The prices were not comparable to what you got. $ 10 for 2 small stuffed mushrooms? 6 very small pieces of asparagus. Our waitress was very nice, and the only reason it didn’t get a 1, but she needs to know the drink menu a lot better. My steak that I ordered medium came out burned in the outside and barely red on the inside.

The prices are fair but the food is somewhat bland in my opinion. The portions are very generous and you definitely won’t leave hungry. However, I found their potato skins simply not very good. Maybe it was the nacho cheese but I also found my chicken very flavorless. The girlfriend enjoyed the steak but I personally found it unfortunate that I enjoyed my side of homefries mord than my entre. Good service though. Simply three stars for lack of flavors present in food

So. I give this 3 stars because it’s kind of in the middle. For me, the food was good. Not spectacular. Not great, but good. We had burgers, fish sandwich, that sort of thing. Beer was good. I’m not sure what I was expecting, but given that I think this is an offshoot of the Carriage House in Newville where I think people get married and have parties and such, I think I definitely expected a little more class. Now, I’m not judging, I’ll eat just about anywhere, every time. But I have to tell you, the one thing that will stop me in my tracks is the smell of smoke. Unfortunately, the minute you walk into this place, you can smell the vestige of the bar it once was. Or is. As I drive past it to go home, it’s been what looks like a halfway house, a motel, and always a bar attached to it. A few years ago, the bar turned into a more formal restaurant(all this I’m noting from the car) and we’ve always said we wanted to try it. So we finally did and there’s just no way you can scrub years of smoke from the building. And that’s not someplace I like to eat. So, food — good, service — friendly, atmosphere — upgraded from a bar… but there’s no way you’re ever going to NOT feel like you’re eating in a bar(with your kids) when it smells the way it does. We most likely won’t go again.

This is an upgrade of the dive it was. But still not a fine dining establishment. It has an ambitious menu but it doesn’t quite deliver. It has four star prices with two star food

If you want GREAT crab cakes, the Carriage House is the place to go. It was our first visit and we will be going back. My husband had their Prime Rib and said it was good, we started off with the crab dip as an appetizer and it was wonderful. I ordered the crab cakes, they are not huge but very little filler if any and big lumps of crab. I got a greek salad and it came with the feta cheese and olives, another plus. The only negative thing I can say is the side of red roasted potatoes was very small.

If you want steak, this is the place to go. Don’t let the outside confuse you about the food. Never judge a book by its cover. The grilled onions were so good that my whole table could not stop talking about them. Quality restaurant with friendly waitresses.

WOW! Again Wow! The best prime rib and filet mignon… ever! The place is old and has the old bar smell but don’t let that put you off, every single piece of food was amazing. It’s difficult to get a med rare piece of meat nowadays but this place got it right. The prime rib was the softest piece of meat, no knife needed. The waitress was new but the service was awesome, thanks Heidi. The musician was brilliant and flawless diner music. Just moved to Mount Holly and it will be very tough for anyone else in town or surrounding area to beat this place.

Being adventurous… we gave this small tavern a try. Excellent food and service! Don’t be fooled by the exterior tavern look and previous reputation. Seafood combo was ex

So after hearing about this place from a friend of mine, my wife and I decided to try it. I’m very happy we did. I had the prime rib, which was amazing, and cooked perfectly. We split an order of wings, which were also very good. The service was top notch, and the atmosphere very comforting. All around excellence

Omg, the prime rib. Best ever. The owner, John, is super nice too. Beer was very good, troegs. Jacketed baked potatoes, chargrilled meat. Nice atmosphere, even saw some friends there. Best place in Carlisle, and I have lived here for many years.

I enjoy my visits to the carriage house. John, the owner, is welcoming. The food is great. He’s really working on making this a great place to be and visit. I go here for wings, burgers, steak, or just to grab a beer. Fridays are usually karaōke. Sunday he’s brought in a paint and sip venue. It’s not the rowdy place of the past.
