Great place in Carlisle for some good ice cream on a hot summer day. Very Cheap prices but very good ice cream. You can get a LARGE milkshake for less than $ 5.00!!! A must go if you visit Carlisle.

Pretty good. There is not enough room in the indoor ordering area and getting out with a big ice cream cone can be a challenge. Workers range from indifferent to kinda friendly. Good custard.

Been having ice cream at Massey’s for more than 20 years. And it’s always an amazing experience. I make sure to stop by when ever I visit Carlisle

Love the frozen custard but have yet to be served by someone at Massey’s who actually smiles or seems happy that I’m there. While that may seem like a small detail, it matters. But grumpiness aside, the frozen delicacies are worth it.

I always crave Massey’s Arctic Mounts around spring and summer! It’s by far one of the better ice cream places in Carlisle — plus the tables outside make it a fun place to hangout on a nice afternoon.

Well it’s odd to see an old fashioned ice cream stand be Number 1 in a small town with127 eateries but Massey’s has some great ice cream and many yummy flavors to choose from for a very low price. Best of all it has easy parking, and is directly across the street from Dickinson college so it is also easy to find. We had two wonderful waffle cones filled with fresh fruit ice cream — not the custard. There were some interesting flavors on the board on Sunday so we chose — Raspberry and Blackberry Crumble. I had one scoop in an unbelievably fresh waffle cone. My husband had two dips, one each of the two mentioned flavors. The total cost was under $ 6 for two cones with three dips of fresh ice cream. I ate the raspberry and found it very refreshing, however it did not have a deep raspberry flavor. By the time I was finishing the last bite it tasted cold and sweet but not like raspberry. My husband said he liked his flavors and the price was right. It is definitely not commercial tasting and does not leave a gummy taste in the mouth. As for being the best ice cream or the best food service in Carlisle I would argue with that. I have had better ice cream(Vancouver has the best) elsewhere. However, it was a tasty treat after walking around for two hours at the Carlisle Barrack’s Army Museum and spending time in the WW l trench which is not to be missed if you are into history.

I’m not even close to an expert on ice cream, but I think this is the best that Carlisle has to offer. They have been around for as long as I can remember, and always(rainy days included) have a line out the very small entry. They are efficient though and the line always moves quickly. Everything that I have had here has been delicious. And I love that they offer kid size cones and baby sundaes for those who want a treat but don’t want to have to roll out! They have the soft serve that is a favorite of my husband and son, and also have interesting flavors of the hand dipped variety. There are a lot of options for ice cream in Carlisle, but this one is always a great choice.

Meh. The vanilla used for the custard base is kind of flavorless. The fudge in the custard was good, but not enough to save the cone from taking a premature detour to a nearby trash can.

Used to love this place because the custard was not too sweet. Now it can be over the top sweet depending on flavor. Not lovin it anymore.

Under new ownership one new item I am happy about is gluten free ice cream cones! mt friends son can’t have gluten told her and she brought her son the whole way from New Cumberland to get him an ice cream cone. Loved it.

They have been in business since 1949 and I can see why. Delicious custard and great variety. Stopping by here makes for a perfect summer evening hanging with friends and ordering delicious cups of frozen custard for a treat.

Classic Carlisle ice cream at its best. My grandfather came here with my father and my father took me, maybe someday I will take my children here! Although it will be on a vacation to visit their family :)!

Best frozen custard anywhere. My favorite is chocolate dipped in chocolate in a pretzel cone. .or maybe their fresh strawberry and raspberry sundaes… or maybe their teaberry milkshakes… ok maybe you get my point. Prices are good. The building is an icon. In the summers, lines go outside. It’s cramped, but eh… it’s Massey’s!

I wish I could come all the way back from Hawaii just for a vanilla cone with the chocolate dip. I miss pretty much everything about the whole Massey’s experience. the way it smells inside, the flavors they have and those crappy picnic tables outside. Someday… I’ll acquire another Massey’s cone-o-joy.

If youve lived in Carlisle longer than a few years — youll know that Masseys is the place to go for all things ice cream. Sure theres a fancy new corporate Brusters in town — but it doesnt compare to the hometown ice cream and goods that Masseys serves up. Ive lived in this town all my life and Masseys has stood the test of time. Its a small walk in –order — walk right out kind of joint and is located right in the heart of the college, so expect a line and a bit of a wait. But its worth it.
