The doctor I saw at the Carbondale office was nice, but the staff were super rude and not helpful at all. The girl at the registry was acting like people all owned her a million dollars, she was basically yelling at patients. The cashier at the glasses counter could not even answer one question about their rebates, acting like she couldn’t wait for you to get out of there. She also gave me a wrong rebate voucher! I really regret going to this place, they charge such high fees for these kind of bad treatment to patients.

I had to find an eye doctor so I could get a new script for contacts. My insurance did not take my old doc. I went to Marion eye center and was not happy with the staff or how they treat customers. Maybe because they have so many doctors, they were not very friendly. It took two days for them to call back for checking to see if they were in. My husband went to see about them on a Sat, and they were too busy with a patient. They are closed on Sat but happen to be in the office. I was told I would get a rebate form with the contacts. No, not in the box, which seemed as they were just thrown in and mailed. Really? When I called and asked for a receipt for the rebate she told me it would be in the box. Could she not send the form with the receipt? I’ll never go back to such a mis managed group!

Dr. Fix is hands down the best Optometrist I have ever had! I have severe astigmatism and terrible eye sight since early childhood. When I was 18 I wanted to get contacts and ditch my bulky glasses. I first saw a younger and more inexperienced doctor at this location who went through three pairs of trials for me, none of which produced an use-able set of contact lens(blurry 80% of the times and can’t see close or far). I was then referred to a second doctor who was supposed to have more experience but it was easy to see that he really just didn’t care. Then I was referred yet again to Dr. Fix. For the next 5 months I have tried on possibly 6 – 8 pairs of lens. Dr. Fix was very patient during this period. He performed careful check ups for every visit and truly took his time to observe the movement of the lens in my eyes with each blink. At the end of this long period of trials I finally found a brand of contacts that worked with my eyes. I have since then moved away from Carbondale and went to several other optometrists for my contact fitting and prescription needs. I realized that none of these other doctors cared enough to take the time to help me find lens that fit my unique condition. I applaud Dr. Fix for his professionalism and empathy in a profession that is often IMO full of irresponsible people in white coats pretending to help people.
