Great view although the night we were there it was windy and couldn’t open up our umbrella! My fish tacos was disgusting to me BUT the fried shrimp and mussles were great!

Great visit and good food. The view was amazing! (we visited so long ago now I forget what we ate but I do remember the food was good!)

This is the best place to go in Carolina Beach for an Ocean View and Fresh Seafood, that I’m aware of. We were greeted by a friendly Host at Lunch on Saturday, and seated upstairs where lunch is served. Service was great from local Surfer guys who were very dedicated and worked hard to please the busy lunch crowd. They serve wine, beer, and drinks from the full bar downstairs. We each had an AWESOME Wedge Salad, I’m not sure what made it so good but it was cool and refreshing and just right. We also had Calabash Shrimp and Flounder with Fries, oh so right on! I’ll post a couple pictures of the View, but I was too busy enjoying lunch to get pics of the food!

View and atmosphere was nice but the menu is small and way over priced for what you get. I had the fish tacos and they had absolutely no flavor

As many have said already at this place you’re really paying for the view. The service was very good and the atmosphere beautiful. However the food was eh and overpriced. The portions were small, and according to my friends who have eaten there before several times, they are getting smaller. I had the blackened fish tacos and they were okay. My husband had the fried chicken sandwich and thought it was good. My mojito was perfect! Not bad but not the best!

Grilled Mahi Tacos could not be more bland and the Crab Cake Sandwich was mush but seasoned at least a little bit. Maybe go for the view or the Tiki Bar but skip the food.

This place is disappointing. My GF and I were on vacation and our first choice for dinner was closed on Sundays so we went to ocean grill. We ordered 2 specialty cocktails which were over priced and not terribly tasty. My GF ordered the pimento cheese appetizer which she said was good. I ordered a Calabash shrimp basket. It had 6 small shrimp, frozen fries and a tiny plastic cup if Cole slaw for $ 12! Not being even close to satisfied we ordered nachos which we were told were«huge». If you were very very small maybe. They were nachos with barely any cheese, a few black beans, tomatoes and lettuce for $ 9. We both said we could have made better at home. Come to find out that there are 2 different menus. If you sit inside you can get swordfish and salmon but if you sit on the deck, you get crap! Would’ve been nice to know that before I sat down!!! If you are coming to Carolina Beach, save your money and avoid the Ocean Grill.

Amazing view from the pier. Lots of locals go here on a regular basis means its probably pretty darn good! I had just stopped in for the view and the drinks which were excellent but then I tried the food. Was probably the best bar food I’ve had in a while busy but friendly bartender service. A little pricey but worth it. Looks like a little beach shack which is perfect for the location.

You can’t beat the view from the upstairs but the place needs to hire someone who isn’t a teenager. Our waiter definitely seemed overwhelmed by the large group(10 — 12 people). Two of us ordered appetizers(gazpacho and pimento cheese) but they weren’t brought out until the first round of entrees. Yes, the entrees came out in two rounds several minutes apart. Group was happy overall with the food. I was appreciative of the black bean burger on the menu and it tasted good. Not sure why it comes with salsa and chips instead of fries though. One of the few true vegetarian offerings at Carolina Beach restaurants. As things wrapped up, the waiter brought our check without asking if we are ready for it and, most oddly, if we wanted dessert and coffee. It was pouring rain, so we likely would have ordered more but I guess he wasn’t interested in increasing the check amount or his tip. My gran and I both ordered a mojito, which they make with brown sugar. Very drinkable but sadly no sugary residue at the bottom of the glass leading us to conclude they use a brown sugar simple syrup. With improvements to service, this place would be great.

4 stars for atmosphere; 2 for food and prices. But you don’t go here for the food and you certainly pay for that atmosphere! But man, what a great time. The tiki bar is exactly what it should be: relaxed, beachy, social and fun. They always play the perfect music here. The crowd is always fun-loving. The drinks are STRONG. You’ll have a 4 star time if you come during the day, drink the cocktails at the tiki bar, order some crab dip or nachos, and talk to your neighbors!

This place was really nice, but not really nice. It’s casual, the food is served in baskets, but the location and food quality make it feel like it could be fancy and get away with it. We sat outside where we were shaded by an umbrella and soothed by the sounds of the ocean. The artichoke appetizer was delicious — I almost wish that I had ordered it for my meal too! The crabcake sandwich was good, but the blackened fish sandwich was spicy but in a very bland way. Overall, we really enjoyed this place and it wasn’t as expensive as you’d think, eating steps from the beach. I wish I had more time in Carolina beach to come back for drinks at the Tiki Bar at the end of the pier but it will have to wait for future adventures; it looks like a great time though.

Good food and service. Fried chicken sandwich awesome. Great fish tacos and extra tasty cole slaw. Nice to sit outside in the beach dunes. Drinks are generous:-)

After searching for a sign or a server(who wouldn’t ignore us) to let us know whether we were to seat ourselves outside or go inside to a host, my friend was asked by a wait staff if she had shorts. My friend said«it’s a dress.» The woman told her she needed to pull it down or put shorts on next time. My friend is a curvy girl. Her dress surely went down further than every server who had on shorts that barely covered their butts. I’m disgusted with the discrimination and humiliation that I observed and would never consider returning.

Blackened Mahi Mahi tacos are delicious!!! Great service! Love the tiki bar! Love that it’s right on the beach too!

The location of this place is great, right on the beach! Not a huge menu, but the food was delicious. I had the blackened Mahi Fish tacos, excellent! However, the parking conditions for this place were ridiculous. The parking lot is above average sized, it could hold probably about 50 at least. I understand in a beach town the need to regulate people from parking to simply go to the beach rather than the restaurant. However, we had a group of 6 people and spent over 100 dollars easy at the restaurant. Two of us wanted to lay out on the beach while the rest continued drinking at the bar. They would not let us continue parking in the lot? Even though we were still continuing to buy drinks at the bar and the parking lot was nearly empty. This was extremely inconvenient for us because it was Memorial Day weekend and parking was nearly impossible to find. It felt as if we weren’t welcomed, bad customer service.

Service was knowledgable, friendly and fast. I had the black bean burger which was delicious. Husband had a regular burger which he described as slightly dry but enjoyable. Tropical drinks were tasty, but a little weak given the price. Atmosphere was top notch. Ate outside on the patio. Would definitely recommend!

Ended up here after our first two choices didn’t pan out, and I’m so glad we did! I ordered a wedge salad and a bowl of crab bisque. The salad wasn’t super special, but it certainly didn’t disappoint. The soup, though, was truly one of the most delicious soups I’ve ever had. I would go back here JUST for the soup. Other entrees my table ordered were the fish tacos, and the calabash flounder & shrimp. Everyone was raving about how yummy their meals were. We would go here again in a heartbeat! The location was great, service was on par, and we were also very impressed with the affordable prices.

The view here is simply amazing and where else can you get a fresh beer or cocktail on the beach in Carolina Beach? Bring your cash, flip flops and enjoy a drink with the best view.
