The service is always the sweetest here! The food is fresh and great too, but the people always make me smile.

Normally i’m a fan of pick up sticks but they are false advertising a dish that i had to comment on. We ordered the Thai coconut curry chicken, and there is little to no coconut flavor in the dish and there is basically no sauce. so it’s not a typical type of curry dish at all. Just want readers to know that before ordering. It wasnt bad per say but it wasn’t really coconut curry.

It was fresh, fast and delish. We got the family meal and it was plenty of food. Very clean eating area and friendly staff. Hands down, better the Panda.

Pick up Stix beats panda any day. Fresh food, never warmed, and the best sauce for the house chicken! Clean environment, with upbeat and awesome staff! For sure always getting my fix here no doubt.
Some people say their food takes super long, actually met someone there that received theirs after mine. But it’s due to the odd type orders that takes them longer to prep. Also people complaining about the food are expecting some gourmet straight from the island type food, it’s American type kitchen so yeah, go figure. But the best American Japanese there is!

Consistently good food and service here. We stop inn maybe once every other week for a quick meal, and it’s always been great. Bourbon chicken is lightly sweet, and the sweet and sour chicken is always a decent staple. Try the chocolate dipped fortune cookies.

Order was wrong and there was hair in our entrée… this place has really gone downhill…

Giving one star not because of food but for one reason. On three occasions my daughter and I were hassled by an employee, on our last visit mid June my daughter just wanted to leave he made her feel uncomfortable and scared.
I tried to contact Corporate offices, couldn’t get a live person, had to leave an e-​mail; site stated that someone would respond soon, it has been over three weeks! We’ve decided as a family that were going to find someplace new to eat.

Awesome pad thai! A little pricey but amazing flavor. I would also recommend any of the chicken dishes.

They got a new crew well trained and friendly and efficient. The place was clean and the food was great. I hope they can keep it up. So far very happy with this location. I love their gluten free pad Thai and special house beef and Kung pao chicken and cream cheese wanton.

Not very good, came for lunch, ordered shrimp Kung pao with brown rice.
Took over 25 min to receive order. When I got it, it was not very good. Sauce was tangy, shrimp had shriveled up and there were not many. There was maybe one peanut in there. All in all, Panda would have been better.
Thankfully, they are not in NorCal

Better than Yan Can. White meat chicken was tender. Pretty ok for fast food American asian food

Wow! Coming from the Bay Area and being used to having Panda Express. Pick Up Sitx is your next level to fast food… actually its better than fast food. I ordered a Mongolian beef and fried rice. It was amazingly delicious and family loves it.
I am impressed.
I wish someone would start franchising on the Bay Area, specifically in San Jose Ca.

Not the best fast food Chinese restaurant around and also not the worst. Just so-​so.
On the down side: Corporate Americanized version of Chinese fare. Cloying sauces. If you order two different items of even vastly differing flavors they will simply pile one on top of the other in your container. Destroys both items.
On the plus side: plenty of convenient and free parking. Never any sort if wait or even any line to speak of. Best of all – they are right next door to a better restaurant (St. Tropez) so you don’t have to look far when you realize the food here disgusts you.
This place makes PF Chang’s look like gourmet authentic delicacies.

I absolutely LOVE this place. I just moved to Carlsbad from NorCal in late November and have literally eaten here over a dozen times already because my house is 2 miles away. The staff is super friendly, the food is fresh and tasty, and the place is always spotless. Plus you get PF Chang quality food at a fraction of the price. I can’t say enough good things about the place this will continue to be my most frequented restaurant :)

For a Pick Up Stix, this location is beautiful! I was really impressed when hubby and I went in for a quick bite. They’ve changed the décor — it’s really colorful now and they’ve got these circular booths (I love booths) that are really comfy too. They’re always very accommodating when it comes to coupons (which I love too!) and specials.
I like that there is nice outdoor seating and a semi-​private parking lot next to the eatery too. Thanks Pick Up Stix! We’ll be back. ..

Food is always fresh and this place is always clean. I have been to many locations and this one in Carlsbad is definitely the cleanest and my GO to!
Servers are friendly as well.

Convenient location in a major shopping center, between the beach and Highway 5. We have been regulars for many years because of their fresh, flavorful meals & excellent customer service.
For vegetarian dishes, I always order tofu in place of meat. The tofu is cut into wedges, breaded and crispy. However, if you don’t want fish or shellfish sauce, or if you are allergic to seafood, check the sauces very carefully. Many of their sauces contain fish or shellfish. They have a checklist at the counter to help you with that.
I give today’s service a five star plus rating due to the great customer service. After I ordered tofu coconut curry, I asked and found out that it contains fish sauce. They were kind enough to remake the entire dish for me, with general Tso sauce instead.

With a late craving for Chinese food, I decided on Pick Up Stix because of the location, and their dishes are of good quality and free of MSG.
I ordered online at about 8:25pm Saturday, to pick up my food at 8:45pm. The online ordering is very simple (but thorough) and it required payment which obviously makes the pick up easy. I got an order of crispy honey chicken with white rice, which came to about $ 9.
I showed up at about 8:40am. It might not be a big deal to some people, but I was bothered by the delayed greeting I received. When a car visibly parks in front of your door, and someone gets out, you have time to prepare to greet the customer almost instantly as he walks in. Besides a table with two guests finishing their dinner, the place wasn’t busy. I stood at the counter (in this case, even one second is too long) until the girl decided to stop her chat, walk to the registers, and say hello. I told her I had an online order, and she brought it right over. She was very sweet as she directed me to the soy sauce, hot mustard, and chopsticks. I believe 4– or 5-​star customer service involves a faster hello when someone gets to the counter; unless you are busy, which they weren’t.
My main reason for writing this review is to mention the sub-​par rice I received. When I got home, I dished up a serving of rice and chicken, only to be greatly disappointed by the fact that I was served the «end-​of-​the-​night» rice. I wish there was a way they could’ve made it fresh (or at least fresher), but it was dry, hard, and clumpy. I got the hint: don’t order food 35 minutes before closing.
I am forced to leave a 3-​star rating due to a slightly problematic greeting after I walked through the door, and a very problematic box of white rice. I would understand (and deserve) that rice if I ordered closer to closing.

I genuinely love Pick Up Stix. It’s hard to find a «fast food» Chinese restaurant that truly tries to keep their food as healthy as possible and Pick Up Stix does just that. The ambiance is good for fast food, especially since they added the booths. I prefer to sit outside when I go or even take my food to go & walk to South Carlsbad State Beach Campsites. I got the garlic chicken lunch, which came with steamed veggies and your choice of white or brown rice. They also give you cream cheese wontons with a dipping sauce when you order the lunch special. Lastly, the remodel involved putting in a gaming center with 3 tablets in the back of the restaurant that people can sit at and play on. I didn’t personally play but it seemed like this would be a big hit.

After the remodel, the place is very nice. The Mongolian Beef and Orange chicken lunch specials had more than enough food for us. The staff was friendly and the place was clean, there is even a little area with iPads for kids. Good place.
