Great venue and live music! Was visiting my best friend who lives in North County, and had coffee at a shop upstairs. The music sounded awesome so we made our way downstairs. I’ll definitely be back!

ok food, lots of tourists and kinda high prices. Its terrific here for entertainment and outdoor evenings on the patio, but for a normal lunch I’d skip it. Really surprised me that they charged me $ 2.75 for soda water — not the fancy stuff, just the tap from the bar.

Nice place and on the average side. Nice décor, OK service and while the menu looks exciting, it’s not. Just average.

Coyote Bar & Grill is located in the same plaza as Mazen@106 and Vinaka Café. They have an outdoor patio that features live music on certain days of the week. We decided to sit indoors that day. The complimentary chips are served warm and were delicious. We ordered: Grilled Artichoke with Remoulade Dipping Sauce: — The artichoke was halved and served grilled. I’m not sure if the artichoke was grilled too long as most of the leaves tasted dry Crispy Asparagus: — The batter was too thick and bread-y. A lot of the batter was crumbling off the asparagus. Cajun Chicken Penne Pasta: — Friend ordered this and liked it. The pasta was cooked nicely and the sauce was wonderfully creamy. He thought there could have been more chicken though. Service was slow even though the restaurant wasn’t busy. The bar seemed to be popular to have cold drinks and watch a sports game. I might try out their happy hour if I was back in the area.

James is the shizzle. Amazing drinks, fast service, and awesome personality. The best in Carlsbad! I’m on a blind date with a guy also named James and he is super hot and nice. I’m on a blind date and it’s going great so far because he is hotter than his pics lol

Sort of a standard stop on the«village crawl». Usually a good rotation of beers, margaritas are pretty good, so is the food. But the best part is the people watching on the patio, getting down to the nightly band. When in Carlsbad, you gotta stop here at least once.

If you like to hear live music this is your place. It has a relaxed vibe on the patio. During the day forty plus crowd. I hadn’t been for years. When I use to go it was only for happy hour. This time it wasn’t! The wine was very pricey, stick to happy hour. The only thing I ever ate there was the chicken egg rolls and they are still good. Never ate a meal there.

You are 40 something? You love to get your groove on? This is the place for you. We came sort of early and listened to the band on the patio. The patio was filled with the old folks, like me. I felt right at home. Everyone was dancing and having a fun time. After the band was done, the DJ started the party inside. It got packed quickly. The music was great. It was a mix of young and old. Lots of military men getting their groove on. All us moms had a great time. Drinks were amazing. We stuck with this blueberry mojito thing that was so good. The bartenders, kudos! Nice work guys. Very friendly staff and quick on the draw. So come on down to Coyote to have fun, get drunk, dance the night away, or just people watch and laugh with friends.

Want to know the definition of over priced? Come here for dinner. You’ll pay 16 – 20 $ for something you can buy in your local grocery isle. I ordered the steak enchiladas… Boy was I disappointed. ITSNOTEVENANENCHILADA! ITS A FRIEDTACO. It looks like a microwaveable meal. Extremely small portion for the price. We sat for 30 minutes with no one even asking us for our drink order. I had to ask a bus boy to get is a waiter. Terrible Mexican food! Terrible service. Its times like these I wish I could just walk out of the restaurant. Waitress was snobby and rattled off the beers way too quick to understand. Who hires these people? Blonde server is the only one who has any idea how to be personable and is competent.

This place gets the stars for the amazing live music at the patio and the fire pits. Went there last night(a Sunday) and the band was rocking old school dancing tunes. I was — for sure — the only person under the age of 60 there and joined the«dance floor» with all grandpas and grandmas… Had a blast. This is my kind of place, so much better than a club playing EDM full of obnoxious kids. The lack of stars goes to the service. We by the pit and there were no menus so I didn’t really know what I wanted. This server comes to us and whe we told her we didn’t know what we wanted because there was no menu, she rolled her eyes and left! I mean, she walked away on us! My friend had to go get drinks inside at the bar and I was having too much fun dancing to let it bother me but that was quite a throw off. Not the best impression for my first time there.

My family and I came to this place on a Friday for lunch and it wasn’t packed. Ambience is very casual we sat outside where they were fire pits and bar height tables. The server was pretty quick and the food came out in a timely manner. We tried the rattlesnake eggs and they were amazing. I think the rattlesnake eggs is a pretty funny name for the jalapeño poppers which is pretty much what they are. They are jalapenos stuffed with cream cheese and shrimp wrapped in bacon and baked. My uncle got a half rack of ribs and they were so the tender and moist the meat fell right off the bone. I usually don’t eat coleslaw but the coleslaw that comes with the order is very good. My brother and I shared the bacon Avocado Burger and it was huge and it was perfect for sharing for us.

Picture it– girls night out, Friday night, wanting some live music, some opportunities to dance, drink… friend suggested Coyote Bar & Grill. Sure, I’m game. Plenty of parking once you find the place. While there’s no big sign from the street, it’s in a strip mall. If you’re heading west on Carlsbad Village Drive and you’ve gone over the train tracks, you’re too far. The setup is nice. Firepits, band from 6 – 10, pretty decent size dance floor outside, drinks or food outside(can’t comment if it’s just appetizers or a full menu– I didn’t eat), and the people watching is simply unreal… Pseudo Mick Jagger and Ricardo Montalban were solo dancing the night away! Am I showing my age by talking about Ricardo Montalban? Eh, so be it! We saw all ages here, including families with young kids. Madison was our server and it seemed to take her a while to bring drinks over. Not sure if she was working solo, but I’ll give her the benefit of the doubt. She was pleasant. The band was pretty decent, tons of covers from the 70’s to top 40. The dance floor did get crowded. At some point in the evening, there was a cover charge. People were entering wearing wristbands and employees were setup outside to collect money. The dj set up inside and the age of the patrons dropped by a good 10 – 15 years. The setup inside really isn’t conducive to dancing. As you walk in, the dance floor is RIGHT there. Before the DJ set up, there were table here. DJ played club/rave music. No dress code at all. One girl was dancing the night away in workout clothing with a ‘jazzercise’ shirt on, men were wearing jeans… anything goes. The bouncers are on top of everything. Some crazy dancer threw his hands up while dancing and knocked both drinks out of my hand as I was waiting at the bar for my friend. Glass everywhere, drinks everywhere, bouncers all over the situation. Crazy dancer paid for replacement drinks when I told him to ‘make it right’. But, those bouncers were over there BEFORE any glass hit the floor! It was superhero lightening fast. I did see them escort one crazy inebriated guy out. Ladies room is a mess and only got worse as the night went on. That’s par for the course. Drink prices are reasonable. Nothing outrageous, in my opinion. Would I come back? Hmm… probably, but it wouldn’t be my first choice.

I came here on a Monday night with a bunch of people from work. We did not plan to come here, just kind of were exploring the area and ended up here. They had a karaōke set up going and so we decided to grab a few seats and see what’s up. We sat outside, they have a few fire pits and a really good crowd for a Monday. Our waitress came over immediatly, she was friendly and service was fast. I had a great time with my business partners and even though I can be a stick in the mud about listening to drunks sing Adele songs, this place prove to be really enjoyable. People here take their karaōke seriousy — no joke. Everyone is supportive of everyone else and the applause is thunderous. There is a $ 5 minimum per person to sit outside. I thought that was odd since there were 16 of us in total and two of us didn’t want anything. Strange they wouldn’t wave the $ 5 charge with 14 other people ordering multiple drinks throughout the night. Oh well, noone ever went broke over $ 5, it’s just worth mentioning if you are going with a large party. We did not order any food, so I can’t say what that was like, but they have a very large bar and a pretty decent selection of drinks so everyone should be able to get what they like.

While we were in Carlsbad we were told about the wonderful happy hour at the coyote grill. Well we decided to give it a try so we arrived promptly at 4 o’clock that’s when the Happy Hour begins. After sitting in our seats on the patio for over 20 minutes with no waitress in sight I walked inside to the bar and asked if they were open outside. The bartender in informed me sure will send somebody out yes he did send someone out her name was snaggle puss and that’s exactly the way she treated us like a upset tiger when someone was trying to snatch her cubs. After getting an explanation of the happy hour we decided to try a couple of the hors d’oeuvres they were all $ 3 off or 50% or something like that well the food wasn’t bad nothing too special just another ordinary meal the atmosphere is wonderful outdoors Southern California fire pits and they even had a karaōke night going on while we were there the karaōke is a Gas everyone really gets into it unfortunately the waitresses are probably the rudest and hard to find I’ve ever experienced in my 50 plus years of dining out. Maybe next time we try there they’ll have some new waitresses that actually care about the customers.

I think people come here for the atmosphere. There was a live band playing there on a Thursday night which you can get up on your feet and show your dance moves. Theres also numerous firepits for the social caterpillars. So now for the food and drinks… Salsa had no flavor. it was this dark salsa that just tasted oily and then nothing. Taste like NOTHING! The chips were chips nothing special. I had the chicken Tortilla soup which was good, I’ve had better but it was okay. The Salmon Salad was Good too, pretty minimal, theres 3 little pieces of salmon which I’m not complaining because I was getting full off of the tortilla soup. The Salmon was cooked well, very soft not burnt or anything. Now to the drinks! The Skinny tea is disgusting. It tasted like Splenda… but I guess thats what I get for trying a calorie conscious drink(* sweating face emoji with a smile). The coconut mojito was delicious… it had a little bit of a tanning oil after taste but that all comes with the malibu alcohol in it. I also came here on a saturday night, when it turns into a night club. It was fun, they played a bunch of bay area music which was shocking.

Got off the train at the station nearby and I had to burn some time till my wife picked me up. This place looked like most fun and they had live music on the patio(I believe this is a whole weekend thing) so I got in. Lots of seating at the bar, great service, TVs and a lot of buzz. Got some local beer on tap, they have a large selection, and some Tortilla soup(don’t judge, I’m addicted to it!). Food was great, beers kept coming and later the place got packed. Parking might be tough later in the day in the Village, so you might have to find a spot on the street and walk, or you’ll spend time driving around ANDTHEN looking for a spot on the street.

This is a fun place. I don’t have anything to say for the food since I only came here for drinks. They carry Tito’s which is my favorite vodka. That’s a plus for me. The bar was super packed but it was a Friday night. Lots of people on the dance floor. Clean bathrooms. Bartenders were pretty busy but they still seemed to have it under control. Didn’t have to wait that long for drinks. No complaints here. Will be checking this place out again when I visit Carlsbad.

Came here on a Saturday night at 8 with about 14 people. The outside firepit area was packed and we had to snatch up small areas at a time until we all had seats. The band played a fun selection of late 90’s music, and the people dancing were hilarious. At 10PM the DJ took over for the band and the crowd changes over some and becomes a little younger. Jessica B was our server and she held her own with all of us throwing drink orders her way non stop. There was this really young bus boy there clearing tables and handing out chicks & salsa, he had a great smile and was the funniest, most helpful guy. Security is a bit aggressive. You’d think they were guarding the White House for how locked down and serious they are. I didn’t feel remotely comfortable approaching any of them and would suggest they find a better line between SERIOUS business and aproachability. What I drank… Rasbery Lemon Drop(martini) — really very good but about an ounce too short for the price Home Wrecker — kind of a fun«girly» drink that reminded me of an LA Water if you know what that is Long Island Ice Tea — Yes please, maybe we have several more. Great drink if you can handle it. What I ate… Rattlesnake Eggs — These are Jalepeno poppers with a piece of shrimp tucked inside and then wrapped in bacon. Great idea and yummy as heck if you’re into poppers. The issue with these things is that you only get 4 poppers for $ 10.99 and that’s just ridiculous. For $ 10.99 I can make a good 30 poppers. The mark up on these just isn’t worth it. Steak & Bleu cheese salad — Great salad! Mix greens COVERED with yummy blue cheese, candied peacans, cranberries, bacon and medium rare steak. Seriously good eats(for a salad).
