We decided to stop by this Subway after doing some shopping at New Leaf. Wow! Trying to order two regular 6″ sandwich meals turned out to be really strange. First, we picked out some bread for the first sandwich and I commented on how fresh and lovely it looked. Now, I picked basic sourdough for the second, and the employee helping us pulled out a narrow and small end piece and proceeded to cut it so short on top that the blade came out before the end of the roll. I looked at it and wondered how it could support and sandwich materials, and I compared it with the nice sliced roll next to it. So, I asked the employee if it was too late to just have the same nice bread as the first roll. Communication in English was really difficult and she moved the sourdough to the right and said I have to keep it and use the other bread for a third sandwich. I like Subway sometimes, but not enough to want another sandwich! And why is a stunted roll of sourdough so valuable that I can’t go with something else after it has been cut? It’s not avocado, turkey, or some other more expensive ingredient. Well, the second employee there happened to walk up and I asked if he could help or find a manager. The manager wasn’t around, I was told, but he could take over. Okay! So I explained what happened and that I just wanted the same bread as the first sandwich. No problem, he indicated, and proceeded to pull out a full roll of sourdough and cut it in half! Huh? I wanted a small roll of the same bread that was used early. Can you please take all the sourdough back over to the break rack? Again, communication in English was proving very difficult. And the obvious negative energy and deathly silence from both employees was intense. I said something like, should I just pay for an extra sandwich that I don’t want? If we leave now, what will happen(doubt that would be a crime given that nothing that was said was clear or made much sense). So, I finally got the same bread and just ordered the same for both. Same sides as both(less onions on one). Same chips and drinks for both. Presented monthly 2-for-1 coupon, gave $ 15, and said, «Keep the change.» Mumble, mumble. Grab ice tea, and run out. The owners must not care and obviously haven’t done enough service training. Definitely not going there again. I’m reasonable, so if someone makes an effort to improve things and let’s me know, I’ll be willing to go try them out again a time or two and may even change my opinion of the place(and review as long as it’s warranted). For now, customers may want to cautiously try them out, or better yet, just drive a few blocks further and visit the subway on the other side of the highway!
