of the waiters wheres the food and he says its on its way out. Another waitress asks me my name and she says its almost ready. Almost ready??? Its scrambled eggs with avocado and hashbrown with salsa topping!!! Theres 4 people sitting and eating… whats the hold up… even some patrons that came and were leaving offered me condolences bcuz they were baffled that i was still sitting there waiting. So i ask for my money back because i need to get to work and im lightheaded from hunger. So she begins to fiddle with the cash register and then the manager comes to the register… seconds later someone brings my food. So of course I request some sort of compensation and explanation. The manager says the cook didnt know how to make the dish. 0_o…Excuse me? LOL… then what the hell is he/she doing behind the grill? So the manager offered me a free juice or coffee… 0_o! For an extra half hour wait u want to offer me 50 cents worth of a beverage. No maam. So she finally offers me 40% off my next order to which i accepted. So she hands me my food but im expecting some sort of voucher or something. She says«Oh dont worry Ill remember you. I never forget a face»… Nice try lady. I tell her to write it down. So she writes down some little note on the back of my receipt I guess that im supposed to present like some sort of loon at my next possible visit. What kind of place is this… and what kind of management??? My next problem is my damn dish. You should see these hashbrowns. It looks like someone tried to make a hashbrown burger. The layer of potato on top was cooked too long and it made a skin of hard potato that i pretty much had to chop thru. Too bad Unilocal doesnt have some sort of alert system for when you pull up to an establishment it gives you some sort of automatic notification of the good and bads of the establishment. Ill only be going back here to use my 40% discount. I better not catch any mouth about it either. I would post a pic of my breakfast but I dont know how to on here.

If I could this place no stars, I would. We had the worse experience at the Central Ave location in Capital Heights, MD today. We waited 50 mins for our food and when it was brought out the waffle was on top of the eggs. We weren’t given any utensils or napkins to eat with. We think our waiter did not put in our order which is why it took so long. The manager did not care that we left or saw anything wrong with putting the waffle on top of the eggs. We will not be returning to another IHOP again.

This deserves 0 star. It was simply throw together. It’s not ever warm. Looks like someone sent it back and they gave it to me. I don’t feel like driving 15 minutes to take it back. Told my fiancé to remember to alway check take out food before he leave… lesson learned, a waste of money. How is this even presentable?

It’s rough around the edges(much like many of the patron), but it’ll do in a pinch. Every time I sit down, I can help but want to wipe the table and booths down with an antibacterial wipe. The place is ‘clean enough’, but when you see some of the dingy, shady characters in there, it make you wonder what was sitting at your table before you did. Enough about that. The seating is also a little more close than I would prefer. On my last visit, we were wedged in a center booth with«fidgety» people both in front of, and, behind us. My boyfriend’s mom kept getting jostled by this loud, fat man behind her who had to gesture with his whole body when he talked. My boyfriend and I were sitting across the table from her, and we had a huge group of people(including their squirming kids) squeezed into the booth, followed by this group of chicks who also felt the need to use full body gestures when they talked. I was lucky to leave there without getting whiplash. Surprisingly, the service has been really good here. The staff are friendly, patient, and attentive. Any problems with the food, they take care of them pretty quickly. Definitely better service than I expected, given that part of town. The food is ok. If you’re going for aesthetics or attention to detail, this isn’t your place. You’ll get your order: it will probably be correct but it likely won’t be pretty, so don’t expect it to match the photo in the menu. There are few things more hellish than this(or any) IHOP on Sundays. The waits are ridiculously long and you will see(and hear) some characters in there. This is by no means my favorite location of this restaurant, but it’s close to the boyfriend’s mom and she likes IHOP so we go whenever she’s in the mood for it. I could never visit this location again though, and be totally ok with it.

Compared to other IHOP’s, Diners, Denny’s, etc. this place is a definite 5-star. Great experience here. Arrived around 8am and were seated quickly. Rey was an attentive server — ensuring we were never in need of anything. I had the simple fit veggie omelette with coffee. I know it’s a standard for IHOP to provide the entire pot of coffee so you can keep yourself filled up but it still makes me giddy every time. The omelette was excellent. Filling in spite of it’s «healthy» option designation. Quality food, efficient service, quick in-and-out. Worth the trip if you are looking for a good old fashioned breakfast.

Do Not EAT Here. Go to VA or Crofton IHOP! Clearly standards of cleanliness are in question. Service was good but if you Have good service and poor food handling and quality what does it matter. Found a rotten grape in fruit salad. We had just about finished our meal when we saw the fruit salad. Asked for our breakfast ticket to be taken care of because it took away from the dining experience and we were given 20% discount. Really… this was only the beginning… The tables were dirty with dried food on it. Dishes were also dirty. Where there is smoke there is fire. A food inspector would shut the place down. These are clearly an indication of other issues.

First off, let me be clear: the four stars that I’m giving this place should be seen as a self-contained rating of this IHOP against other IHOPs or IHOP-like establishments(I’m talking to you Bob Evans) and not a comparison of IHOP against a ‘real’ restaurant. It’s like me giving an Eggo waffle a four star rating against a five star Pillsbury biscuit. I just had to throw that in there because I’m up for Unilocal Elite renewal and I don’t want anyone saying I’m mentally unfit for the job. Now that we’ve gotten that out of the way… This place exceeded my almost non-existent expectations this morning. My party of eight was seated immediately, which is normally a red flag, but with four small kids in tow, no one questioned it. Our waitress was super accommodating, and extremely patient. Another guy came over to see if we’d been taken care of and four different employees came over to ask if we were enjoying our meal. The food was delicious! I can’t believe I’m saying it. I’ve never really enjoyed IHOP’s food that much, but the cheesecake pancakes were great! The place was clean, the service was quick, and the staff was very friendly. I don’t know where this newfound sense of self respect came from, but IHOP is almost ready to move out of the«after-the-club-closes» division and into the big leagues.

I used to go to this IHOP pretty regularly… I say used to because I do believe I’m done. The last couple of times I went I attempted to call ahead. Which is what I usually did. December 6 I called about 4 or 5 times 2 of those times I was hung up on. The other times were either busy or seemed to be a fax machine. When I arrived there was a long line out the door long enough for the other customers/potential customers to have a lengthy conversation. I found myself in front of a lady who had called in and revealed that she also had been hung up on but continued to call until someone took her order. Needless to say she got her food and left. On December 20 I called repeatedly… no less than 20 times. Six of those times I was hung up on, the rest were either fax machine or busy. When I arrived I asked if there was something wrong with the phone. The lady told me that there was and I could talk to the manager(she offered the manager right away). Anyway, I explained to the manager how I had been calling and been hung up on or how the phone went to busy/fax, the manager starts telling me about how she called verizon because it keeps ringing to a fax. It almost seemed as if she didn’t believe what I was telling her. Honestly I would have accepted the answer if 1) the same thing hadn’t happened the last time I went to IHop and 2) when I returned to pick up my food the cashier was… on… the… phone… taking an order if you can believe it. As I have a parent with a medical condition who needs to eat at a certain time ON time I think that I’ll have to pick another place for breakfast.

My bf and I walked in at 5:58 and waited 13 minutes before anyone greeted us. 3 servers walked to the counter and none acknowledge our presence nor asked if we were helped. I looked around and its appear to be a slow Sunday evening. Rene was walking by and saw us standing there and quickly greeted us and asked if we were already being helped. He gave us a seat within 15 secs. Our drinks shortly arrived and so did our food. Rene was great, 5 stars Those 3 employees(Jada, Lauren, & Ashley) who failed to greet us gets a thumbs down

Quick fast and in a hurry. I was overall pleased with the service and taste. Our waiter was very quick and pleasant. My meal was the Brioche Cinnamon Toast, scrambled eggs-n-cheese, 2 strips of bacon. It was delicious. In and out in under 40 minutes.

I had a great dining experience and my waitress RAVEN. B was an absolute JEM! We were seated quickly, food was delicious, and the menu was pretty extensive. I have not been to IHOP in YEARS and now I want to go back but only when Raven. B is working. I don’t know if it was her exceptional customer service or the food, but I will definitely be going back on soon.

One of the best locations with food served as it is pictured on the menu. Food was so good, I was looking for a mom to slap lol. Big portions, too. Not sloppy. Served us someone’s half drunken coffee, we believe. Sustaining four stars because of how good the food was! However, the ghetto, teenage staff needs to go. Horrible service with attitudes, and this was on a Sunday. Still, I would return, but ask to be seated in the section of an adult server.

DONT… WASTE…YOUR…TIME. You’d have better luck doing McDonalds or Dunkin Donuts drive-thru for breakfast, or just stay at home and have a bowl of cereal. This place is that horrible and after 5 less-than-satisfactory visits, I won’t be going back — EVER. Last Saturday, we sat for 30 minutes waiting for our food and finally left. How do you understaff your kitchen on a Saturday afternoon(we weren’t even there during the breakfast rush), your biggest day? Tons of workers just standing around, while the tables need cleaning and the floor needs vacuuming. I hope this place shuts down and a business that can really offer good breakfast sets up shop.

Seems this IHOP gets a bad rating by many. However, I’ve done most around the beltway. This one is one of the better choices. Walking in on a Sunday morning typically is a bad idea. Come with patience. This morning we arrived at 9:56. We were eating by 1015 and walking out the door by 10:45. That is great service on a Sunday.. Oh by the way, this is one of the few IHOP’S in the area that do have wifi. A little slow but its got wifi. Today Carlos was on it. Great job.

Was craving chicken n waffles but didn’t know where to get it locally since not from the area. Must say these were pretty good. Not the best I’ve had, but still good.
