Bad customer service! Please do not take phone orders if you make the customers to go in the waiting line any ways. That’s why people call ahead of time because do not have time to be waiting.

Amaaaaazing carnitas burritos! Skip the nachos, but get a burrito or a taco! The happy hour beers are priced well, and your food comes out quickly. Their salsa is like none other. I love this place. A lot.

We love our mexican food & thought we’d check this place out since it’s close by with decent reviews. Neither of us were impressed and will not return. The atmosphere is somewhat cute with the rustic wood, but that’s about it… The corn tortillas tasted like oil as did the chips. I ordered a shrimp taco, but the seasoning was so overwhelming that I couldn’t finish it. Husband got a carnitas burrito and said it was ok, nothing impressive. Won’t return.

I love this place. The people are so friendly and we are always greeted with a SMILE! that is a little hard to find lately in food service… The food is always good and the salsa stands on its own with deliciousness! NOONE has salsa as good as theirs!!!

Love this place for quick take-out. Call it in and it’s ready in 10. The owner is sweet, the food is consistently good and the prices are reasonable.

The lengua is my favorite. Not every place offers lengua. But once you try it here, I promise you WILLBEADDICTED. Be sure to slather on the salsa, it’s SOGOOD. The staff are top-notch. I used to go to the Water Street location, but once this opened, I have mainly been going here because the location is more convenient and the restaurant is bigger(so the lines are much, much shorter). Oh and the shredded cabbage is a NECESSITY.

The food quality is consistently good and you usually don’t have to wait long to get served. I forget that it’s cash only and then get mad at myself for having to use their ATM and incur those fees. Good prices, simple but fresh-tasting selection, and I haven’t had a bad experience with the food or staff.

Their carnitas were delicious and I love the way their tortillas come out toasty for burritos. Yum!

Sad. Just sad. Gave it an extra start because the chips were home made in the nachos but otherwise it was just really bad. I am starting to think there isn’t a single decent mexican food place in all of the santa cruz area =(

I was a bit put off by the cash only policy(this always makes me leery(no, not Timothy). Luck me my bank is right next door. My burrito arrived and I hid under the table as I thought a torpedo was headed my way! Huge! And it was a shrimp burrito. So I expected 14 lbs of rice and 3 shrimp. Nope! No rice, shrimp in every bite! What cost the 5th star is the potential hassle for those whose bank is not their neighbor, and the place, while clean, seemed a bit dingy(that’s dingy, not dingy, what’s wrong with our language anyway?)? Anyway. There it is. Good food and lots of it.

Love tacos morenos! Usually get the quesadillas which are actually like tacos, or the BBQ pork burrito. Soooo good! And the salsa in the squirt bottles is straight addicting. Good happy hour deals too! $ 2.75 for a pint! If that’s not a deal idk what is!

The food here is pretty solid but will not wow you, the salsa however will blow your mind with amazingness. It’s so good I buy a $ 6 container of it each time I’m headed home. Of all the meats I like the al pastor the best. The chicken is decent but a little watery. The carne asada is solid too. Truth be told I buy food here to eat the salsa and will regularly go through more than half a bottle each burrito because it’s the best salsa in the world IMHO.

Five stars for their salsa alone. This stuff is soo darn addicting I love it. Hands down one of the best burritos I have ever had. I was house sitting my friends place in Capitola and texted her asking where a good place to grab a bite to eat was. She recommended a few spots including Tacos Moreno and since I was already in the mood for Mexican food I decided to try it. I ordered an el pastor super burrito with everything in it, sooo good. The pork was slightly salty and had some delicious spicy/marinade flavor. I loved the tortillas they use too, they’re slightly crispy. And the salsa… I wish I had a whole bottle of it to keep in my fridge. My only complaint about this place is that they only accept cash. A real bummer considered the ATM they have inside wouldn’t accept my card so I had to go down the street to the bank. I don’t know why places insist on being cash only in this day and age, but hey what can you do.

Three stars for the food(which is delicious) but zero for the service. Just get it to go and don’t hope for a smile from the counter help: you won’t get it.

I liked this place. I’m new to Santa Cruz and saw it while driving by. The staff is really friendly and the food was excellent. I got a breakfast burrito that was amazing. My fiancé got the quesadilla and loved his as well.

* The menu is short and sweet leaving little room for the indecision usually associated with low blood sugar. *The food is fresh enough and clean, read: I have never gotten sick and I often order the shrimp burrito. * The service is fast, friendly, and efficient. * This location saves me from starving to death at least once a month. * I love this place.

The two stars are for the food. Zero stars for the service. First walked in the door and the place was empty. Not that way at there other location. Walked in and the girl at the counter was on her phone texting. We stood there for about three minutes until she finally noticed us. Put the damn phone down and do your job! I asked what was in the veggie tacos. She said, beans, cabbage, tomatoes and cheese(I did not get one shred of cheese in my tacos, liar) really rudely. She kept looking down at her top, more concerned with her boobs I guess. Ordered the carnitas reg burrito also. They charge extra for chips and salsa. Food came out quick and hot. I f-ing love the sauce in the squirt bottle on the tables, very addicting and you have to put it on each bite. You will, trust me. Got plain ol water to drink with the meal. In a water cooler thingy and it wasn’t cool at all. Not even room temp. It was really, really warm. They offer no ice. Should have brought a teabag with me. After we ate our meal and were ready to leave, a worker came in and headed for the kitchen with his damn finger up his nose. I think digging for a pinto bean. WOW! Yuk. The girl at the counter is a Kim Kardshian wanna-be. Will never go back.

The best freshly fried tortilla chips I’ve ever tasted along with fire roasted salsa!!! Home made makes the difference. I had their quesadilla with a fish filet inside, along with their cabbage onions cilantro & tomatoes. So good! Their refried beans were drfinetly the best I’ve had and would love so more thanks!!!
