Finally, after 3(almost 4) years in Carlisle, I have found my restaurant ! The people are friendly, the food is AWESOME, and everything is reasonably priced. We have been there 3 times — breakfast was amazing with the Eggs Benedict, lunch was probably the best because of this appetizer — something like homemade chips covered in crab meat and some sort of incredible sauce —(it has been a while, I am not doing it justice, sorry. Just order it — you’ll see) Our son was home from college over Christmas so we took him there for dinner — even he was impressed and he has a lot of really good restaurants near school. I am always too full to order dessert — but everything looks heavenly as it gets delivered to other people — I think we will have to go there just for that tonight. Thank You Momma Spriggs — don’t ever change!

Breakfast was excellent. Great comfort food. I enjoyed the Crazy Eggs dish, a side of ham and white toast. Food arrived at our table very quickly. Service was friendly and professional. Price was reasonable.

Momma Spriggs is a solid American diner-esque restaurant on York Road in Carlisle, Pa. It feels comfortable with plenty of booths and a small counter with spinners for solo customers like me, who prefer to take less space and to chat with the servers as they deliver the plates and refill the coffee. The menu offers a broad range of creative options, and demonstrate that management is very thoughtful about what they provide, and want to engage with their people. After dropping off my son after his Christmas Week visit, I scouted around on Unilocal for a place to grab a late breakfast before heading back east. Momma Spriggs was about 10 minutes away from the usual Rt. 11 sprawl, but I found it easily. I was greeted warmly and offered my choice of seating. The counter was completely open and I slid onto one of the high backed stools. «Crazy Eggs,» caught my eye — a mix of Eggs, Red Potato Home Fries, Onions and Green Peppers all thrown together in the pan, and served with thick sliced toasted Marble Rye. The dish was tasty and fun to eat. The eggs were moist and the veggies all sautéed/grilled to the optimum. Along with the refreshed java brew, the meal was just what the doctor ordered. I hit the road about 40 minutes later with a contented belly and a clear head. Ms. Spriggs knows a thing or two about the first meal of the day. Definitely worth the effort to find her if looking for something better than the fast food alternatives available right off the pike.

I don’t see a lot of reviews on here, I’m thinking it’s because people know it’s good and just go! Been once for breakfast and a million times for dinner. Never disappointed. They always have new and tasty specials. Very friendly too. I went for breakfast on my birthday and the waitress really catered to me, kept my coffee flowing. Love this place!

Always good service, always good food. I’ve not had lunch or dinner there but have been in multiple times for breakfast and always a good choice! Service is always very good and they keep the coffee cups full. If you’re in the area, definitely recommend stopping by!

First time here and I have to say, very great service and delicious food. Had the garden omelette and the rest of my party also ordered breakfast. It came out within minutes with our server always attentive to our needs. A must visit if you are in the area! Try their pumpkin pancakes: D

My brother & I come to Carlisle for the Ford Nationals every year & eat every dinner & breakfast @ Mommas, delicious food, wonderful waitstaff. Friday fish fry & hamburgers are great. Buffalo chicken dip & humus dip good beyond description.

Stopped on our way home from the midwest. Had June as our server… she was amazing! So sweet and efficient. We had the 10 for $ 10 specials that are offered between 3 – 5 on Tuesday — Thursday. I had the Chicken Cordon Bleu. The chicken was a slight bit overcooked, but the mashed potatoes and gravy were delicious. Our party also had the haddock(very tasty), lasagna(yummy), and spinach salad(dressing was a bit sweet). All in all, it was a good meal with great service!

Disappointed in food all together. Another restaurant supporting Sisco Foods… they don’t even make their own salad dressings(except one) according to my waitress. I ordered a sandwich with a specialty cheese in it that turned out to be a processed cheese flavored like brie — really? Service was great but I won’t be going back. I don’t want to support Sisco — I want to support house made, fresh, yummy. The restaurant was full of about 70% senior citizens which seemed to be regulars — so that is a great thing :)

Try Sunday brunch here and enjoy a fantastic variety of fresh baked goods. Or try one of three different kinds of eggs Benedict I recommend the seafood lovers-its very good! Substitutions are never an issue and the Nutella stuffed French toast provides precious silence from your kids when you order it!

My wife and I go here quite a bit, it is one of our favorite restaurants in carlisle. Been here for breakfast and dinner, both have been very good. Love the house dressing, it is a very unique Apple cider vinaigrette. Prices are pretty reasonable as well, most of the dinners are under $ 20 and breakfast is under $ 10

So disappointing. I called my order in for pick up since me and my hubby are sick. Once I got home with our food I noticed my strawberries and cream French toast did not have strawberries and whip cream on top like its suppose to. I ordered this because I wanted the strawberries. Next while eating I got a sharp pain in my mouth which turns out to be a piece of sharp wood or toothpick that was in my food. This was our first time trying this place and was totally disappointed. Probably won’t be back.

Stopped in for lunch today and was very pleased… as I walked in I was lured to the display case showing some great looking deserts and was greeted by a extremely nice hostess. The lunch menu consisted of a few appetizers with a wide variety of salads, burger, wraps, flatbreads and sandwiches. All of these items were listed at a very reasonable price. Our group started out with the crab chips, which consisted of homemade chips, cheese and of course crab meat. The chips were super crunchy, and the cheese was melted perfected with pretty of crab meat to go around. I ordered a ranch flatbread, while the others in my group ordered turkey clubs, chicken tenders and some grilled cheeses(for the kidos). Everything looked and smelled good… and the portions were good sized. I finished up with some tiramisu, which was very good. As far as the restaurant, there was plenty of parking. The inside had a modern feel with a touch of local diner. The staff was super friendly. Overall I was very happy with decision to stop in for lunch and I look forward to stopping for breakfast and dinner in the near future.

Was here on New Year’s Eve with family and friends a party of six. Charming little place in Carlisle on Old York Rd. This décor is mostly booths yet this place is trying to make it’s own personality shine through and distinguish itself from the previous owners by serving a higher level of cuisine. Anyone that truly know’s me knows I am going to be the one to try something different when we go out so of Course i found the GRANDMARNIERDUCKBREAST Pan seared duck breast accompanied by orange infused wild rice with cranberries. Accompanied by a dinner salad… This is a truly must try if you get the opportunity to do so. great flavor and the skin was cooked crispy but not burnt or tough. The rice and had a delicate flavor of orange and didn’t over burden the dinner or take away from the flavor of the Duck. Two In our party had HADDOCK Broiled or fried wild caught traditional haddock filet. Served with choice of two sides. My Sister had CRABCAKES Signature blend of crabmeat and seasonings make these«Maryland style» crabcakes melt in your mouth! Broiled to perfection. Served with your choice of two sides Her Husband enjoyed BEEF TIPSTender sirloin beef tips sautéed with mushrooms & onions. Accompanied by Yukon gold mashed potatoes. My Nephew’s Choice was Chicken Parmasean and a healthy serving of Penne. I must say that the Portions for all our meals were a health serving and I do recommend that you try this quaint little restaurant if your in Carlisle. Service was extrordinary. Only Fault but not really BYOB so check out their menu on line and Bring a bottle or two to have with your meal.

Meh. Ravioli stuffed with ricotta cheese & summer squash and sage infused sauce was really Ravioli stuffed with a tiny bit of winter squash with some sage butter on it. Also a mound of winter squash as a side. Why are they saying it’s summer squash? The homemade blue cheese dressing was mayo and a tiny bit of BC. The apple chicken salad was tedious. Tons of iceberg lettuce. Ho Hum. Four pieces of almonds and 4 crumbles of blue cheese. If this was DC it would be a D+. I guess for Carlisle it might be considered a B. Best to cook at home/hotel room… Or stick with Bob Evans. Yah. I did say that.

Delicious spot to stop for lunch on my way up I-81, that I found thanks Unilocal. After seeing the cakes when I walked, I convinced myself to get a salad for my meal to save room. The salad was really great(apple cider chicken), though the Thatta burger sounded amazing(topped with fried pickles and bacon?! What?!). So the cake was delicious. Period. I got the carrot cake and my friend got the chocolate cake with peanut butter icing. Seriously amazing. The service was good and the restaurant was nice and clean. I would definitely go back or recommend to those traveling in or through the area.
