Another restaurant that I stumbled on while I was vacationing in Dallas. This was my first visit, and it was for lunch, which is a completely different menu than what they offer for their dinners. For dinner I think the prices are very high. The staff was amazing. It is friendly and they describe the dishes in detail as they bring them to you. I’d definitely come back when I’m in Dallas again.

I love this place! The sushi is always fresh and tasty. The nigiri is HUGE and perfectly prepared. The rolls are generous and creative. The family rooms are a nice touch.

I have a new favorite sushi restaurant. This place is AMAZING! We mainly had sashimi… The fish is fresh and the serving size is the perfect amount. We only tried one sushi roll, the Butterfly Kiss, and it is definitely one of the best rolls I’ve ever had. We also had the scallop handroll and the salmon skin handroll… These also ranks at the top of handrolls we’ve eaten. I am definitely going to make this my go-to restaurant from now on!

Came in during lunch time on Sun when it wasn’t busy. Giving this 3⁄5 stars. I had the miso soup & edamame as a starter. Both could have been way better. Not much taste to either of the starters. Ordered yellow tail roll & spicy tuna roll. The rolls were really good. I was pleasantly surprised after being disappointed with the starters. I loved how they added avocado to the spicy tuna roll. Big rolls with a good amount of fish. Service could have been better considering there were only 3 tables.

The food is not bad. We had a sushi bento box and tempura udon. Both were good, and the price was fine. I hate to be one of those horror stories, but let me give you the shortest version possible: We arrived right after they opened. I guess the whole staff wasn’t there. We sat at the sushi bar. The one guy serving as the waiter(who I don’t think is actually a waiter) went back and forth between getting our food ready, including our RAWFISH, and hosing down the prep area behind the sushi bar. I’m sorry, but please don’t ever clean with a hose, prepare food, and then clean with a hose again, with no hand-washing, especially if the food is raw. If I was going only on the food, I’d be happy to come back. But if that’s how they’re preparing the food in front of you, I’m scared to know what’s going on in the kitchen. So I don’t think we’ll be back.

Thick cuts and big rolls. The sushi here is excellent and plentiful. Best butterfly kiss I’ve ever had.

I was really excited about the reviews, but the prices on some of the items was very high. I ordered the butterfly roll which was amazing and very well priced. I also got the beef tataki at $ 15.95 and it was basically a steak they just cut and topped with masago. It was not a very good dish. then last I go a nigori sake and there was no price on the menu. I ask and she said not too expensive. I should have asked for an exact number but it was $ 18.95 I will say the sushi was good but the prices are high for such a werid location

Quaint Mom and Pop restaurant with some of the freshest and largest cuts of very good sushi and sashimi. Interior is decorated with dark woods and dimly lit — very clean and comfortable. Ambiance and very low noise level is perfect for casual conversation with that special person in your life. I’ve only been here a few times and they greet me like an old friend who just rolled into town each time I come in. the owners are wonderfully warm people. Pop in when you’re in the area. You’ll be coming back ;)

I’m really struggling here. The food was good(4 stars) but the ambiance and service was just so strange(2 stars) and made me want to give this place a three. When I walked in, the interior was really dark and there were no customers or wait staff. I had just passed the open sign out front but went back to double check. Yup, they’re open. I stand around for maybe 30 secs before a waitress appears from the back and just stares at me. I asked if she was open and she just points to the dining area. I make myself at home at the sushi bar but really wanted to leave. She hands me a huge dining menu and a used sushi menu that was already marked up by a previous customer and just stands there towering over me staring at me. It reminded me of the scene in Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle where Kumar takes a leak in a huge forest and some guy just pops up and stands uncomfortably close to him. She was so close I could count her eyelashes. I didn’t worry about the used sushi menu because I just wanted the Hwe Dopbap, which is assorted cubed sashimi with vegetables and some banchan. I’m really surprised how much food came out for the price and honestly everything that I tasted was really good and pretty fresh($ 15.95). The sashimi was drizzled with a little of sesame oil and came out on a bed of greens with a bowl of rice, 2 kinds of kimchi, 2 raw peppers and some cucumber, miso soup and a octopus salad. Even with all of the food I left not feeling bloated and semi good about my self.

Carrollton Sushi was closed today. Their loss. This place was awesome and we will be back. Everything we ordered was fresh and tasty. The chef sent out some salmon sashimi with one of our orders and it was thick and buttery! So good. We ordered salmon and tuna sushi and a rainbow roll. All very fresh and good. Service was fast and friendly.

Horrible service. Our waitress did not speak/understand English at all. We communicated by pointing at the menu and nodding/shaking our heads. We wanted sushi, but no one gave us a sushi menu. We ended up ordering shrimp tempura and noodles. After placing the order, I tracked down a sushi menu. My food came out first. My husband’s food & the sushi came out 30 min later. The shrimp tempura was cooked well. The noodles were nothing spectacular. The sushi was great. Good quality fish. Presentation was lacking. This place isn’t worth the trouble. Try other another place.

Good Sushi. All of the Rolls were huge. I guess we happen to choose everything with crabmeat. Loaded, which is a good thing. We got so full we barely touched our Butterfly kiss. You can order less than what you usually order because they were that big. Will come back

Décor: 4⁄5 –I came for lunch on a Sunday, the place was empty and dim. Service: 4⁄5 –We sat at the sushi bar so our rolls were made in front of us. –Food was obviously fast since there was no one else –They forgot one of our rolls –Our sushi chef was Diego Food: 4.5÷5 –I ordered the Volcano roll(scallop, crab meat) and New York roll(shrimp tempura, avocado, crab meat). –Yes the prices may seem a bit high however you do get what you pay for. The rolls had generous portions of protein. I left stuffed and couldn’t finish the last piece of New York roll.

Why is this place empty at lunch time? This place served the best seafood in the area.

I was excited to eat here because of the good Unilocal reviews, but sadly, I had a disappointing visit. The sushi was good(don’t get me wrong), but it wasn’t the best either — considering they’re a bit pricey. Service: too slow. We waited for a long time to be served(note: there were only few people at that time). Also…No one even explained to us what kind of sushi they have. No one attended to us either when we were eating. No one asked if we needed more water or whatever. It was just frustrating trying to catch their attention. I was about to leave because no one attended to us. We had to keep yelling out«we’re ready.» Ugh. What I didn’t like as well was how the owner/manager(I assume) were yelling to the staff. If you wanted to yell at your staff, be discreet about it. Do it inside the kitchen, because it was uncomfortable to watch. I didn’t like their teriyaki either. $ 15+ for a little amount of food. Maybe it’s the same price as the others in the area, but at least add more to it. I say they are overpriced for their average food & bad service.

Was introduced to this place by a friend and love it. My boyfriend and I have been here twice now. Both times we got the New York roll. First time, we got a few sushi pieces. Second time, we got the tower with salmon and crabmeat. Everything was delicious. While I agree that the fish selection probably isn’t the absolute freshest out there, I think it’s much better than average and a lot fresher than some of the other sushi restaurants I’ve tried over my lifetime. Keep in mind that I don’t love raw fish. My boyfriend, however, does and agrees that the fish here is pretty good. The restaurant also makes up for it by providing VERY generous portions. The sushi and the roll sizes are very large. You won’t have be worry about being skimped out on. The restaurant is very clean and(during the times I’ve been there) quite empty. If you have party of 6 or more, you can opt to go into one of their private rooms. Great place if you want to grab some good sushi and not have to yell in order to have a conversation. However, despite being quite empty, it took a long time to get our food both times we went(second time was a tad faster). The first time we went, we didn’t get our scallop sushi until after the entire meal was finished and we had paid for our tab. The sushi was delicious though, and I’m glad we ate it instead of just asking for it to be taken off our tab.

I came here on a Sunday early evening for dinner with my boyfriend. There was only one other table in the restaurant, so we received our food really fast. I don’t know what service is like on a busy day but the service nice and impersonal, kind of like most Asian places– nothing out of the norm. The restaurant décor was really neat, and the inside very clean. They serve their own pickled cucumbers slices with sesame seeds to start off. It’s so tasty! It’s tangy and nothing like your normal american pickles. We ordered the Rainbow roll, Proposel roll(literally how it was spelled on the menu), and the yellowtail, tuna and smoked salmon nigiri. The Proposel roll was by far my favorite– stuffed with HUGE chunks of salmon and tuna, wrapped with crab. The rainbow roll was equally as large– every bite is full of fish and not rice. I love it! The pieces are possibly so large that it’s hard to eat them in one bite, and taking multiple bites of a sushi roll would almost guarantee it to fall apart on you, but I would take that any day. They are very generous with the nigiri as well– enormous pieces with only a tiny bit of rice. Most sushi places skimp on the fish and stuff them with rice instead, but not Nari Sushi! I was most impressed with the quality of the cuts and the fish. Nari Sushi is a little pricey, but worth every penny!

I came here for lunch right when they opened so I had no issues with service. I sat at the sushi bar and waited for a menu. I decided on the butterfly kisses roll because all my fellow Unilocalers have suggested it, and it was on point. I love when sushi can be in a form of a riceless roll so I don’t feel as guilty to eat it, but it doesn’t taste fishy too. This was quality stuff here. Get the butterfly kisses roll when you come. The lady told me they had buy 1 get 1 free for the sushi pieces. I guess I understood it wrong because I decided on mackerel and crab stick thinking I would get 2 pieces of each and she would just omit one of the prices. I ended up getting a total of 8 pieces. I really hate wasting food but even more I cannot take sushi to go. I don’t feel the taste is good eating it as leftovers. So of course, I could not finish my sushi. The mackerel was really food but the crab was terrible. Maybe I should have said something but something told me they would not have cared much, and I was also in a rush to get back to work. Short, quick lunch here. I did see a fruit fly go into my soy sauce tray and could not use that anymore. That plus my sushi mishap, along with the crab sushi not tasting so great is why I gave this place a 3 star… almost 4.

I’ve been here a couple times. Butterfly kiss roll is a must try, it just melts in your mouth. They also have the best California Roll you ever tasted. I would highly reccomend this place, it’s truly a hidden gem. Some others complain about the service or the owners being rude/stingy, but they have been pretty cool with me. You have to also consider that you are dealing with sole proprietors, which is what gives this place it’s charm. It’s not some fancy corporate food chain.
