I am so sorry to give a poor review — I used to get pedicures here regularly, but the place has gone down hill since the change in ownership last year. Fumes were really awful a couple of times, and it has been really, really frustrating that the technicians that are there now speak very little English.

This place has come a long way. The new manager messaged me and was apologetic about my previous experience so I decided to give it a second chance. Service was nice, every one seemed pleasant and I didn’t feel any bad vibes. I got a good pedicure and no greasy legs this time!

I feel bad to put such a low rating but my experience there was pretty bad. The staff was very friendly but my manicurist was shaky and my manicure was pretty awful. The nails were not properly filled with nail polish leaving some unpainted lines on the sides, and were out of the nail and on the cuticle. Went there with two friends, one of them liked her pedicure and the other was also unsatisfied with her manicure. Nice staff but definitely won’t go back.

I love this nail salon. It is spacious and comfortable. It is nicely decorated and fairly quiet for a large salon. I came here regularly when it first opened and had Danny do my nails until I moved out of the area. I moved back recently and was happy to find Danny still at his station at Red Carpet. I made an appointment yesterday for a fill, pedicure and waxing. All were done to perfection and I couldn’t be happier! I brought my mom too for a mani-pedi. I would like to add that because I have ‘problem nails’ I have had many bad services over the years. Danny is one of the best nail technicians I have ever had. He is professional and hard working. Very experienced and fast. It may sound silly but having my nails look nice gives me confidence and peace of mind. I can’t stand when I pay to have my nails done and they are falling apart in a week. Not the case with Danny. I recommend making an appointment so you don’t have to wait.

Very bad customer service, the nail set I got done was gel nails and she charged me 50 $ and did very bad job on my nails. But pedicure was great 20 $ for pedicure and 10 minutes massage. I will go here only for pedicure not for full set.

Unfortunately some of the rudest service I’ve ever had. The ladies doing pedicures are super nice and do a great job — thus the 3 stars. However, Danny, who’s done my nails twice now is a very rude man. For an ok job on my nails, I will not be back for a 3rd time.

I stopped by for a manicure on a Monday afternoon and didn’t have to wait which I appreciated. Their polish selection was average — I had a hard time finding something I wanted that wasn’t a shade of red. I went with a light color that needed three coats and they happily gave me a third coat without needing to ask. However, it’s been two days and I’m already seeing the polish crack. Some chips, but mostly cracks. I could have done a better job myself at home, but it was nice to relax for a bit! They charge an extra $ 1 for card transactions, bringing my manicure to $ 13. The pedicures seem to be good deals though, starting at $ 10. It seemed like Trish and Danny were the ones you want to go to, but I had someone else and was a bit disappointed. I’d come back but only after trying somewhere new!

Awesome place! I got my manicure done by Trish, the owner’s daughter. She recommended gel color so it would last longer. I love the result. Theyre super shiny and pretty Cannot be happier

Loved the pedi I got today! So happy to finally find a place I like in Santa Cruz. I appreciate how the lady took her time in cleaning, cutting, and shaping my toe nails. At the place I was going to before they were always so busy and rushing through everything. But here the massage was great and had good pressure I did not even miss having massage chair. Will definitely be returning. The only negative thing was the chairs are not adjustable so being 5 feet it was a little hard to reach my feet across the bowl but they gave me pillows.

The selection of colors for shellac are slim-pickings. Also, the colors are in the bottle still, so you can’t really tell what it will look like. The woman that did my nails took waaaayyyy too long. And they didn’t look any better or cleaner for the time it took. The salon is dirty. I don’t understand why they don’t take the time to clean the floors, and throw away the clutter that is in the corners and against the wall. Also, I am not even sure how clean they keep the tools they use for nails. The price is not bad, but I would not recommend this place.

This salon is nasty. A friend and I went here a few days before christmas for an impromptu girls day. Our usual place in Aptos was booked so we went to the Red Carpet. I have been here before and it was average then, but we were in a bind. It was very dirty, the staff was borderline rude and the pillow they used for my arms smelled like cat piss. Then I noticed two of the women working there had horrible sores on their mouths that looked like impetigo, a very contagious staph infection. Today, on Christmas morning, my friend informed me that she has a nasty staph infection on her finger originating from her cuticle! She had to go get antibiotics. I called the health department a few days ago and will be calling the Cosmetology board in the morning. BEWARE!

I have been getting pedicures at this nail salon for over a year now. I usually get #2, which includes a foot massage with hot stones. I like to get«diamonds» too; I enjoy flashing a little toe bling. All of the people that work here do a good job, though some ladies are especially good at massage and I am happy when they work on me. Every once in a while, I treat myself to #3 which includes a short hot stone table massage, and I have had good experiences with that. I am a massage therapist so I know a good massage. The reason I am writing this review is because I just received really outstanding service from this business. I had some of my «diamonds» break off shortly after my pedicure, and I returned the next day when they were closing, and they even had the light off but the door was still open. I offered to return another time, but they immediately turned the light back on and insisted they would fix it for me right then. They were so sweet about it and now my toes are pretty and perfectly bejeweled. Highly recommend this place.

Decent place, decent price. Nice, genuine people who work here. They care about each customer, whether it’s a $ 10 haircut of a $ 25 fullset

I was visiting Santa Cruz with my family. My mom needed a good manicure and I needed v a pedi. So we decided check out red carpet salon At first we were hesitant with the reviews about the place but we decided to give this place a chance. Money well spent.

I went to see Danny for years! I followed him all over Santa Cruz since 2004 or 2005 to the shop he has now Red Carpet Salon. I went there until one day when he told me it was to hard to do my nails and he could make more money in the two hours it took to do my nails with other clients. He told me this despite the fact that a normal acrylic fill is $ 18 and he charged me between $ 40-$ 50 and then I tipped him another $ 10. I really don’t think this was a money issue. He waited to tell me this until he was half way through doing my nails. He then proceeded to put and tip and acrylic overlay on a nail i had previously removed due to a fungus when I told him a told of 3 times it was not ok to put a nail on that one didgit!!! The nail had an odor of stinky shoes. What I came to realize the issue was that I had learned to do my own nails and went to him so I didnt have to do it myself and I enjoyed his company. Unfortunatly because while I was visiting I also critiqued the way he was doing my nails and corrected him he didnt like it. Which was something he mentioned when he told me he didnt want to do my nails anymore.

I came in to get a haircut during my visit to Santa Cruz. The owner was very nice and friendly. I always go with Mohawk but he recommended a different style that would look better on me. He insisted I try it and guaranteed it would look nice on me. He spent such a long time on just a man’s haircut, which kind of amazed me. I would recommend this place

One of the best salons out there in the bay! I can always count on them to give me great customer service and a great hair cut and color to go along with it. Even though I live in San Jose it is always worth the drive. Now just to try to get my friends to go along with me… Always great management and friendly owner.

Had an amazing pedicure with a manicure. Mary did my pedicure, outstanding job. I am very finicky regarding cleanliness after working in a sterile environment in healthcare. I had the deluxe pedicure which also came with a 15 minute neck and should massage with hot stones. Ti Ti did my manicure, the basic. Buffed my nails, amazing hand massage. Clean, friendly and courteous service. They have the most adorable stations for children. Will be bringing my granddaughters next time.
