Last Saturday(June 25) we picked up food for my 60th bday bash. We had about 30 people at my house and everyone without exception loved the food from Little Tampico. We served beef and chicken enchiladas and tacos. The meal came with rice, refried beans, salsa, hot sauce, salad and chips. Have been taking friends and family to Little Tampico since the 80s’ and we keep coming back for more great Mexican food!

I use to go all the time, service was awesome, drinks and food were good, and now… it’s not even worth it. Last time I ordered a Mollies and the bartender asked if I liked cucumber, etc, gave me a drink, yeah it was good, but found out the drink was $ 18 for ONE drink. Seemed shady to upsell and not even disclose the price increase? NOTHANKS!!!

Used to work next door. Watched as can after can of processed food gets rolled out the back of a truck and Into the kitchen. I highly doubt they use anything fresh, including the meat. The couple times I have had to eat here it was terrible. Started with Carne asada that had a distinct teriyaki taste, wtf? Tostada was stale chips with lettuce and beans on top. Do yourself a favor and avoid restaurants like this. We don’t deserve to be overcharged for canned food.

Food is so-so. If you would like a good margarita, don’t order a pitcher from the female bartender. She would rather chat with her co-workers and argue with customers then correct a problem.

Ordered dinner last night for my family. The meat for the dinner tasted sour and the $ 10.00 guacamole was just smashed up avocado. I called to confirm how they made this? Supposedly its made with seasoning. So, for $ 10.00, I can make this much better. There was nothing in it, no seasoning, no onion, nothing.

All of the other low reviews are correct. The food is bland and flavorless. It is a shame because the restaurant is pretty cool. Expensive and terrible at the same time. $ 100 for 2 adults &2 kids. I would have rather saved $ 80 and had Taco Bell. It is hard to screw up Mexican food. But somehow they did.

We always have a great meal here and tonight is no different. We got here late and they still let us in and order. Food was still very yummy!

Bummed to see the low ratings. I’ve eaten here for over four years. Our personal favorites? Crab enchiladas, eggplant enchiladas, Otila’s plate, chicken chimichanga, and carne asada tacos! The House Margarita is good too! The servers and bussers are phenomenal and very attentive. We’ve never had a bad experience. We go about once every month or two. I would agree the food has changed but it’s still good.

UPDATE: I’m sorry but I have to downgrade my rating to 2 stars. I have been going here for many years. The hostess and wait staff were great but the meat in the tacos had been changed. Their taco’s used to be unique and no other restaurant had the same flavor. They increased the price of the meal and changed the meat. The meat literally had –0– flavor. I’m really disappointed. I always order the same thing and now my favorite is ruined. The Molly’s Margarita was still excellent but I’m afraid this will be my last visit until the Tacos are back to their former glory. I hope the owners read this and make a change.

Keep them honest folks! At a birthday lunch for my daughter we ordered a «½ liter» of sangria. It cam in a carafe CLEARLY marked«½ litter» however it was filled with ice. I have never been served sangria over ice so I asked her to remove the ice. She brought it back 1⁄3 full and said that is how much we will give you. I said Your menu says«½ liter» and I showed her the menu and the marked carafe. She said I’m sorry that’s all I can do. Good thing it’s not a gas station or my tank would only be 1⁄3 full!!! Make sure you get the full amount you pay for! Won’t go back.

Seemed like pretty much canned and old food. The Salsa picante was a pale red color and honestly I think it was just canned enchilada sauce The salsa fresca tasted old and on the edge. Chips were great. No chile rojo, no chili verde, yet my friend ordered a verde enchilada that came with green sauce. no doubt canned green sauce. This used to be a pretty good place even if it was always an Amercain –style of mexican food. I guess it just hasn’t kept pace with the real mexican establishments.

The refried beans and chicken were really good. The rest was mediocre. The mango margarita tasted like fake pine sol. Not real pine sol, fake. The quesadilla had guac, lettuce, tomato, olives and cheese INSIDE. Which sounds like a brilliant idea– Taco Bell does it in a crunch wrap– but here instead of having hot melted cheese and cold guac, both turned each other luke warm. It was unpleasant, but at $ 6, I guess I can’t complain because it’s food. Uninspiring, if the drinks had been better I would come back for drinks and nachos– but I probably won’t.

This is my first Unilocal review after years of reading, I am inspired to write after one of our family favorites is going south. Long time chef who might have been the back bone of this place left a month or so ago and this place is a HOTMESS! Bring him back! Seems like the kitchen can’t handle what they used to — speed or quality. Was that Costco guacamole? The whole experience was sad and the poor staff are clearly doing their best to make it okay(apologizing and bringing chips over and over). Now we have had two bad experiences. Seriously, they should have been paying us to sit there for over an hour with hungry kids in an empty restaurant to get okay food. We will be taking a break and trying again in a month or so. Will be sad if they can’t figure it out.

Oi — Not a good experience. Start off with — Our busser was awesome, he was refilling our drinks, and very polite. The chips and ice tea are good. Not so good — Our waitress who was the only one working and seemed flustered. My Tampico Nachos that had non-fresh refried beans, but the menu says black beans. Not getting a happy hour deal because it was Labor day. Finding a BUG in my nachos. Everyone including ourselves had to wait a bit to be seated and get their food, the people who walked in after us sat down 5 minutes after us. Feeling a little queezy now :(

I have a difficult time giving a 1 star review– I’m a business owner, and so when I review another business I want to be thoughtful about it. I’m not sure how thoughtful I can be after yesterday’s meal. But the experience wasn’t the worst ever, so they get 2 stars. I did enjoy food here, in the way back past, like over 10 years ago. Perhaps my palate shifted as I was exposed to really great Mexican food. This is not Mexican food. Not by a long shot. It’s like middle America’s idea of Mexican food, which is not Mexican food… I haven’t had food that was this tasteless in a long time. It’s quite possible that if we’d had margaritas with the meal, we wouldn’t even have noticed… but we were driving so that was not an option. The rice, literally, no flavor. It looked amazing. The beans, reheated yes… covered with cheese, yes… flavor? nope. The chunky salsa tasted like it was leftover from Saturday. The enchilada was super plain. The chile verde was in a bowl. A bowl. It did have flavor though. The awning cover over the patio seating area has seen better days. Don’t look up. Eeeeeeeek. The best thing about the entire experience was the sweet guy refilling our waters and chips. Oh, and we ran into a friend at the bar on the way to the restrooms. So there was that.

If want real mexican food don’t go here. The food took 45 minutes for a burrito and got my order wrong.

30 minutes for a to go order and not worth waiting for canned food. I expected authentic Mexican food. My brother waited more than 30 minutes for his order only to get home and his chile verde burrito is a beef burrito.

Such a rude staff I didn’t even get to try their food. No wonder why they have such low stars. Btw I just left the restaurant so I hope you remember me.
