Used to go here for subs, but the sophomoric adolescents working here are more interested in each other than the customers. Subs are scant at best, and the looks of the place make one question sanitation. Lots better Subways in the area where you see cleanliness, great service and yes, a great sub. Just not here…

Only 1 of 2 Subways I’ve ever been to, all across the country, that was less than mediocre. I rarely eat at Subway or any fast food joint(I’m an organic cook & mostly eat my own homemade, from scratch food, at home), but recently I’ve been traveling a lot & sometimes it’s necessary to just grab anything. This Subway is at a convenient, local strip mall, next to the Starbucks & Ralph’s. As I was on my way out of town for 1-wk & in a rush to just grab some grub to fill me for a 4-hr ride, I tried this location. I won’t ever again. The cons: * Stale bread. First time ever, I had stale bread at Subway. She just took 2 huge trays out of the oven the moment I walked in(I had to wait 3-min for her to get it all sorted out)… why did I get day old, unappetizingly stale, wheat bread!!! * Scant meat. I’ve only had this happen at 1 other Subway in downtown San Diego. It stunned me. I ate the 6″ in 5-min & was still hungry… normally a 12″ fills me for an entire day(in fact, ¼ of the sub is normally leftover for me to eat in the morning) & it’s my only meal for the day… no kidding. * Most pricey Subway or I was overcharged. I have never paid more than $ 5 – 7 for a BMT foot long, my standard… but, this 6″ was almost $ 9! What?! Since I was in a horrendous rush & just needed to chew & swallow at a furious pace before getting on the road, late… I just paid it & didn’t argue the point. * Inside music is too LOUD! I’ve never been in a Subway where music was playing at all & I had to YELL my sandwich preferences over boombox music… yep, it’s the 80s at this Subway. The pros: * None. At all. Maybe I hit them on an off day, but I don’t want to ever again pay $ 9 for a stale, 6″ sub. Go to any other Subway location. If in Carlsbad, there are others within a few miles, so GPS it & you’ll be better off. If this ever happened again, I’d bring my sub back pronto & demand it be made again. This place is unacceptable. 0* out of 5, but the system only allows for giving 1 as a lowest score.

This Subway is by far the worst I have been to. I have given this location the benefit of the doubt on numerous occasions because its so convenient during my 30 minute lunch break from my job down the street. However, staff is childish play around in the back, speak innappropriatly about inappropriate things in front of customers, flirty and try to hit on me and flirty and speak vulgar to the female employee who was working. Every time I go in and ask for soup they say they never have it and it was the girls fault cause she is slacking. I have to wait at least 3 to 5 minutes for someone to acknowledge that I am there to place an order with a bunch of juvenile rude lazy kids that serve me something that tastes like stale nasty crap and listen to the stupid banter! I have decided to just use the subway on Paseo Del Norte from now on. Same distance from my work, nice happy smiling staff with courtesy and their stuff is actually fresh, and yes they actually have the broccoli and chedder soup that I always ask at this location but for some reason never have soup or anything else. This location needs new management period!!!

This is the worst subway I’ve been too and I’ve been to many of them. The employees all have an attitude as if you are doing them a great favor buying there. They are more interested in hurrying up with your order so they can go to the back. What goes on back there. Their toaster wasn’t working and instead of putting up a sign saying so, he made my sandwich and ran off to the back and I said I would like it toasted, and he didn’t respond, the cashier answered that the toaster was not working. I left… There is a subway up the street on Paseo Del Norte and Palomar Airport Rd. They were very friendly… NOT running off to the back and giving me attitude. I’ve dealt with the attitfude at this place several times… this was the last straw. The owner needs to send in someone so they can see how their employees are acting…

Subway is the sandwich go to, when you don’t care about your sandwich, it is consistent(not good, not bad) it is the elevator music of the sandwich world. I have come here many times, no issues, but last week, Not only did I get a middle of the road sandwich, the girl behind the counter had total attitude — they wanted to be here less than me. So, 2 stars down this time, sandwich was fine, but came with poor customer service on the side!

The most poorly managed Subway I have ever been in. There’s a legitimate reason that this location has such a low review score: This location skimps on the sandwich fixings as though they’re doling out diamonds. The girl preparing our sandwiches took an excruciatingly long time to make the orders for the people before ours. Then I noticed why. Her every move is hyper managed by the humorless jerk who was training her. Seriously… you’re going to actually count the scant number of onion shreds? They rook you every way they can at this location. We often order the kids’ meals for our crew. This location insists on making them on a 2.5 inch wedge of bread. We finally had enough and left. Ordered the same meals at another location and came away with double the size in sandwiches.

I called this location this morning to get 5 subs made for a party … The phone number on Unilocal wasn’t correct. I know it’s open — I passed by yesterday to make sure I knew the hours. Oh well, they lost out — I called the location at the Outlet Mall & they were open and very helpful!

Why does this subway not allow American Express?

I usually like the subways that I go to. As I walked into this one, there was no one in the front. I had to yell out«Hello!» about three times before this lady finally came out. I ordered the oven roasted chicken breast. I wanted extra veggies which I was given. I took the sandwich home just to find out that some of the sides of the chicken were still frozen. I am rethinking of never going into a subway again.

Went in for breakfast this morning and tried the 3 dollar combo. Wel, it turns out the $ 3 combo actually costs $ 4.31 which to me makes no sense. I specifically asked how much JUST the sandwich costs and he said $ 4.31 so i said why not just get the combo, it’s the same price? I do not even want to try and figure it out. Change the sign to $ 4 combo please. Won’t be getting subway for a while. Just go and buy rolls and meat from Ralphs and make sandwiches the whole week and save a lot of $.

Don’t come in thinking that they will let you use their restroom. They directed me to the starbucks next door. Plus they don’t have all the 5 dllr foot longs other subways have. The sub was good that’s why I give them 2 stars.

In the past two weeks here is what has been found in sandwiches of people in my company. This week: my partner received some kind of chemical burning sensation in his mouth and throught. Different that spicy hot like Jalapeño in that it had a distinct chemical burning that lasted for hours. The prior week someone found a big long hair in her sandwich The prior week I found a piece of plastic that was about 1 inch wide by 4 – 5 inches long. It must have been stuck to the bottom of the chicken breast when it was placed in my sandwich. The workers are friendly, but there are some sanitation issues they need to resolve.

All Subway’s smell exactly like their sandwich’s taste. It creeps me out.

Big rip-off! I usually like Subway, but not this location. My son always orders the same thing — a cold cut combo. In reality he only asks for turkey, olives, and cucumber — nothing else — no cheese, no mayo — nothing! But this location charged this as a premium sub, and when he did spontaneously ask for salami they wanted to add another $ 2 to the already higher than expected price. What they did put on was paltry. They should be ashamed.

I usually like Subway when I’m in a hurry and want to save a bit of money. You know what you are getting and the quality is fairly good for fast food. This location is very popular as it sits adjacent to a lovely courtyard with seating. When it’s sunny it is a nice place to hang out. This location is however staffed with young local kids who are just not on the ball. On several occasions they were exhibiting signs of ADD and non-service oriented mannerisms… I won’t go into detail but I’ve been treated better. They didn’t like special requests or change that would have them deviate from the norm. SODON’T DEVIATE!
