Had a great time with our bike rentals, and was pleased they offered a child seat for my daughter.

Great beach rental shop. Cruisers are $ 5/hr — one hour minimum and then billed in 15 minute increments so you can return when you want rather than signing up for a time frame at the beginning. Rentals include optional helmet and lock, only con was no basket on their bikes.

UNEXPECTED, HELPFULSTORE, MUSTVISIT Me and my DW are new to biking(OK I am the newbie). We decided to take a long ride(to me) from downtown oceanside to carlsbad to have lunch. It is the longest ride I have ever been on and clearly we were not ready. Just as we entered Carlsbad, her front tire is totally flat. We walk our bikes to this«bike rental place» to see if we can use a pump. I’m already thinking yeah right but low and behold we get to use a bike pump with no complaints. COOL! We carry on and in no time flat, FLAT. The tube is shot obviously, but where do you get a replacement or a patch on a SUNDAY afternoon? After walking all over Carlsbad for a solution we ended up back at this bike place. Surely they might have something? YES! They had a new tube and helped us install it. It was a sale that probably made little to no profit, but the girl was glad to help. We met the store kitty kat, and actually had a blast just hanging out there for a bit. So if you are from out of town reading this review, support this shop. It is one of the last places left that you can get good personal service from. PS. They have many bikes for sale for reasonable prices if you want to score yourself a bike to take home. I would give 6 stars if I could…

Friendly, accommodating and good pricing. We rented two bikes for two hours to cruise up to the Oceanside Pier and back. A lock was included at no charge, which helped when we walked the pier(biking not allowed). They will also rent from close to open for a two hour charge if you like early morning blking.

I’ve gone to this place twice now recommended to me by seaworthy. Super friendly non-uptight laid back atmosphere, which is really fitting for the nature of the beast. Each time I rented a surf board. They offer lessons which I’ve not used. But probably should since I’m new to the sport. If I do wind up paying for lessons it will be from them. At $ 7 an hour or $ 30 a day per board how can you go wrong, especially with the beach head so close by too! Be aware of the cat that wanders around the shop it’s super lazy and loves to be pet.

This is that crazy blue and orange shack with all the bicycles and surf boards on Carlsbad and Christiansen. It really livens up the neighborhood and is a great place to go to rent or buy beach related sports equipment. You gotta love it.

My daughter and I were here a couple of weekends ago trying to rent a tandem bike. Needless to say it didn’t work out because I’m a horrible biker and my daughter’s legs were too short. The woman who worked there was really nice and helped us try and find bikes, but in the end, less than 5 minutes later after my daughter and I both fell off, we took the bike back. I offered to pay regardless, but she told me it was okay. We will definitely come back next time when my daughter can ride without training wheels. Other than that, the prices to rent bikes, boogie boards, etc were very cheap and reasonable and this shop is only two blocks from the beach.

One of the few real surf shops left… a great spot for the locals and tourists to rent toys and take surf lessons… the place looks so cute on the outside with lots of color. The inside has the essentials for a day at the beach. I like the shop because, unlike the huge shops, it’s a place to find unique items at great prices. But, I must say, the Raw Skin name kinda hurts when I even say it!
