Randomly stopped in here for quick breakfast before heading to the airport. I had ABC omelette and my friend had salmon and goat cheese omelette and both were delicious! Service with a smile — lots of specialty coffee options and large selection of Republic of Tea. Quaint and nice patio(although too cold for us)!

Fine, but nothing really remarkable. The food was pretty tasty, and the environment pleasant, but the service was really mediocre… I would say our overall impression was this restaurant could be more special and standout-ish with more involved service staff. As it was though, nothing jumped out to push it into 4 star territory. Not disappointed, but not impressed either.

My coworkers and I went there to try something new for breakfast in the neighborhood … We ordered the banana and Nutella, Nutella and strawberry crepes as well as a side of potatoes and eggs … The customer services was very mediocre and lazy I would say … No suggestions for today’s specials, sides or anything at that point … When we got the silverware we noticed that they were dirty and still had food stuck to them… How Gross… The order arrived all mixed up and wrong, the food was cold and tasteless with an excessive amount of seasoning and spices. Crepes were obviously not freshly made and super liquidy inside, you can tell the difference between«fresh» bananas and strawberries… The bananas were mushy. While my coworker was in line to pay she noticed that the pastry display had mosquitos inside. When she told the server all she said was«oh no that’s not good», and made no effort to clean the display. One of my coworkers went to pay at the register and the server asked her if I was going to pay or if I was going to leave without paying or If I left the cash on the table. When I had already walked out of the restaurant. How unprofessional that she asked her about my payment. …I gave this place one star because out of the whole meal the Passion Fruit Ice Tea was actually the only good thing.

I am so glad Saint Tropez is here! Went for breakfast on a Sunday morning. It is much larger than it looks from the front & has outdoor seating. I ordered the croissant breakfast sandwich w/side of potatoes & fruit. WAY too much food — will get it ala carte next time. Husband had an omelette filled with yummy veggies — devoured it! The coffee was *really* good and our waitress was helpful and sweet. I do think she was the only server working, however, and the place was busy! Will definitely be back!

I stopped into this place to grab some grub for the beach. We ordered the tuna, an Italian and the chicken curry. My son liked the italian and the curry sandwich was just ok in our opinion but it was supposed to be on a croissant and they were out that day. The tuna was delicious! Really loved the chunks of pickles and sliced eggs. The bread was fresh and the side of fruit was nice and ripe. I loved the tuna so much I went back a couple days later for the same thing. Friendly staff, very clean and nicely decorated inside.

Food was disappointing; was hoping for more authentic recipes — beef Bourgogne and coq at vin; salads were on par with Mc Donalds. Ambience was meh — in a strip mall; wine had turned for the worst.

My first time here and I felt the quality of the food and the service was excellent. I had the Croissant French Toast and my girlfriend had the Eggs Benedict. I think next time I’ll try the crepes. We will definitely be back again. In response to the other reviews, I’m sorry the view of the Ralph’s parking lot doesn’t have the same level of ambiance as the in Encinitas, but I judge a restaurant on the quality of the food and service, not on the view. A place could be overlooking the cove in La Jolla, but if they serve, or the service is crap, I’m not going back

Oh HI rich, delicious breakfast foods. South Carlsbad doesn’t know what hit ‘em! With your rich, French flair — yes, butter, cream, yolky eggs. oh YOU! I shouldn’t eat 95% of what is on this menu, between my food allergies and my overall well-being. The food is so rich and delectable, and you really don’t need much to satisfy your body, nutritionally speaking. Let’s move on from here… SHAME on ME for finishing my perfect, but sizable, omelette filled with goat cheese, red onion and smoked salmon. It could not have been more PERFECTLYCOOKED — muah! The plate came with a cup of fruit(mostly melon :/) and mouth-watering rosemary potatoes that I took home for later consumption. SHAME on my BOYFRIEND for making it through even half of his [massive] croissant breakfast sandwich, to which he had bacon, avocado and goat cheese on. His came with a fruit cup as well, and the extra half of the breakfast monstrosity and rosemary potatoes were packed away in a to-go container prior to departure. **The breakfast sandwich can be split, it’s HUGE! In summary, WEAREFATKIDS :) And sometimes, on weekend, we indulge. St. Tropez Carlsbad not only gives us a route to do it, they ENCOURAGE us. For that unapologetic approach to the breakfast menu, I say THANKYOU for not judging me as I sit in my «nice sweats» nibbling on that last morsel of smoked salmon :)

This place is probably a solid 2– 2.5 stars as the items served aren’t really anything to write home about. Have only been to this particular location once and wasn’t really all that impressed, primarily with the food and the organization of the staff. Don’t get me wrong, the staff was actually really friendly and the menu is quite substantial however, the place just seemed a bit disorganized with the ordering and food presentation, took roughly 20 – 30 for a lackluster egg sandwich, potatoes and some fruit. The taste of the meal itself was just meh and rather bland while the fruit tasted good, the sandwich average and the potatoes were significantly undercooked. Overall, the location was cool and the service was friendly, the food just didn’t really do it for me… Pros– Location Friendly Pet friendly outdoor seating Italian sodas Cons– Disorganized Average tasting food Slow service Undercooked potatoes Price not commensurate with product served Taking orders seemed confusing

Living so close for almost a year I figure I would have been here already. My friend and I walked down here for breakfast and sat on the patio; it is self seating. Seems like they allow dogs on the patio as well so that was pretty neat. The menu is pretty mouth watering. We both ordered the Salmon w/avocado Tartine and WOW amazing. I’m already craving it again. This dish isn’t just a breakfast dish– it’s served all day. The salmon was perfectly smoked and the panini it lay on was not too thick but deliciously thin, served with a fresh side salad. The dish was just the right amount to keep me full but not stuffed to where I would dread the uphill walk home. My only concern was the menu mentioned dill on the salmon sandwich and neither my friend or I saw the ingredient. However, it was still yummy and I’ll order it again next time. I would give it a 5 star however, the service was iffy. Our waitress was sweet but she took our drinks and forgot to bring them back for awhile. I didn’t complain because I had my water bottle with me, but it’s still a bit of a lack of service. Will be back very soon!

Stopped here for a late breakfast and was very happy with the service and quality of my meal. I ordered an egg white omelet with avocado and spinach and it came with a side of potatoes, fruit and a fresh baguette. Portions are large enough to keep you satisfied. Heard their crepes are good too. Will have to try them next!

Delicious fresh food. Their French Onion Soup is some if the best I’ve ever tasted. Their Hollandaise Sauce is delicately flavored, light and made fresh.

Went today for breakfast. We chose to sit inside, but even though it was pouring rain the patio looked like a nice option too, since it is completely covered and has heaters :) We started off with some coffee, and ordered breakfast. I chose the breakfast sandwich and asked if they could press it like a panini. Soooo good! inside are scrambled eggs with choice of 2 toppings, mine were avocado and cheddar cheese. yum! it was the perfect amount, with a small side of fruit and breakfast potatoes. delish. My white chocolate mocha was amazing, as was the food. Only«complaint» is that our coffee seemed like it took a long time to make and bring over to us, but it was so yummy it made up for that. Woo! love this place, I’ll be back!(last week I got a sandwich to go, that was also fantastic)

I love the location of this bistro! Beautiful courtyard with running water within earshot, plenty of either shade or sun, and clean public restrooms nearby. At this time, there was when live music :) The food is really good… Fresh, big portions, and yummy taste. I ordered the daily special: Croque Monsieur. It was something I’d never had anywhere before. It was basically a layered grilled cheese and ham sandwich, with an open top layer. There was some sort of creamy cheese sauce, not too cheesy just enough to add moisture to the sandwich. It was delicious! It came with a lemonade, which was also very yummy. There is a big table outside, with very comfy soft stools. That area was perfect for a large group of eight or so. I’d be interested to see what the dinner tastes like here. A bonus for me is there are plenty of high chairs. They pastries in the case look awesome as well!

Have been Tropez diners for several years at the Encinitas location. So happy they came to Carlsbad. They make excellent crepes. Service is always timely and good. The menu is diverse — something for everyone. My husband loves breakfast here. Just upgrade the flatware, please. Cheap forks are nasty on the fingers when pressing down. Good coffee. The patio is great with wind protection and umbrellas; dogs welcomed on patio. Good parking.

Really good food at a low price. Staff was a little confused but very friendly and fixed things right away. Simple but nice décor.

Pretty big sized menu with different yummy options and bakery looks awesome. I had the pitaya bowl and it tasted good but could have used some more flavor with maybe some seeds or more granola less banana. My mother had the spinach feta omelette and she said it could use more flavor and it was pretty small. Good prices.

Still coming here, still liking it. They continue to publish the coupons they did when they first opened. $ 5 off $ 25. That’s pretty good. During the holidays, they have excellent seasonal coffees. Egg nog latte, pumpkin spice, etc. They have something for everyone, from very sweet to very healthy. Sometimes I’m in the mood for an acai bowl, and sometimes I step up my grease game with a croque monsieur. Either way, I’m never disappointed. My one gripe is their patio furniture. Very uncomfortable. They made an improvement by adding the awning, hopefully they continue to improve the décor.

4.5 stars. This place has settled in nicely into Carlsbad. It looks like they worked out the kinks mentioned in the earlier reviews right after they opened. I’ve been twice now, once for dinner and once for breakfast. Both times I sat on the patio and the service was great. We were greeted right away, received our menus and water and orders taken efficiently. The food came out surprisingly quickly. For breakfast, the omelets are good as is the croissant French toast. I’m looking forward to trying the Acai and Pitaya bowls some time, or their wonderfully sounding crepes selections. For dinner I had a «NICE» panini(that was the name of it) which came with Proscuitto, tomato, and moz, and it was quite good. My friend had the spinach salad and seemed to like it. My other friend tried the chicken curry croissant. He was expecting it to be hotter, but said it was mild curry like in the European style, but it was stilll quite fresh tasting. All and all, we have had great service and dining experiences the two times we have been. Glad they joined the neighborhood, as we will be back.
