We eat Japanese at least once a week. This was our first time here. The raw fish smelled fishy, and it was warm and slimy. Didn’t finish my sushi combo set. Can’t recommend this place.

This is my all time favorite sushi place in the area. It is inexpensive and delicious, the atmosphere is quiet and the staff is so friendly. I will not go anywhere else. I love this place. The California roll, is to die for. I also love the salmon and asparagus roll, avocado roll, tempura shrimp roll. The soup is always hot and delicious and the pineapple desert is complimentary and the perfect touch.

We went here on a whim. We’re out of towers and just happened upon it. The kids wanted sushi, so we stopped. Super clean and friendly. The sushi was yummy! Some items seemed like smaller portions, but it was fresh and tasted delicious. Prices were great!

I“ve been going here for about 8 years, and for me its good sushi at a good price. The sushi chef is friendly, as is the staff. They have sake specials and sushi specials, many kinds of rolls, sashimi, and nigiri, udon, teriyaki, and salads. I like to get a roll and some tempura here because its not going to cost me an arm and a leg. This restaurant has been around for many years and that says a lot of good things about it.

Not super complex of a review. My wife found a fly in her salad appetizer. We called over the waitress, told her about it, and said«oh», and shook it off like it never happened. That one-two punch of finding the insect, and then the accompanying response, confirms that we will never go back there again.

Maybe it was because I ordered takeout? I am definitely not a sushi Connoisseur but let me just say this is NOT the best place for sushi. I have had way better at other places. I am definitely no Japanese chef but, how hard is it to cook edamame? I think i was served last weeks batch that someone left at their table… Not fresh nor edible… I ordered a Bento box and my teriyaki chicken was definitely not grilled. It was dry and in my opinion it was warmed up in a microwave and slathered with some teriyaki sauce. Spicy sushi roll… The texture of the tuna did not feel normal and the taste was really gross. needless to say I spit it out of my mouth and threw it away. The key factor in sushi is it that the ingredients need to be fresh. #FAIL All I can think about was that Vine on Facebook where there was a live worm in the tuna… Miso soup. Edible The infamous California roll, my desire for today. It was mediocre I don’t even recall cucumber being in it. The salad: only cut up romaine lettuce was provided. Normally shredded carrots are in it and toasted sesame seeds. ginger dressing was provided.(Lucky me) My cost: $ 36 on this meal. Service Ok Only good thing was the Udon and steamed rice and pork dumplings… But not worth returning for. This is about the only convenient place to me for sushi but going forward I will definitely make the drive and pay my money’s worth elsewhere…

There must be a mistake with all these good reviews on here. I trusted you people! This is the worst. And I mean WORST sushi I have ever tasted in my life! I mean, to go through the trouble of downloading this app just to write this review should tell you how bad it is. I feel like I just ate fried balls of rice. «Where is the fish?» Was what I kept wondering. Horrible just horrible. Don’t waste your money nor calories. I promise this place will leave you wondering when you’ll ever crave sushi again. Unilocal. You should not require me to give a star.

I have been looking for a sushi place like this in Dallas for YEARS and had already given up. Lunch to die for! Fresh and incredibly tasty. You leave that wasabi where it is! Eat this fish in its pure state! The chef knows what he’s doing.

Love this place. We come here when we want really good sushi that isn’t too expensive. Beer and sake specials are great. The Snow Roll melts in your mouth. Great volcano roll. Staff is friendly and attentive. Love that you get miso soup with your sushi order.

Just ok sushi bar for me I would not come back there is much better in the area . The little guy behind the sushi bar is really cool but the lady server probably his wife is rude I ordered a roll and then cancelled it before it was made and they still brought it and insisted I pay for I did and the roll sucked…

This small restaurant was a lot better than I thought it would be. I was expecting nothing but extremely Americanized sushi such as the very tasty«Between Josey Lane and Keller Springs roll» or maybe even the intriguing«Right next to Albertsons» roll all smothered with ½ pound of cream cheese with each bite, but I was pleasantly surprised. Walking in, I instantly hear the karaōke machine playing cheesy, but peaceful soundtracks from what seems like old Asian films. The sushi bar area was pretty small with maybe only 5 seats and one guy was already there with his ipad out so I chose to sit a few seats down. I always like to watch the chef make the different items. I ordered the chirashi ju, which came with a 12 slices of sashimi on top of some delicious rice and some salty fish eggs. I also ordered my favorite side, seaweed salad. The meal did come with a miso soup and some pickled cucumbers. Pros: The rice for my chirashi ju was really awesome. Warm, a little sticky with just a little bit of some kind of dried pork(maybe) for added saltiness and flavor. The flavor for the seaweed salad was on point and at a price for only 4 bucks, it was worth it. Cons: I know the miso and the pickled cucumbers are free but that doesn’t give anyone an excuse for it to be anything less than perfect. If you were serving dinner rolls at a steakhouse or chips and salsa at a Tex-Mex restaurant, you’re still going to give a shout out whether it was good or not. To me, the miso wasn’t very good. It just tasted like old miso that’s been sitting out for bit too long. Same with the cucumbers; it just wasn’t pickled enough and they came out almost grey. It wasn’t sour at all and tasted like soggy cucumber slices. The seaweed salad came out almost frozen. I know they usually keep the seaweed refrigerated, but it kind of tasted like it came right out of the freezer. The main sashimi part of my meal was good, but it wasn’t as memorable as the rice. Overall, I would come here again for the cheap beer and sake and maybe try it for lunch. Plus, the toilet is pretty cool.

The hot sake special is back down to $ 1! Win! Beer is still $ 2, but where else can you get a $ 2 beer all day, every day? Only here, my friends!

I’m being nice and giving this restaurant two stars since the price was okay. As for the sushi, it wasn’t good to be blunt. I ordered the Spicy Crunchy Roll, Spider Roll(the soft shell crab was like… non-existent), and the Volcano Special Roll(which was so salty and soggy…) It was not good at all. I only tried this place because I always go to Nari Sushi which is a couple of blocks away, and I wanted to try something new. Needless to say, I’m not going back. Unless I’m craving soggy sushi that breaks every time you try to pick it up!

We recently moved to the neighborhood and decided to check this place out. The service is quick and polite and the food was good. We will be back.

This place is a real treat. The staff is always so friendly and the food always delivers. This little hole in the wall is where I come back to after every sushi experience. This establishment deserves a lot more recognition because they have had great affordable prices that match portion size and taste. I’ve been to «upscale» overpriced no quality or quantity sushi bars(cough, Fin, cough) and this trumps them all. Been here several times and not once have I ever had a complaint. The servers continuously come around to fill your water glasses and smile at you. I have decided to just stick with a good thing instead of trying new sushi places that just lead you to disappointment and no money in your wallet. I absolutely love the Spicy crunch roll. Great food, definitely worth a try for anyone debating it.

This place has been here for 8 years and I never knew! They are a great sushi place for lunch. It tastes great but doesn’t kill your pocket. They also are very accommodating to their costumers with a free cucumber vinaigrette palate cleanser, a salad and Miso soup before your food comes! Then a pineapple palate cleanser after your food! Everything was great!

Ok this place rocks, but it’s not fancy and you aren’t going to get the super classy sushi you get at like Euduko or that fancy place in addison. However, here’s the awesomeness behind it, there is option A, B and C on the menu which comes with soup/salad and a selection of yumminess for like $ 14 – 19 bucks. The rolls are cheap like, 7 – 10 bucks, not always the tightest rolled but heck this place you can fill up cheap. Apparently they have a karoke option but I’ve never heard anyone singing, and you have this little buzzer on the table to call your waiter, kinda exciting. But they are attentive so sadly I’ve never used this awesome technology. Another Bonus $ 2 hot saki, 1 $ draft beers. JACKPOT. When you walk in you get some free little pickled vege thing and a free piece of pineapple for desert. Oh another hidden gem, try the heated toliets in the bathroom… MIND is BLOWN.

To the guy that said the wait staff took forever, there’s a little device on your table to call them over. Could probably try hitting it next time. It’s not gourmet but it’s cheap. I had some dumplings(I forget what they call them) and some shrimp sushi. Great lunch for $ 10 with the included miso soup. I enjoyed the miso soup. Not the best I’ve had but great for free. The dumplings tasted fresh and were delicious. Same with the sushi. It wasn’t busy at all on a weekday lunch. Very quiet place to just relax and enjoy your food. Great for a quick, inexpensive meal.

If you want cheap sushi, this is your place. If you want good sushi, then look elsewhere. I kinda cringe when my friends want to eat here because they obviously do not know what decent sushi(or even good sushi) is. Good sushi doesn’t have to be pricey. You don’t get that fresh taste here and the rolls don’t even stay together, they just fall apart. You can take the family here and not break the bank. Personally I rather buy the sushi from a Tom Thumb deli. The place is small and quaint. Service is mediocre. Likes: 2 for 1
