Great little winery in Carmel Valley. They have a smaller tasting room than most, but don’t let that fool you. Everyone in the winery was incredibly friendly and attentive. When we went they were finishing off a case of their amazing sparkling wine. I’m still kicking myself for not buying a bottle. If they have any left, I definitely suggest trying it.

Great little winery on a street of wineries. The owner himself interacts with the customers and despite being a 100 year old vineyard, the winery is a new venture of one of the sons. The servers have a great knowledge of not only their wine but are able to compare their products to the wines of nearby tasting rooms for a better understanding of the flavor. Whether your third sampling tour or the first, it’s a well suggested stop! Wines are produced in limited number of cases and sold exclusively in the area, so it’s a great gift for any visitors!

Amongst the best wines we sampled during our recent trip to Monterey. Facility is nicely laid out with a nice shaded patio out back. Staff are very friendly. We needed to change the shipping date for a delivery and the staff went out of their way to help, despite the shipping company claiming it was too late. Thanks for your hospitality and great wines! P. S. We couldn’t resist but have officially nicknamed this winery«Twisted Sister». Yeah, probably been done before, but cool none the less.

We had six tastings and all were reasonably good. The service was fantastic and we ended up with a bottle of their Ross’ cherry road red. Overall great experience.

If you haven’t been to Twisted Roots, please, just go! My fiancée and I went wine tasting in Carmel Valley for the first time because I had purchased a handful of Groupons for various wine tasting rooms on Carmel Valley Road. The Groupon for Twisted Roots included wine tasting for 2AND a bottle of Cabernet for under $ 20(a steal!). Prior to Twisted Roots we went to another tasting room down the road and our experience there was not fabulous. Immediately walking into Twisted Roots we were greeted with a smile by Josh, the owner. He offered to serve us outside on the patio and since the weather was nice we decided to take him up on the offer. He poured each wine and gave us ample time to drink and enjoy it before coming out with the next. After tasting the wines in our flight he came out and offered two other varieties from his limited edition tasting flight at no additional charge. Sure enough I loved the Cherry Red Road from his limited line and so we bought one of those to put away for a special occasion in the future. Josh had much passion for making his wine and my fiancée and I both really appreciated that and coupled with his great customer service it was a definite«we must go back» kind of place!

We love this place so much. The wine maker Josh is always super friendly and treats everyone like family. The military discount is just the icing on the cake for my wife and me. Their wine club events are always great and the passion shows in the wine. We brought a huge group of friends here and Elliot was super accommodating. If you’re tired of the shitty Monterey weather this is a great place to sit outside and relax.

We were intrigued to try Twisted Roots as they advertise that their grapes are from Lodi and we are big Lodi zin fans. Our server started us w/a room-temp chardonnay. She said it tastes better that way, but I still prefer mine chilled. Ended up getting their 2010 Petite Sirah. Reasonably priced for the area.

Went to this winery after a relative was craving a Zinfandel wine tasting. We went to Twisted Roots after seeing their advertisement on the street. The service was quick, but not too quick. We were able to enjoy our four rounds of wine over light conversation and not too much noise. The only real complaint I could have is the restaurant next door was doing dishes we think and was making a lot of noise! We had four rounds of their wine, including: Chardonnay, Cabernet, Petite Sirah and Zinfandel. The wine tasting was free and the Zinfandel was great! Highly recommend it! Make sure to check out the art gallery and enjoy the fountain by the outdoor tables!

Great wines, we bought one of each that we tasted — something we rarely do! And all 4 for $ 100, not bad at all. Met the very friendly couple that runs the place and makes the wines, and we enjoyed hearing his story about learning to make wine. It was also great to find a place in Carmel Valley that specializes in something other than pinot noir, which isn’t our thing. And, like so many places in Carmel they’re dog friendly as well. This will be a stop each time we’re in the area.
