This place has really gone down hill. The location is prime but it’s a dirty, over-priced restaurant with slop for food.

The ahi appetizer is the best! The ahi was so fresh and the portion was so generous for the price. The fish and chips were done just right. I highly recommend this place. What an amazing view to enjoy.

Good, but not great. But it doesn’t have to be great because it’s in such a touristy spot. The fish and chips will not disappoint!

I’ve never had Shepard pie and I was totally won over by it! Came with a side of veggies and the mash potatoes acted as the pies crust. Sooo good! The boyfriend had the traditional fish and chips and boy that fish was huge! Incredibly tender with a light airy crisp! It had a nice pun touch to it. Had the futbol game playing and I peeped the owner having a small lunch with his daughters. Made me enjoy my meal even more knowing it was family owned. Nice touch.

We were looking for a nice place to have a glass of wine and view the ocean. This fit the bill! Cool little place right off the beach. Great service.

Loved it! We came in while exploring g the area and ended up enjoying delicious cold beer, having some good food and hearing some entertaining Karaōke! We hung out here pretty much all Friday night and started by just hanging at the bar and enjoying beers and each other’s company. Our bartender was Irish and poured a great Guinness! My friends all got the Tangerine Wheat but I stuck with Guinness because it’s delicious! I did appreciate that they had Tangerine Wheat though, it’s a fantastic beer and great when it’s hot out! After a few hours Karaōke started and things started getting crazy! There were a bunch of groups that came in and some great and not so great singers. I will say that everyone had a great time though! Throughout all the craziness out bartender kept us hydrated, all it took was a little eye contact and a nod from us and we had another round of beers! I will say the bar is the spot to be! We met some great people and of course it’s easier to keep your drink filled when you’re sitting right there. If you do have a spot and need to leave for the bathroom make sure someone’s is watching your seat! There were some people trying to poach ours the whole time, luckily we used the buddy system to keep them saved after the seal was broken. I learned they serve food until 11 which is awesome!!! I had the corned beef sandwich and it definitely paired with my Guinness well! I would definitely recommend coming here for beers, to watch a match on TV or for some weekend entertainment!

Always great service. Enjoyed being there on the patio while the kids play on the beach before we ate awesome burgers and I enjoy an adult beverage!!!

So, I love the location of this place. I sat outside, they had live music, it was great. They have a pretty great menu. I did think it was a bit pricey, though. I got the tuna tar tar app, and it was THEMOSTDELICIOUS app ever. I also got two beers. After tip my bill was $ 40. They food was good, but I dont feel like it was $ 40 good. Would I go back, YES! The staff was friendly, the scenery was beautiful, overall I had a great dinner. A lady has to wine and dine herself every now & then, right!!!

Britannia Arms in Capitola Village is the place to hear Irish music, eat classic pub fare, and drink a cool mug of stout to toast St. Paddy’s Pride — no matter your age!

We enjoyed Britannia Arms, cool energy with good service and a decent food selection. They were swamped when we were there, the staff was attentive and spot on. We went with our go to garlic fries. They were above average fries with a good amount of garlic. They have a good tap selection. With good local brews. It is one of the more enjoyable spots we’ve been to in the village. The outdoor seating isn’t right next to the beach but it was still very very nice to sit outside with the ocean breeze. We will be back for sure.

Food was not the best, but our group agreed the service was the finest we ever had! Our server went out of her way to be accommodating, and even offered to take our toddler(who is obsessed with trying to pay) up to process her credit card. Very convenient location next to the beach and good beers on tap too

Owner is surly. I was regular for years, came in one day and was double charged for allegedly walking out without paying the night before. Also CHP watches cars leaving premises and will pull over people and check their breath. If you toast the crown andy the owner will get abusive he is anti Tory.

Not a big fan of this place. The servers are all nice but the owner is rude and unpleasant, he seems to always be there too. Most of the food is greasy and mushy, maybe they need to change the oil in the fryer more often or something. I’ve given them a few chances because the location is great but have been disappointed every time :(

Worst service ever! We came to Capitola for a weekend getaway and stopped in for a drink. Sat at the bar and was ignored. Bartender moved around us, cleaned off an area at the bar, made a drink for a server and never acknowledged us. He could have at minimum said he’d be right with us, but nothing. We waited a little longer than usual to see if he’d finally say something but no luck. Worse service ever I’d never go back.

My lady and I were on a quick getaway to Capitola and was making our way through the strip, having drinks along the different places. When we got here, the atmosphere was nice, lively and we were seated right away. We wanted to switch it up a bit and have a little grub so we both ordered a Black and Tan and split the 2 piece fish and chips. Now for $ 17 your hoping that it’s the best fish and chips in the world, and I must say, it was incredible. The two pieces were huge, the batter was cooked to perfection and even the chips were cooked well. The homemade tarter sauce and vinegar was a perfect addition. Overall, leaving the place happy and satisfied with our visit, would def come back.

Jackie !! Awesome service thank you !! However, We ordered calamari and we weren’t happy with the plate and canceled our order so Sydney came and said we had to pay for it no matter what which I think it’s bullshit why should anyone pay for something that they’re not happy with. Long story short she got pissed at us for canceling the order. My middle finger goes up to Sydney we were willing to stay there and continuer drinking but she rather lose customers over $ 12. What a dumb B&@$# !

Britannia is one of my favorite places in Capitola Village. It’s just a really nice place to chill and get drinks and food, especially appetizers. Their margaritas are the only drink I’ve gotten, but are very strong and delicious. When it comes to food, they have really good beef or chicken nachos on their appetizers list. I always want to get them. They also have a huge platter on the appetizers with all these different kinds of food, which is really good. It should be split between four people. They have plenty of indoor seating but also a really nice patio for when the weather is nice. The service can sometimes be a little slow, but overall I’ve had very good experiences!

Worst experience I’ve ever had. We sat and ordered two drinks(Black Velvet and a Jack and Coke) and an order of chicken nachos. We asked for no onions and no tomatoes and our server Laura seemed to understand as she read back our order to us. She came to drop off the drinks, and didn’t come back until our nachos were ready. As she’s dropping the nachos off at our table, she says«oh you ordered no onions…» And I was just happy to accept them anyway, they looked delicious! But about 3 – 4 bites into the nachos, we noticed the cheese was a bit overboard and not melted very much. It took 20 minutes for Laura to return to our table(as she had been greeting about 5 – 6 other tables.) And when I said we both didn’t like our nachos, and asked to have the nachos sent back or remade. She laughed, and said«Sorry you should have said something sooner because now I can’t do anything for you.» And then I said«no, I’m not looking to have them taken care of, I just want to have them taken away from my table.» She said«I’ve never had anyone complain about too much cheese on nachos, I’ll grab our owner to talk to you.» I said«M’am my issue isn’t paying for the meal, I just wasn’t happy with the food.» And our conversation was ended by her walking away with the nachos laughing. Dropping off our check without eye contact or a word, not even thank you. Never visiting this Brit or any other location again. So unbelievably rude!

I love English pubs. And this is the most English a pub can get without being in the UK. They have brown sauce, big portions, Guiness on draft, a very friendly/social atmosphere and staff, and the food is AWESOME. Try a Snakebite. If you don’t know what one is, don’t ask, just try one. They make the best on I’ve ever had! Also, their patio is absolutely dog-friendly. Which is a wonderful thing to be able to say, and nice to be able to find. The owner loves dogs, and all he asks is that he gets a visit in.
