Parking during rush hours scares me something fierce. But overall this place is decent. It could usually use a spin/cleaning where the condiments/napkins are at(more often than not it is gross). Sometimes the app orders take longer than anticipated but that is a first world problem that is not too big of a deal.

Crew is great. They know your name and order when you walk in. Too bad its in the crappy mall though.

I’m surprised this location escaped being closed when SBX was downsizing a few years back. Depressing mall location, inexperienced manager, and employees who are there to socialize with each other. Customer service appeared to be an afterthought during my visit. I was not only denied a refill, but the employee didn’t even offer to sell me another beverage at full price. Take off the tie dude and help the customers.

Understaffed. Only 2 people working the 8 am shift… Really? One ringing up, one making the drinks. I just got my coffee and thought it felt light but didn’t look as I rushed out. I opened my drink and it was only 75% full.

I used to love this Starbucks because of the friendly staff, but recently I had a bad experience that left a bad taste in my mouth. I always order a Venti ice water with my Venti beverage. Because coffee is a diuretic, I believe that it is important to stay hydrated. And when I am paying $ 5 for a drink that costs 50 cents to make, I think I deserve some water. When I asked the cashier for my ice water(after ordering a Venti latte), she informed me that there was a «self serve» water station, with tiny paper cups. I asked if I could use one of the Venti cups, as I was in a hurry and wanted to take my water with me. She said that she could only give me a grande ice water, but not a Venti. Not wanting to make a stink and hold the line up, I accepted. I have NEVER been to another Starbucks that has been so cheap, that they wont give you the water that you ask for, in the cup that you ask for. I am all for saving water, and saving plastic, but the whole reason that I go to Starbucks is because of their(supposed) amazing customer service. Now it seems like they are«nickel and dime-ing» me. So from now on, I will go to one of the other Starbucks on 41st instead of this one, because of my love of H2O.

Convenient place to sit with iPad and work while my wife was shopping in the mall today! Very clean, separate restrooms which were also clean, great wifi, great, friendly service. My favorite drink isn’t complicated so ordering went easy. No exterior seating but plenty inside though its probably crazy during high shopping periods(I was here on a Saturday evening). If I lived in Capitola this would be my regular store.

I come here on average about once a day. The staff here is AWESOME– they make great coffee and offer awesome service. Also, the fact that they know my name and how to correctly spell it is always a plus! I usually get some form of a soy latte, so I love their suggestions for different kinds of drinks– they haven’t been wrong yet! This is a must go for caffeine fixes, studying, and great customer service!

I can’t fathom the bad reviews of this particular Starbucks. While writing my dissertation, I visited this store at least four times /week, sometimes more, for two years. And I was happy to. This location is less busy than the one by Ross, and most people take their drinks to go, so unless you happen to arrive at peak afternoon hours, you’re basically guaranteed a table and an outlet, which is great if you’re trying to work. Sometimes in the morning or afternoon, the line can get to be very long, but from the hours I’ve spent observing the line, it moves very quickly. The employees are lovely. I was regular, and I didn’t have a complicated order, so maybe that’s why we all got along, but I always found these partners to be friendly and efficient. Indeed, I got to know many of them, purely in a customer-service kind of way, and I definitely missed them when I left Santa Cruz.

So much better than the one a block away. It’s much cleaner, quieter, and best of all: you don’t see hobos walking in and out taking a shower in the bathroom or shaving their beards… yeah that’s what they do at the starbucks a block away near Ross and Togos. Perfect place to study. Right before closing, I asked for a refill of some ice in my Black Ice Tea Lemonade and the barista offered to just refill the tea and lemonade too! SWEEEET! He said they were going to throw it out anyway. Guess I’m going to be sticking around here before closing studying and coping out my free refill of black ice tea lemonade? hehe just kidding.

There’s a reason why I’m a regular here. I may be one of those who have those complicated drinks, but the baristas have come to know it by heart. My drink is always made just the way I like it by whoever makes it. The moment I walk in, I’m greeted instantly. Doesn’t matter if you’re a regular or someone completely new to the store, the baristas always seem to spark up a conversation, showing just how caring and friendly they can be. Also, what’s great about this place is it seems they actually care about the cleanliness of their store. Cleanliness makes great presentation and they’ve got it. All in all, this is a great store and I’ll always come back, no matter what!

Typical Starbucks inside. No outdoor seating and not on a corner(low natural light). Still no organic coffee :(

Have stopped here many times on my way in to work. Coffee is pretty much the same as every Starbucks. The staff I see in the early mornings are friendly & the line if there is one moves fairly quickly. The main reason I come to this location rather than the one on the corner of Clares is that this store is clean inside and the other one is NOT. Gross. One suggestion for the baristas — if you make a specialty drink with flavorings or syrup, don’t forget to give it a stir! Once you’re driving over the hill it’s too late for the customer to grab a stirstick and get the syrup off the bottom of the cup!

Typical of any Starbucks, they have the usual goodies and the quality is consistent. This translates to a lot of regulars. Early mornings are a busy time! Wi-Fi is there, and is free if you are already a member of ATTDSL. Otherwise it is not free. This Starbucks is in the Mall building There is another Starbucks on Mall Property at the corner of Clares St. and 40th Avenue. Be sure to specify which one if you are planning to meet someone here.
