Beautiful tasting room. Lots of great artwork to view. Nice grounds to sit and enjoy a glass of wine. Was offered a glass of the Cabernet Sauvignon. It was very good. Will definitely return to enjoy some more wine and a pizza. Lovely wine pourer!

Georis Winery is a must try when in the Carmel Valley area! The tasting room is so cute– it has lovely art(I was specifically fond of the abstract nudes) and the roaring fireplace adds a very charming element to the atmosphere. The artwork is done by Walter Georis himself! For snacks, we love munching on the Charcuterie Plate(an assortment of fresh meats and cheeses with their delicious homemade bread). This pairs wonderfully with the wine. Now for the main event… Vino! My mom and I split one of the«Chilled Flights»(2014 Les Abeilles, 2014 Pinot Grigio, 2014 Sauvignon Blanc, and the 2014 ‘Lavender Label’ Chardonnay) and one of the«Estate Tastings»(2013 Pinot Noir, 2012 Georis Estate ‘La Chapelle’, and 2009 Estate ‘Cles des Moutons’). My two favorite wines out of the seven were the 2014 Pinot Grigio and the 2014 Sauvignon Blanc, deets below: 2014 Pinot Grigio: This white offers a nose of succulent jasmine, crème brûlée, kiwi, and lemon. The soft entry leaves you to a dry finish of marzipan, almond, and lemon. Light and flavorful, this is the perfect wine for fish or pasta. 2014 Sauvignon Blanc: A barrel fermented wine with a tropical nose of kiwi, pineapple, and lemon zest. This white is medium bodied with a well balanced acidity and a lovely clean finish! Thanks so much to the staff at Georis for their incredible wine and service!

One of the most relaxing wineries I have ever visited. The staff was very welcoming and informative. We selected to share the red flight since it was a little pricey, but you definitely get your money’s worth in the tasting. We had four wines to taste and the glasses were filled halfway. They also bring out a bread and cheese plate to cleanse the palate in between wines. We visited in December so we opted to sit inside by the fire and enjoy ourselves. We left very pleased with our experience here and will absolutely return in the future.

I joined the wine club! There is also a restaurant adjacent to the winery and the girl that was working explained all the wines and the history of the winery. It’s a delightful place and the wine was excellent!

Amazing lemon pizza, insane short ribs and wonderful lavender wines we just recently were guests at a beautiful rehearsal dinner held here and we were so blown away with the gorgeous atmosphere, delicious food and top notch service. Wonderful establishment and we can’t wait to come back again.

We were a little taken back by the cost of the tasting($ 20 for 3 pours) but we were delighted with the outdoor garden tasting area, the staff was friendly, and the wines exquisite. We did the estate tasting — our favorite was the Clos du Moutons 2009 … so much so we paid for another glass, which we enjoyed with lunch in the adjoining restaurant.

On a beautiful Monterey summer evening this place is the perfect place to sample a flight in Carmel Valley. Dog friendly if they are on a leash, they have beautiful quaint gardens with fountains and just the right amount on sun peaking through the trees to keep your table at the perfect temperature. Also all flights are $ 20 ranging between 3 – 5 tastings. Plus comes with a small bread and cheese plate. I was here by myself with my two golden retrievers on a lovely Friday evening. Would love to come back with my boyfriend one evening. A place I know my mom would love!

This is a fun little place in the village… the area is becoming a little wine village and for that I am excited. Georis may not have the many varietals as others and may not have great wine in our opinion, but as I have said many times wine is subjective and for that I typically dont blast a place for not having a lot of wines we like. the staff was friendly and we enjoyed our time here so for that reason we give it 4 stars.

You’re going to love the charming patio, the friendly staff, the laid-back atmosphere, and the nice Central Coast wines. Plus they are connected to Corkscrew next door and they encourage you to wander over with your wine glass for a Happy Hour pizza from Corkscrew’s woodfire oven. Delightful — it quickly became our favorite place in Carmel Valley during our 3-day stay.

The ambience of relaxed European gardens and wine tasting at your own patio table allows your senses to enjoy the tasting here. A very courteous staff(we had the amazing sweet Zoe) also helps. We weren’t pressured to do anything other than enjoy our wines — which are presented in a cool lineup at once so you can compare each pour. And the wines are delicious!

Hours say 10 – 6, but was told they close in 5 minutes. Staff seemed more eager to get out than be customer service oriented :(

What a lovely find this was! The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, the wine is good too! Bring lunch and enjoy it in the courtyard or go inside and order up a flight of wines to taste with a charcuterie or cheese platter and relax, you’re in good hands.

One of the best wineries in Carmel Valley! The staff is great and super friendly. They have a beautiful garden-like patio seating area, which is great on warm days. My husband and I always enjoy their happy hour on the weekends. Georis Winery is a must if you’re ever in the Carmel Valley area!

We received a complimentary tasting voucher from dinner at Casanova so decided to make a Saturday afternoon outing to Carmel Valley. Upon inquiring we were told that we could select from any of the tastings so I went with the whites and my husband went with the estate. After our tasting we headed over to Corkscrew for lunch. Toward the end of our lunch the person who I assume is the tasting room manager comes over and makes a comment that confuses my husband. Apparently our voucher was only supposed to be good for a splash. After little back and forth the tasting room manager says she will honor our voucher but in a way that suggested she was doing us a favor. The patio is lovely and the other staff were super nice. However the wines were only OK and the unprofessional handling of the incident left a bad taste.

It’s hard to go wrong wine tasting in such a beautiful city, but Georis managed to pull it off. How? Let me explain… First, they make you choose either a red or a white flight, none of their flights allow you to taste both. When did I sign up for a monogamous relationship with the wines I drink? I want to live like a bachelor and taste all of the different flavors the world has to offer, but like a controlling girlfriend Georis Winery wont let me… Second, they overlap their tasting flights. They have two red flights(five tastings each), but two wines show up on both flights… why? You would think that for these wines to show up on both flights they would have to be the Beyonce of their estate. But after one taste you realize it’s just a boring Cabernet and a forgettable Merlot(apparently they decided to serve the Steve Buscemi instead). Third, they serve you all five glasses at once to your table without telling you anything about the wine you are drinking. This makes it feel much more like a wine bar than a winery. I guess there really isn’t much to say about each glass other than«this one sucks,» or «this Pinot is perfect for when you run out of Franzia.» If you are lucky enough to find yourself wine tasting in Carmel Valley don’t stop here, you will thank me later.

Went on a Saturday afternoon. It was happy hour so glasses were about $ 6(love the Pinot) and pizzas from Corkscrew café next door were $ 7! Lovely courtyard and great prices for very good wine and excellent brick oven pizza. Highly recommend!

Upon recommendation from a CV resident, Georis was on our most recent wine tasting itinerary. Coincidentally, they were our last stop and offer happy hour drink prices(flights or wine by the glass) along with light bites. Perfect for those who aren’t quite ready for a full meal… or who don’t want to stop drinking just yet. After tasting several bold reds already, I went straight for the rose and really enjoyed the generous pour! So much so, I purchased a bottle to take home and popped it open just a day after returning from Carmel Valley. A bottle cost less than $ 25. Our group of four sat outside on the patio and soaked in the last hour of so of Indian summer sunshine. BUT if you want to venture inside, there’s a kitschy little gift shop with tons of funny books and novelty items. Nothing like a Spencer’s in the mall(no black light posters or mushroom necklaces), just a handful of gifts that elicit a chuckle for those who aren’t faint at heart. Overall a very pleasant wine drinking experience. Located in the heart of the tasting rooms, worthy of a happy hour visit.

Let’s get this straight: Georis is a wine bar, not a tasting room. They may have one of the cutest courtyards in Carmel, but the wines were underwhelmingly classic. Here’s how their«tasting room» works, and why we thought it was just OK… Bummer #1: You pay $ 20 for a flight of 5 wines. Sure, the pours are generous, so you end up with about 2 glasses worth in the end. But the wines are nothing out of the ordinary: Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, Sauv Blanc, multiple Cabs, a Merlot. Old-school Carmel. Bummer #2: You have to pick the white or red flight, there is no mix & match. I’m sorry, but part of the fun of wine tasting is getting a variety of sips, not having to stick to an all-white, all-red theme! Annoying. We ended up ordering one of each flight, just so we could taste both whites and reds. Boom, $ 40 wine tasting. Bummer #3: Two of the 5 reds we tasted were corked, and I had to bring them back to the bar, where the staff agreed that the wines were nasty & undrinkable(even though they’d already poured those spoiled wines for other customers) and they opened up fresh bottles to pour from. Hey, corked wines are out of the winery’s control, but the fact that 2 stanky wines were being poured without any of the staff noticing is kinda weird. Bummer #4: They tout the fact that your $ 20 wine tasting comes with a «cheese plate.» Don’t be fooled by the photos on the Unilocal page(the giant platter of cheeses with fruits, nuts, and bread). That’s the cheese plate you have to order off their food menu for an extra $ 14. The«free» cheese plate is a tiny saucer with a few chunks of cheddar, industrial brie, and some dry ciabatta. I appreciate the«palate cleanser» but this cheese plate was just pathetic. Besides all the bummer moments, it is a lovely setting to drink wine in(just pretend you’re at a bar/restaruant, not a tasting room). After you order your flight, you pick a spot in the romantic Spanish-style courtyard and they bring your flight out to you with a tasting map & notes. It’s very self-service. The staff were definitely pleasant, even though they didn’t take much initiative to make sure the customer experience was top notch. So — if you need a break from hopping between tasting rooms, Georis is a nice(expensive) place to relax. Just don’t expect the wines to blow your mind, or to chat with knowledgeable wine geeks while you sip.
