Great food. Organic, simple and good for the soul. We stumbled on to this place. We were looking for a breakfast place around Carlsbad. We had kids with us and couldn’t afford an overwhelming long wait. We had their breakfast sandwiches. They were delicious, filling and just a tad different(which we like). The owner chatted with us and made us feel at home. Kids were free to roam and relax. Coffee was great. Locals will probably hate because I’m giving away how great this place is Definately a place to go back to

What a cute spot! Hidden gem in San Diego. We stumbled upon this place when our original idea was too packed. Service was super friendly and fast. Hospitality was on point. Pesto sauce was spectacular. They also advertised live bands and fire pits outside! Looks like a great hang out spot with an inviting open patio, plants, wind mills etc. very happy we ended up here for our breakfast!

Wow!!! Stubbled upon this little gem while antique shopping with my husband and really glad we did!!! Cute atmosphere great beer, good espresso and nice menu selection. We split a pastrami and swiss panning, SO good!!! Nice amount of meat and the mustard and onions worked really well together. Will definitely return!

Food — Average, nothing extraordinary. Panini come with a side of bagged chips and a pickle. Takes forever to have your food, even a coffee! In fairness, there was only one guy taking care of all customers. But still, that’s not an excuse. Drinks — Liked that they have different types of beers, wines and smoothies. Atmosphere — Hippie-Hipster hybrid. Live music some nights, maybe too loud if you sit close to the singer… you cannot talk with your partner comfortable. Chairs not comfortable and look cheap. Liked that the place is pet friendly. Price — Panino with pickle and bag of chips around 10 dollars. Felt a little high for the type of place and service. I would recommend this place only for a drink in a hot day with your dog. Other wise, don’t bother.

Located just off of the center of Carlsbad village. We just stopped here for the outdoor seating since they are dog friendly. The atmosphere is laid back and friendly as soon as you walk in. Our food was fresh and yummy. Overall, we had a good experience. However, we had an issue with the prices. For two people to eat here was $ 33. Keep in mind, you go up to a counter, order your food, pay, then take a number. We wouldn’t have minded the prices so much if the amount of food compensated for that. My salad was $ 10 and the size of a side salad that would come to with the rest of your meal at any given restaurant. It was delicious, but I feel as if I paid for more food. Maybe they should give you complimentary bread or toast at least with it. My iced chai was delicious but also a bit overpriced as well.

Already a new hang out! With Café Topes always packed to the rafters, Café Panini is just what you might be looking for! Located along Oak Ave and State St, Café Panini has a outdoor seating area with water feature, outdoor lighting and group style seating. Inside you have booth style seating and high tops. Kids toy chest is in the back with plenty of distractions for the little monsters. High chairs are also available. Local artists have paintings, photographs etc for sale which is cool touch. When coming in, just head up to the counter and order away. The food is fresh and the coffee is well worth a trip. You also have the ability to order to go! Also bring your dogs, a small section is dedicated to them with water bowls and fake grass. Café Panini is worth a visit, the staff is friendly and the atmosphere is great! My only concern is they can be a little understaffed sometimes. Overall Food: 4 – 5 Drink: 4 – 5 Service: 3 – 5 Coming back: Yes

Incredible. Incredible beer selection, amazing ambience, all-time service and the meatloaf panini is really something special. I usually do not slow down to enjoy my food, I did for the this special panini. The flavors, are an explosion of ecstasy covering your palate. I am adopting this place as my regular pre-class fuel location. Also, the music is genuine mountain tunes that cure the soul of any blues.

Nifty spot, tasty paninis, nice bottled beer selection. A little disturbing that it’s right next door to an auto mechanic(I thought there were zoning regulations pertaining to that) And, a wee bit expensive,…I thought for $ 10 my sandwich would come with something a lil more gourmet than a bag of Lays. :-/

Had to find some good food. Pulled off the highway on the way to LA and saw this place on Unilocal. BEST decision we made. Super sweet spot away from the road with welcoming people. Love the space, with the open design and nice front courtyard with palm trees. The rock fountain is soothing to listen to. I’m sure the fire pit would make for a nice evening after a day at the beach too. For sure will make this a spot to swing off to next week and the week after and again and again!!!

Swung by for a late lunch and we had a great time! I had the mushroom panini and it was absolutely delicious, I cannot say enough. The spot itself is very relaxed, low-key, with a roll-up garage door and lots of seating, both indoors and out. A very happy bonus was when my 1 ½ year old discovered a giant tub of toys. He is usually a bit of a nightmare to take out to eat, but he had a blast, too! And as if that weren’t enough, there is a very large selection of craft beer AND coffee/expresso. I can’t wait to come over when there is live music! It’s rare that I give 5 stars, but this place is my new spot! I will be a new regular.

I like this place. The owner is a very friendly guy, always polite and attentive. He will refill my teapot with hot water time and time again and doesn’t look at me like I’ve overstayed my welcome after I’ve been there for more than several hours. I love the atmosphere, too. I especially love the outdoor seating during daytime when it’s sunny. The only thing I don’t like is that I often go to cafes in the evening, usually for my book club, and most of those days coincide with the live music and then we feel rude talking over the singer but have to because the reason we met up is to talk. I’m not sure if they have a predictable schedule when it comes to performances and I’m the one who just happens to show up on the wrong day, but I wish there was a door or something to block the inside from the outside. Otherwise, everything is perfect. Lots of variety when it comes to food and drink options, and I love the fact that they have kombucha from Living Tea. Don’t forget to check out the antique/garden shop across the street before you leave!

Hidden gem just off the beaten chaos of DT Carlsbad. I’ve come here for both a quiet lunch with moi as well as to introduce my 14-year old stepson to his first ever panini. The food is absolutely delicious: fresh ingredients, solid combinations, and obviously made with much love. The service is outstanding and very welcoming and the patio is not to be missed especially on a beautiful sunny SoCal day. I’ve recommended to many locals who had never been as well as those visiting from out of town.

I stumbled into a lovely sunday brunch! Sunday megamosa, pastrami and Swiss pannini, live music. Not only are they dog friendly they encourage you to bring mans best friend. We walked in with our pup and they immediately acknowledged her and gave her a treat. There were 2 other dogs and the patio which had a very friendly feel. My boyfriend ordered a turkey provolone sandwich which was average and everything comes with Lays potato chips. The little bags of chips cheapened it for me but overall a good experience.

A great, fun and relaxed place to have breakfast. Animal friendly, fun staff. Sandwiches are great, and the staff seems to know exactly how to fine tune them towards your likes. It’s quirky, off beat and just enough off kilter that it actually has personality. Slightly off the beaten path, but there’s better parking, actually has bike parking and over all. Just a fun place to be.

Café Panini has been very kind to me and my pup. Good coffee, a selection of great beers, and excellent paninis — favorite is pastrami and Swiss — make me happy. Cold bowls of water, doting staff and customers, and dog biscuits make my 6-mo-old pup happy. Even though the place is new, the property and décor are a happy mishmash, and big patio with fountain seal the deal.

CAFEPANINI made a much better second impression. stopped by on a friday night to hear a FACEBOOK friend of my wife’s make music. she was pretty good. dinner was even better. took a really long time(at the counter) to order and even longer for the food to arrive. but this was not a frantic lunch it was a casual dinner and we weren’t completely starving so it wasn’t all that tragic. the kids had HAM and SWISS(WYATT’s on toasted sourdough and JULIANA a panini). hers was a hit. he turned out to be not much of a swiss cheese fan. JODI’s CAPRESE panini(tomatoes, mozzarella and basil pesto) was very good and my ENTOURAGE(spinach, tomatoes, red onions, avocados and hummus on toasted sourdough) really hit the spot — great flavors and textures. enjoyed the music. enjoyed the food. glad we gave this place a second chance.

Just discovered this place after looking down the street from café topes the last time we are there. I am so glad I gave this a try! The café is so so adorable, it is decorated sort of yellow deli-ish/Vinaka but this place is big, open, and dog & alcohol friendly :) The girl that took our order at the register seemed to still be figuring things out and took a little while to enter our orders in but she was sweet and polite. I ordered«The Entourage» it was described as a vegetarian«cold sandwich» full with hummus, aioli, cucumber, tomato, red onion, and spinach($ 6.95). My boyfriend ordered the grilled cheese(and he asked for sundried tomatoes inside and that was approved) and tomato soup(7.95?).In the fridge behind the register, there are TONS of craft beers! So awesome, it’s hard to find a little café that serves beer, better yet: craft beer. Our food came out pretty promptly and it was SOGOOD. I absolutely loved«the entourage» sandwich and my boyfriend devoured his grilled cheese panini. I do wish though, that my sandwich was served with fries but they were potato chips which is fine too. Can’t wait to come back and try more and come for the live music :)
